Definitions
- the present invention relates to a process for bleaching cellulosic or cellulosic-synthetic fibers by means of oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, persalts, sodium peroxide in the presence of particles of iron or ferrous metals.
- oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, persalts, sodium peroxide in the presence of particles of iron or ferrous metals.
- the metal particles catalyze the decomposition of the oxidizer used for bleaching, causing damage to the fibers by the formation of oxycellulose. These alterations are located at the places where the catalyst adheres to the fiber. They are manifested by the formation of holes in the form of dots or lines, the rest of the fabric can be absolutely correct.
- this treatment consumes energy And its effectiveness may be limited because the water which is used in the subsequent rinsing operation may contain traces of rust.
- the present invention overcomes these defects and provides an economical process for bleaching textiles without any degradation, in the presence of iron and rust particles, characterized by the addition to the bleaching bath containing an oxidant, of a formulation of the following type :
- the oxidizer of the bleaching bath can, for example, be chosen from hydrogen peroxide, persalts and sodium peroxide.
- the present invention is surprising in view of the state of the art in the field of bleaching. Indeed, the Belgian patent n ° 789 699 of LAPORTE concerning bleaching compositions based on hydrogen peroxide indicates that the baths are less effective when added disodium phosphate. There was therefore a prejudice to overcome in order to carry out the present invention.
- the process of the invention makes it possible to bleach fabrics made of cellulosic or mixed cellulose-synthetic fibers without any degradation in the presence of iron and rust particles.
- the method of the invention further allows to achieve desizing-bleaching simultaneously pre - presence of amylase.

Abstract
Description
- - Technologie Chimico-tcxtile. Blanchiment - teinture. Impression en Apprêts tome 1er par Gustave CAPRCN.
- - Textile Chemistry - Impureties in fibres. Purification of fibres par R. H. PETERS - Vol. II p. 11 (1969).
- - The principles of bleaching and finishing of cotton - 3ème éd. par S. R. TROTMAN M. A. FIC. p. 510 (1927).
