Abstract

A curved corner bent from a hollow-profile construction to form a spacer frame of an insulating glazing, where an opening is provided in the inner wall and in the side walls of the hollow-profile construction in the corner zone, so that a free transverse edge on one side of the opening clamps over a free end portion on an opposite side of the opening when the hollow-profile construction is bent at a right angle to form the curved corner, and a process for the production of the corner, in which the opening is a rectangular cut-out into the inner wall and U-shaped cut-outs cut into the side walls, where the side walls are braced during the bending in such a way that the free transverse edge is guided onto the free end portion to provide flat side surfaces on the curved corner after the bending thereof.

Description

The invention relates to a curved corner of a spacer frame of insulating glazing with the features of the preamble of claim 1. The invention further relates to a method for producing this corner.

A curved corner of the generic type is known from EP-A-0.003 715. A disadvantage of this corner is that the webs between the incisions lead to undesirable and uncontrollable deformations in the corner area. These deformations can e.g. B. concave or convex curvatures in the inside wall of the hollow profiles or outwardly squeezed parts of the side walls, so that no flat side surfaces in the area of the curved corner for z. B. the circumferential butyl strips or the like sealants are given. Flat surfaces, especially in the corner area, are an important prerequisite for ensuring that the interior of the insulating glazing is sealed with the required quality against the outside atmosphere.

Flat surfaces are obtained with a curved corner according to US Pat. No. 3,380,145, in which miter cuts are produced, but the rigidity of the curved corner is very low because the corner region is only held with the outer wall. The low rigidity significantly affects the handling of the frame.

The object of the invention is to create a curved, very rigid corner with flat side surfaces and flat surfaces of the inside walls, the manufacture should be simple. It is also an object of the invention to provide a method for producing this corner.

This object is solved by the features of claims 1 and 9, respectively. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the dependent claims.

  • Fig. 2 schematisch einen Querschnitt durch das Abstandhalterprofil,
  • Fig. 3 eine Seitenansicht eines zu biegenden Eckbereichs,
  • Fig. 4 eine gebogene Ecke.
The invention is explained in more detail by way of example with reference to the drawing. Show it:
  • 1 schematically shows a side view of a spacer hollow profile frame for insulating glazing,
  • 2 schematically shows a cross section through the spacer profile,
  • 3 is a side view of a corner area to be bent,
  • Fig. 4 is a curved corner.

The spacer hollow profile frame, which is preferably in one piece and filled with adsorbent, has four curved corners 1, 2, 3 and 4, which are of identical design. In the region of the abutting edges 6, the frame 5 is firmly joined together, for example by an injected plug and / or plug (not shown). In the inside wall 7, the frame 5 has holes 8 known per se, which mediate the gas exchange of the interior of the insulating glazing with the drying agent or adsorbent in the cavity of the profile frame 5.

The profile frame 5 has flat side walls 9 and 10, a flat inner wall 7 arranged at right angles to the side walls and an outer wall 11.

It is essential that in the corner region 12 of the interior 13 of the frame 5 the free transverse edge 15 of a wall 7 overlaps a free end region 14 of the wall 7a extending at right angles to the wall 7 (FIG. 4), so that the region 14 in the interior of the hollow profile comes to lie. When bending the corner, care is taken to ensure that flat surfaces are preserved in the side walls in the corner area.

The solution according to the invention is achieved by introducing an opening 16, preferably by milling, into the hollow profile 5a (FIG. 3), which projects into the side walls and preferably has a rectangular shape in the wall 7 and, viewed from the side, an angular U-shape in the walls 9 and 10.

The opening 16 should have a length "b" which is less than the depth "T" of the profile 5 a. The difference is the supernatant 14. The ratio b to T is preferably 1: 1.1 to 1: 1.5. The depth of the angular U-shape of the opening 16 in the side walls 9, 10 is preferably deeper than the wall thickness of the profile; it is preferably the 0.1-0.5th part of the width B of the walls 9, 10.

According to a special embodiment of the invention, the opening 16 in the side walls 9, 10 viewed from the side (FIG. 3) has an angular U-shape, the side edges 17 of which diverge towards the wall 7.

The length 1 and the bevel of the edges 17 and the depth of the angular, U-shaped cutout of the opening 16 in the side walls 9, 10 are coordinated with one another in such a way that in the curved corner in the side walls 9, 10, if possible, none of the cutouts for the opening 16 resulting holes are present in the side walls, ie that the side walls also form a flat, closed surface in the corner area. This is surprisingly achieved by the features according to the invention. It is advantageous if, when bending the corner, you ensure that the side walls find a fixed abutment.

A method for producing a corner according to the invention is characterized in that a rectangular cutout is made in the wall 7 of the spacer hollow profile 5a, which also extends partially in the side walls and creates angular, U-shaped cutouts there, and that the bending is then preferably carried out under Supporting the side walls is carried out in such a way that the free transverse edge 15 of a wall 7 is guided onto the wall 7a, whereby it projects beyond the free transverse edge 15a of the wall 7a by the projection 14, which, for. B. can be about 1 to 3 mm.

Because there is no longer any material in the opening 16 and the length of the opening is shorter than the depth of the hollow profile frame, there are no squeezing zones which could cause the wall 7 or 7a to bulge.

It is particularly advantageous if a plug and / or plug is injected into the bent corner according to a known method. This means that the dimensional stability of the corner can be increased considerably. By injecting the hot melt adhesive, unevenness in the walls of the hollow profile in the corner area can be pressed out.
