Claims (6)

1. A fastener driving tool for fastening means, in particular for staples, nails, etc., comprising a housing with a power-driven driving plunger (12) arranged therein, a tool portion (13) arranged at the housing comprising a driving channel (11) with the driving plunger (12) guided therein during the driving operation, a magazine (17) for the fastening means with the fastening means advanced therein with the aid of a spring-biased feeder in the direction of the driving channel (11), and a reset member (19) adapted to be actuated by an actuation portion (20) and having a cam (21) projecting into a recess (24) of the tool portion (13), said cam (21) with the reset member (19) in a first position being disposed on the side opposite the magazine (17) outside the driving channel (22) and releasing the advance of the respective foremost fastening means into the driving channel (22) and in the second position engages at the respective foremost fastening means preventing the advance thereof into the driving channel (22), characterized in that the first position of the cam (21) is its normal position, the cam being adapted to be brought into the second position by the manually operated actuation portion (20) and said cam in the second position likewise releasing the driving channel (21) for any number of driving beats of the driving plunger (12) that may be desired.
2. A driving tool according to claim 1, characterized in that the reset member is a one-piece slide (19) which is slidably supported at the magazine (17) or at the tool portion (10) and comprises an outward pointing actuation portion (20).

A driving tool according to claim 2, characterized in that the tool portion (10) comprises a structural member (13) which is U-shaped in cross section and is slipped on from the front to have its legs (15, 16) disposed laterally in close contact against the magazine (17), the slide (19) being slidably supported at one leg (15) and the cam (21) being passed through a recess (22) of the leg (15) and when in its normal position being disposed in a recess (24) of the web (14) of the U-shaped structural member (13).
4. A driving tool according to any one of the claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the reset member (19) is adapted to be located in its working position by arresting engagement.
5. A driving tool according to claim 4, characterized in that the arresting engagement cannot be overcome by the feeding power of the spring at the feeder, but may be released by manual operation.
6. A driving tool according to any one of the claims 2 to 5, characterized in that the slide (19) is formed in one piece of synthetic material.
