Wood is indeed, if properly treated an excellent reinforcing material, both resistant, flexible and elastic, light and relatively inexpensive. On the other hand, it tends to play, in particular according to the variations of relative humidity to which it can be subjected. The swelling of the wooden frames, if special precautions are not taken, can cause local cracks or breaks in the reinforced plastic molded part.
