Description

The invention relates to a base of approximately rectangular area for the bedding of corpses, in particular a mattress intended for use in coffins.

Documents of predetermined layer thickness for the bedding of corpses are known as so-called coffin mattresses. Such coffin mattresses must on the one hand withstand the surface load that occurs during the bedding of corpses, on the other hand they must also rot easily with regard to burials or be easily combustible for cremations.

In addition, there is a demand for a construction that is as cost-effective as possible.

In view of these requirements, such coffin mattresses generally consist of a cover made of a light textile fabric without the addition of plastic with a filling made of, for example, wood wool or a other rotten and / or combustible filler. The coffin mattresses are therefore simple versions of normal mattresses.

Die Lösung dieser Aufgabe ist durch die Ausbildung einer derartigen Unterlage als an sich bekannte Wabenstruktur mit sich quer zur Flächenausdehnung erstreckenden, nebeneinanderliegenden Hohlräumen und letztere umschließenden, jeweils benachbarte Hohlräume voneinander trennenden Zwischenwänden gekennzeichnetIn contrast, the object of the present invention is to create a base intended for the special purpose of bedding the corpse, which, at substantially lower costs than known coffin mattresses, meets the requirements of this special purpose. The solution to this problem is characterized by the formation of such a base as a known honeycomb structure with adjacent cavities extending transversely to the surface area and enclosing intermediate walls separating the adjacent cavities from each other

The invention is therefore that a known honeycomb structure forms the base in its entirety, so that there is no need for a textile covering or any fillers. Rather, the supporting function is fulfilled by the intermediate walls which extend between the cavities which run essentially perpendicular to the surface area of the base and which enclose the cavities and which of course also extend essentially perpendicularly to the surface area of the base.

A base designed in this way is naturally distinguished from the prior art by a simple and inexpensive construction, in particular when adjacent cavities are separated from one another by a common partition.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention consists in the fact that the intermediate walls of the honeycomb structure enclosing the cavities form polygons, for example in the form of rhombuses or hexagons. These polygons are expediently arranged in such a way that a main diagonal of the polygons runs transversely to the greater length of the honeycomb structure. Such an arrangement enables in a further embodiment of the invention that the honeycomb structure can be folded in a direction approximately perpendicular to the main diagonals of the polygons up to the abutting of the main diagonals adjacent to each other on a space-saving stacking dimension, which of course in addition to that by forming such a base as Advantage of honeycomb structure due to extreme light weight leads to the fact that in a small space space-saving folded documents can be accommodated in large numbers, which if necessary can be brought into their use position by pulling out the folded structure in a direction perpendicular to the preparation extension.

Another advantageous embodiment is characterized in that the honeycomb structure consists of paper of appropriate strength. According to another design feature, at least some of the intermediate spaces consist of a material with high absorbency.

A further advantageous embodiment provides that at least is provided with Eir l srhnitten in partial regions of a flat side of the honeycomb structure at least a part of the intermediate walls which extend transversely to separate the surface area of the honeycomb structure by this therethrough cavities from each other, extending from the flat side of the honeycomb structure out into the partitions Stretch in and weaken the latter in an area close to the bearing surface so that when a body is placed on it, at least some of the partitions provided with incisions collapse to the depth of these incisions. In view of this partial collapse of the partition walls provided with incisions, the support surface of the underlay adjusts itself to the physical unevenness of a corpse and ensures that it is protected against slipping. This effect can be further improved if, in a further embodiment of the invention, the intermediate walls are provided with end cuts in a central part which extends essentially over the entire length of the honeycomb structure and this central part is delimited on both sides by edge strips with intermediate walls left intact.

In schematischen Ansichten zeigen:

Two embodiments of the invention will be explained below with reference to the accompanying drawing. Schematic views show:
  • 1 is an overall perspective view of a coffin mattress made of a hexagonal honeycomb structure,
  • 2 is a partial plan view of the coffin mattress, the structure of the honeycomb structure,
  • 3 the coffin mattress according to FIG. 1 after folding to the space-saving stacking position,
  • 4 in a greatly enlarged detail from FIG. 2 shows an alternative embodiment with incisions extending from the top of the coffin mattress into the intermediate walls of the honeycomb structure and
  • 5 shows the arrangement of the end cuts in the partition walls in a sectional view along the section line VV in FIG. 4.

The coffin mattress 10 illustrated in its entirety in FIG. 1 is a honeycomb structure which is approximately rectangular from above and which is adapted to the usual coffins in length and width. When used as intended, the end face 11 forming the foot end has a smaller width 12 and a lower height 13 than the other end face 14, so that the lateral boundaries 15, 16 run slightly diverging from one another from the foot end. In addition, the surface of the structure rises slightly from the foot end to the head end opposite the latter, the width and height of which are designated 17, 18.

The sectional view according to FIG. 2 shows the design of the honeycomb structure, adjacent cavities 20 being enclosed by partition walls 21, which form corner corners and each have a main diagonal 22 running perpendicular to the length of the honeycomb structure, which is shown in dash-dotted lines in one of the corner corners.

The intermediate walls 21 are made of strong paper and naturally also extend essentially perpendicular to the surface area of the honeycomb structure shown in FIG. 1. The partitions can at least partially consist of a material having a high absorbency or be loaded with such a material in order to absorb liquids that are produced when used as intended.

Um den leichten Anstieg der von der Oberseite der Wabenstruktur gebildeten Liegefläche besser zu veranschaulichen, ist die platzsparende Stapelposition in Fig. 3 in einer gegenüber Fig. 1 gedrehten Lage dargestellt.1 and 2 show the honeycomb structure in the position of use, on the other hand FIG. 3 shows a space-saving stacking position which is brought about by the fact that the honeycomb structure is folded up essentially perpendicular to the course of the main diagonals 22 of the polygons mentioned in such a way that the end faces 11, 14 assigned to the foot end and the head end are pushed together, as indicated by the arrows 23, 23 'in FIG. 2. In this stacking position, the intermediate walls adjoining the main diagonals of the polygons come to rest against one another and a space-saving package 10 'is formed which, by pulling the front ends apart, counter to the directions indicated by the arrows 23, 23' in FIG. 2, into the use position according to FIG 1 can be brought. In order to better illustrate the slight increase in the lying surface formed by the top of the honeycomb structure, the space-saving stacking position is shown in FIG. 3 in a position rotated relative to FIG. 1.

In the embodiment illustrated in detail in FIGS. 4 and 5 in enlarged views compared to FIG. 2, the intermediate walls 21 'separating the cavities 20' of the honeycomb structure are from the upper side forming the lying surface when the coffin mattress is used as intended, with incisions 25 running perpendicular to the surface extension provided, which are guided substantially perpendicular to the intermediate walls and the above-mentioned top and extend by the small amount indicated at 26 in relation to the thickness of the honeycomb structure from the front side into the intermediate walls. In Fig. 1 by the dash-dotted lines 27, 27 'is a central part 28 extending over the entire length of the coffin mattress Lying surface separated from lateral edge strips 29, 29 ', in which the intermediate walls surrounding the honeycomb-shaped cavities are left intact, while the intermediate walls 21' in the area of the central part 28 in the manner shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 with incisions at 26 in Fig. 5 indicated depth are provided.

In view of the weakening of the partition walls 21 caused by the above-mentioned incisions 25, part of the part breaks in the area adjacent to the ligament surface (top side) of the honeycomb structure of the middle part extending between the intactly left edge strips 29, 29 ', namely when a body is placed on it weakened partitions down to the depth of the incisions, whereby the surface of the honeycomb structure adapts to physical unevenness of a body to be bedded and ensures its non-slip absorption.
