Durch Verdrehen des Drehknopfes 8 wird die Mutter 23 in Achsrichtung der Gewindespindel verschoben, wobei über den Kurvenabschnitt 22 das Schwenkteil 12 verschwenkt wird. Dabei ist es auch möglich, am Kurvenabschnitt ein Eingriffsteil, beispielsweise eine Nut, vorzusehen, die mit einem entsprechenden Eingriffsteil, beispielsweise einem Zapfen, an der Mutter 23 in Eingriff steht, so daß es für die Schwenkbewegung des Schwenkteiles 12 um die Achse 7 keiner Federbeaufschlagung des Schwenkteils 12 bedarf. Claims (6)

  1. Adjustable backrest of a chair, armchair or the like, comprising a deformable pressure plate (5) arranged in the supporting surface (4) of the backrest (1), which plate is deformable or adjustable respectively relative to the other supporting surface (4) by an adjustment means (8, 12) operable from outside, wherein the pressure plate (5) covered by the cover textile (6) of the backrest (1) is fastened at a swingable member (12) which is swingably disposed in the backrest (1), and wherein the adjustment means has a spindle (25) rotatably disposed in a holder (21) and provided with a threaded portion, which spindle (25) is rotatable from outside by a rotary button (8) and engages with a nut (23) which is strutted not rotatably at the holder (21),

    the nut (23) abuts against a curve portion (22) of the swingable element (12) which is swingably disposed in the holder (21).
  2. Backrest according to claim 1,
    characterized in that

    the pressure plate (5) is provided in the upper portion with recesses (9) for the embodiment of lamellas (10).

    the upper edge of the pressure plate (5) is supported by a support means (27, 29).
  5. Backrest according to claims 1 to 4,

    the swingable part (12) is provided with two lateral support arms (26), against which the pressure plate (5) abuts or where it is fastened respectively, wherein between the support arms (26) the curve portion (22) is embodied.
