Description

The present invention relates to a device for mounting a false ceiling consisting of a horizontally stretched sheet.

False ceilings are already known which comprise, on the one hand, a horizontal frame fixed to the upper part of the walls of a room, this frame being formed by an external rail itself made up of butted sections, and, on the other hand part, a tablecloth stretched horizontally inside this frame, this tablecloth being constituted by a plastic sheet or a canvas. The ply is kept taut due to the attachment, on the heddle, of a border integral with the ply and which has in cross section the appearance of a hook coming to grip on a shoulder.

The device for mounting a false ceiling of this kind has proved satisfactory as long as the area of the room to be fitted is not too large and the weight of the material constituting the sheet per square meter is not not too high. Indeed, in the case of a relatively heavy sheet, this sheet is found to have a relatively large deflection in the center of the part, even if there is a significant traction on the edges of this sheet, at the place where it is hung. to the peripheral rail. To remedy this drawback, consideration has already been given to fixing a profile forming an intermediate support to the ceiling, in the middle position, to which the edges of two adjacent strips are hung. However, such a solution has the disadvantage of revealing, in the middle of the false ceiling, the profile constituting the intermediate support, which obviously affects the aesthetics of the entire room.

The present invention aims mainly to remedy this drawback by providing a mounting device of particularly simple design making it possible to obtain a perfectly stretched sheet regardless of the surface of the room to be fitted with the false ceiling and the weight of the sheet.

To this end, this device for mounting a false ceiling made up of a stretched sheet, comprising an external beam made up of profiles fixed to the upper part of the walls and having a shoulder on which a hook-shaped border grips. integral with the sheet, is characterized in that the sheet consists of at least two parallel and adjacent strips connected to each other along a junction line situated at a certain distance from the free edges of the two strips so as to leave free, from this junction line, a tongue made up of two free marginal zones of the two strips, and in that intermediate means for attaching the sheet to the ceiling are fixed to the latter, au- above the junction line or lines between adjacent strips to support the tab or tabs forming intermediate suspension elements between the sheet and the attachment means fixed to the ceiling.

The device according to the invention offers the advantage that it makes it possible to maintain in a perfectly horizontal position a sheet of canvas or plastic material even over a very large area, without this sheet, whatever its weight, showing an unsightly important arrow. Furthermore, it also makes it possible to mount a false ceiling according to the profile of the ceiling itself, when the latter is not completely horizontal.

Various embodiments of the present invention will be described below, by way of non-limiting examples, with reference to the appended drawing in which:
  • Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view of a false ceiling mounted by means of the device according to the invention.
  • Figures 2 and 3 are partial perspective views of an alternative embodiment of the ceiling attachment means.
  • Figure 4 is a vertical sectional view of an alternative embodiment of the ceiling attachment means.
  • Figure 5 is a perspective view of another alternative embodiment of the ceiling attachment means.
  • Figure 6 is a vertical sectional view illustrating the possibility of mounting a false ceiling adapted to a ceiling which is not completely horizontal.

In Figure 1 is shown a false ceiling 1 which is mounted under the horizontal ceiling 2 of a room. This false ceiling 1 comprises an outer rail 3 which extends horizontally and which consists of butted sections, fixed to the wall 4, to form a horizontal peripheral frame. In the center of this frame extends a horizontal sheet which, in the non-limiting embodiment shown in the drawing, consists of two adjacent parallel strips 5 and 6. The strips 5 and 6 constituting the sheet can be formed by a canvas or a plastic sheet such as polyvinyl chloride. The strips 5 and 6 each have a rectangular shape and they have on one of their long sides and their two short sides a border 7 in the form of a harpoon or hook. This border is advantageously made of spun plastic and which is welded to the edge of each of the strips 5 and 6. This border 7 forming a hook grips on a shoulder 8 of the heddle 3, to ensure tensioning and taut maintenance of the sheet formed by the two strips 5 and 6.

