Description

The invention relates to a scraper fitting for the lid of a carding machine, with a plurality of laterally adjacent wire strands, lined up on an elongated carrier and held together by at least one locking piece, each having a row of teeth and a foot.

Carding machines generally have a rotating drum and lids moved along part of the circumference of the drum. The covers are moved in the direction of rotation of the drum, but their speed of travel is many times smaller than the peripheral speed of the relatively rapidly rotating drum. The drum is wrapped with a toothed metal wire forming the fitting thereof. The covers are generally available in two different versions. One version contains a carrier made of relatively soft material, through which a large number of ticks are inserted. The other embodiment contains a cast iron rod, on which toothed wire strip sections are arranged. These are similar or the same as the metal wire wound around the drum. The fiber material is dissolved, cleaned and parallelized between the metal wire teeth present on the drum and the teeth arranged on the lids, and formed into a fleece, which is subsequently compressed into a card sliver.
Many scraper fittings from wire sections arranged on cast iron bars are known. For example, in DE-OS 2 145 459 an embodiment of scraper fittings has become known in which the connection between the wire strips and their carrier, which in turn is connected to the flat bar, is formed by means of welds or adhesives. Such welding or gluing means a considerable expenditure of time and correspondingly considerable manufacturing costs. In the older, not prepublished EP-A-091 1 986 a scratch fitting is described with the features of the preamble of claim 1. The wire strips are lined up on a carrier that passes through the base of each wire strip. A locking element braces the wire strips against each other. A disadvantage of this design is that the wire strips cannot be preassembled as a package and are weakened in their feet, while the tension can be changed by predetermined steps.

Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this.

The invention, as characterized in claim 2, solves the problem of creating a scraper fitting for the lid of a carding machine, in which the aforementioned disadvantages are avoided.

The advantages achieved by the invention can essentially be seen in the fact that not every individual wire strip has to be connected to the carrier, and thus significant savings in time and effort are achieved. Since there are no integral connections to the carrier, it can be easily reused. The ends of the wire strips are encompassed by the clips and are therefore protected to a greater extent against damage.

  • Fig. 2 den Endabschnitt eines Trägers,
  • Fig. 3 den Abschnitt der Fig. 2, geschnitten gezeichnet,

The subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of drawings which illustrate only one embodiment. Show it:
  • Fig. 1 is a perspective view, partially drawn in section of an embodiment of the invention.
  • 2 shows the end section of a carrier,
  • 3 shows the section of FIG. 2, cut,
  • 4 a sawtooth wire,
  • 5 is a locking piece,
  • 6, the locking piece of FIG. 5, partially drawn in section,
  • 7 is a bottom view of the locking piece of FIG .. 5

In the figures, the carrier is designated by the reference number 1. This is a profile piece made of drawn or cold-rolled aluminum, or an aluminum alloy. 2 illustrates that the profile piece 1 is closed on both sides by a side cheek 2. A T-shaped longitudinal groove 3 is formed in the middle of the profile piece 1. As a result, there are also two grooves 19 in the profile piece 1. At the end shown, the profile piece 1 has a wedge-shaped locking member 6. As can be seen from FIG. 3, this locking member 6 is formed by an indentation 7 on the back of the profile piece 1.

They have a row of teeth 17 and a foot 11 in a known manner. A tooth-free end section 10 is present at both ends of the wire strip 9. Each tooth-free end section 10 has an end face 12 and a surface section 23 pointing in the direction of the teeth 17 and inclined towards them. This inclined surface section 23 thus extends at an oblique angle to the lower edge of the respective foot 11.

This locking piece 4 has a foot 5 which has projections 20 on both sides. As can be seen from FIG. 1, the locking piece 4 is pushed into the T-shaped longitudinal groove 3, its projections 20 in particular engaging in the grooves 19. The locking piece 4 has on both sides a projection 21 with an end face 24 and a sloping surface section 22. The end face 24 of the locking piece 4 is aligned with the end face 12 of each wire strip 9 and the inclined surface section 22 of the locking piece 4 is aligned with the inclined surface section 23 of the wire strip 9. This means that the toothless section 10 of the wire strip 9 has the same cross-sectional shape as that has respective projections 21 of the locking piece 4.

It is now evident that the locking piece 4 must on the one hand rest properly on the wire strip 9 arranged adjacent to it in order to be able to exert pressure on the wire strip package 14, and on the other hand must be securely locked at the end of the respective profile piece 1. In this regard, reference is made to FIG. 6. In the area of the foot 5 of the locking piece 4 is one Recess 8, for example a milling. However, this milling 8 does not extend over the entire thickness (seen in the longitudinal direction of the profile piece 1) of the locking piece 4, as is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. In addition to the milling 8, the locking piece 4 thus also has a flat bottom section 25.

Folglich berührt das Klebeband 16 an keiner Stelle das Profilstück 1.The individual wire strips 9, which together form the wire strip package 14, are arranged on an adhesive tape 16 (see FIG. 1), which adhesive tape 16 adheres to the respective foot 1 of the wire strips 9. The width of the adhesive tape 16 is smaller than the width of the T-shaped groove 3 and the thickness of the adhesive tape 16 is smaller than the depth of the groove 3. Consequently, the adhesive tape 16 does not touch the profile piece 1 at any point.

The wire strips 9 are thus initially held together by the adhesive tape 16, which allows the entire wire strip package 14 to be inserted more easily onto the profile piece 1.

When assembling the wire strips 9 held together by the adhesive tape 16 are placed on the profile piece 1. Then the locking piece 4 is inserted into the groove 3 and pressed against the wire strip package 14. The locking member 6 comes to lie in the milled area 8 for the time being and upon further pressing in, the flat bottom section 25 of the locking piece 4 moves onto the wedge-shaped projecting locking member 6 such that the locking piece 4 is clamped.

The opposite end of the profile piece 1 can have a fixed stop piece against which the wire strip package 14 is tensioned by the locking piece 4 or, alternatively, can also have a further wedge-shaped locking member 6 on the opposite side of the profile piece 1, in which case a second locking piece 4 is wedged.

This scratch fitting is then placed on the cast rod 18 and connected to it by means of the known clips 15. It should be noted that, according to FIG. 1, the side cheeks 2 are bent against the end faces 12 of the individual wire strips 9 and against the end faces 24 of the locking pieces, so that a lateral clamping of these parts is formed. The heights of these side cheeks 2 are somewhat smaller than those of the end faces 12 and 24, respectively. This ensures that the clips 15 can be brought securely to rest on the inclined surface sections 23 of the wire strips 9 or the inclined surface section 22 of the locking piece 4 . The consequence of this is that the profile piece made of cold-rolled or drawn aluminum or aluminum alloy is laterally protected from damage by the clips 15.
