Description

The invention relates to a chair with a seat body rotatably mounted on a column and provided with a bearing recess for the upper end of the column and with a resilient locking element arranged in the bearing recess, which can be latched onto the column.

A chair of the type mentioned is known from DE-A-26 18 542. This chair has the disadvantage that the pillar end is mounted directly in the bearing recess of the seat body, the bearing recess being provided only with a plastic coating and the resilient coupling member being formed by a snap ring. In this chair is not only a speedy wear of the plastic coating of the bearing surface to be feared, but g and by the shape of the bearing end of the Stuhlsäuie and the bearing recess in the seat body, including the Lagerflächenbeschictitü a cumbersome manufacturing process n required. With the heavy loads to which the seat body of a swivel chair is exposed, securing the seat body on the column end of the chair by means of a snap ring is insufficient.

The invention has for its object to design a chair of the type mentioned so that it can be produced cheaper than previous chairs of this type while achieving a stable pivot bearing for the seat body.

The object is achieved with a chair of the type mentioned in the present invention in that the locking element consists of several resilient locking tongues which are arranged on a bearing cup inserted into the bearing recess of the seat body.

In a chair designed in accordance with the invention, the column and the seat body rotatably connected to it are thus captively connected to one another by a simple plug-in connection with locking device. The bearing cup with the coupling elements securing the plug connection. can be prefabricated extremely dimensionally, so that adjusting elements influencing the seat body seat, such as threaded clamping cones or the like, can be completely dispensed with. The resilient locking tongues result in a secure coupling, so that an undesired disengagement of the seat body from its storage when using the chair need not be feared. The column can expediently be made of a tube which is drawn in at its upper end and on which a peripheral web is formed as a locking projection at a distance from the drawn-in end by being pressed out. The bearing cup according to the invention is adapted not only in its cylindrical part, but also by rounding its bottom edge to the column with its retracted end, and the locking tongues are provided with grooves for receiving the peripheral web of the column. The bearing cup can be prefabricated from a high-quality, stable plastic material with good sliding properties, so that post-processing of this part can be completely omitted. The resilient locking tongues delimiting the opening edge of the bearing cup can be manufactured with such a high degree of rigidity that an absolutely secure and not involuntarily releasable locking connection is created. This connection can, but does not have to, be secured by a locking ring that prevents the latching tongues from spreading open.

Bei dem in Fig. 1b dargestellten Stuhl 10' ist auf dem Sitzkörper 15 eine Schale 20 ausgebildet, die sowohl die Sitzfläche 21 als auch eine Rückenlehnfläche 22 bildet.1a and 1b show two chairs 10 and 10 ', both of which have a central, length-adjustable chair column 12 resting on a foot star 11, on the upper end of which a seat body 14 or 15 with a bearing attachment 16 is rotatably arranged. In the chair 10 according to FIG. 1a, a backrest 17 is fastened to the seat body 14 via a connecting web 18, that is to say the chair seat 19 and backrest 17 are formed separately. In the chair 10 'shown in FIG. 1b, a shell 20 is formed on the seat body 15, which forms both the seat surface 21 and a backrest surface 22.

Am freiliegenden Öffnungsrand 25 des Lagernapfes 23 sind mehrere, über den Umfang der Öffnung gleichmäßig verteilte federnde Rastzungen 26 ausgebildet.2 and 3 show the rotary connection point of a seat body 14 molded from plastic, on which the bearing boss 16 is integrally formed. A bearing cup 23 prefabricated from a high-quality plastic material was firmly cast into the bearing shoulder 16 during the manufacture of the seat body 14, the outer ribs 24 of the bearing bowl 23 providing its secure anchoring in the bearing shoulder 16. On the exposed opening edge 25 of the bearing cup 23, a plurality of resilient latching tongues 26 are formed which are evenly distributed over the circumference of the opening.

The bearing cup 23 is dimensionally adapted to the upper end 13 of the column 12 of the chair 10, 10 ′ made from a tube, including a rounding 27 on the edge of the cup base 28. This rounding 27 is in line with the rounding of the inwardly curved edge 29 of the column 12 customized. In the end region 13 of the tubular column 12, a ratchet web 30 starting from the bulge is formed by pressing it out, which fits into a matching groove 31 in FIG Latches 26 of the bearing cup 23 fits. To connect the column 12 to the seat body 14, the column 12 is inserted with the bent end 29 of its end section 13 into the opening of the bearing cup 23 until the latching web 30 engages in the receiving groove 31 of the latching tongues 26. The latching tongues can then be secured in their latching position by pushing on a locking ring 32 arranged concentrically on the column 12. Such a circlip is indicated in Fig. 2 with dash-dotted lines. This locking ring can also have an internal thread with which it can be screwed onto peripheral projections of the locking tongues 26, which are not shown.

The embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 differs from the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3 by a seat support in the form of a metal plate 33 which is provided with a bulge 34 delimiting a circular opening at the location of the bearing recess. A support disk 35 is inserted into this bulge and connected to the carrier plate 33 by an annular weld 36. The inward edge 37 of the bulge 34 protrudes into a suitable outer groove of a bearing cup 23 'which is inserted into the bearing recess of the carrier plate 33 and is in turn made of a high-quality plastic and which also bears against the upwardly bent edge 39 of the support disk 35. Otherwise, the bearing cup 23 'is of the same design as the bearing cup 23 according to the exemplary embodiment in FIGS. 2 and 3. The corresponding parts in FIGS. 3 and 4 are therefore supplemented with the same reference numerals as in FIGS. 2 and 3 indicated by an index line. The tubular column 12 'is also designed with its end section 13' the same as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3.