To obtain a perfectly horizontal stretched tablecloth, whatever the surface of the part and the weight of the material constituting the tablecloth, it is planned according to the invention to suspend the tablecloth from the ceiling 2 in one or more intermediate zones. To this end, the strips 5 and 6 each have a respective free edge 5a, 6a, that is to say without a hook-shaped border 7, this free edge extending along one of the long sides. of each of the strips. The two strips 5 and 6 are connected to each other along a junction line 9 which is situated at a certain distance from the free edges 5a and 6a of the two strips 5 and 6, so as to leave free, from this junction line 9, a tongue 10 formed by the two free marginal zones of the two strips 5 and 6. Furthermore, the device mounting according to the invention comprises intermediate means 11 for hooking the sheet 5, 6 to the ceiling 2, these means 11 being arranged above the junction line between the strips 5 and 6. In the embodiment nonlimiting shown in FIG. 1, the hooking means 11 are constituted by vertical hooks which are fixed, at their upper ends, to the ceiling 2 and whose curved lower parts pass through holes made, at appropriate intervals, in the tongue 10. This tongue 10 is thus supported by the hooks 18 and it constitutes an intermediate suspension element between these hooks 11 and the ply 5, 6. This gives perfect hold of the ply 5, 6 in its central part.

The connection between the two strips 5 and 6 can be carried out in any suitable manner, for example by welding in the case of plastic sheets, sewing, stapling, etc.

Les figures 2 à 5 illustrent diverses formes d'exécution non limitatives des moyens intermédiaires permettant d'accrocher la nappe au plafond 2.FIGS. 2 to 5 illustrate various non-limiting embodiments of the intermediate means making it possible to hang the sheet on the ceiling 2.

In FIG. 2, these means comprise a cleat 12 which is fixed horizontally under the ceiling and the tongue 10 is fixed on a vertical face of the cleat 12, for example by means of nails 13 passing through eyelets 14 placed in the tongue 10. In in this case, the height of the cleat 12 is chosen so that its lower edge 12a is located substantially in the plane of the shoulders 8 of the heddle 3. As a result, this edge 12a also acts as a bearing surface for the part margin of the left strip 5, the junction line 9 being located adjacent to the lower right edge of the cleat 12.

La figure 3 illustre une variante d'exécution semblable à celle de la figure 2, dans laquelle la languette 10 est fixée à la face verticale droite du tasseau 12 au moyen d'agrafes 14.FIG. 3 illustrates an alternative embodiment similar to that of FIG. 2, in which the tongue 10 is fixed to the right vertical face of the cleat 12 by means of staples 14.

In the embodiment illustrated in Figure 4, the intermediate attachment means comprise a horizontal strip 15 fixed to the ceiling 2 and under which is in turn fixed a section of profile 16 of the same cross section as that of the heddle 3 This profile 16 has a shoulder 17 directed upwards. On this shoulder is gripped a hook-shaped border 18 which is integral with the tongue 10. The border 18 can be integral either with the two parts of the tongue 10, or with only one of them, in the occurrence the free marginal zone of the strip 5. The section 16 thus provides support for the central part of the sheet.

In the variant illustrated in FIG. 5, the tongue 10 actually forms a succession of loops between and through which passes a rod or a steel wire 19. Tensioners 20 are hooked on the one hand to the wire steel 19, in the intervals between the successive loops 10, and on the other hand to an anchor point on the ceiling 2. The loops 10 are constituted by parallel legs extending laterally one of the strips 5 and 6 and folded over them - even up to the junction line 9 between the strips.

Dans la forme d'exécution non limitative représentée sur le dessin, le moyen d'accrochage utilisé est celui qui est illustré sur la figure 4: autrement dit, chaque languette 10 est solidaire d'un crochet 18 retenu par l'épau Iernentd'un profilé 16 fixé au plafond par l'intermédiaire d'un tasseau 15.FIG. 6 illustrates the application of the device according to the invention to the production of a false ceiling 21 which is not planar and which has, in vertical section, a broken line contour, for example trapezoidal. This false ceiling comprises a beam made up of two lower longitudinal and horizontal sections 22, situated at the same level, two transverse and horizontal sections 23 situated at the same upper level, and inclined transverse sections 24 connecting the ends of the lower longitudinal sections 22 to those of the upper transverse sections 23. Furthermore, the false ceiling 21 comprises two oblique lateral strips 25 which are hooked respectively, along their longitudinal edges, to the two lower longitudinal and horizontal sections 22, and which are assembled, along their other longitudinal edges, with a horizontal upper strip 26. The tabs 10 formed at the junction lines between the horizontal upper strip 26 and the two oblique lateral strips 25 are suspended from the ceiling, using any of the means of 'hanging previously described. In the nonlimiting embodiment shown in the drawing, the attachment means used is that which is illustrated in FIG. 4: in other words, each tongue 10 is secured to a hook 18 retained by the spur Iernentd'un profile 16 fixed to the ceiling by means of a cleat 15.
