Abstract

In a mast base arrangement for a surfboard having a mast base lower part which is disposed beneath a universal joint (5) and which engages in an opening of a connecting member on the surfboard side, the mast base lower part is provided with a lever (59) in order to facilitate the insertion of the mast base lower part into the opening of the connecting member.

Description

The invention relates to a mast foot assembly for a sail board, in which a connection piece is provided below the bottom part of the mast foot, which has a universal joint, for the connection between the mast and the sail board, which connection piece is designed in particular as a sliding carriage, the connection piece having an opening on the top into which the correspondingly shaped lower part of the mast foot can be inserted.

In particular, in the event that the connecting piece is designed as a sliding carriage, which makes it possible to vary the point of application of the attack force introduced by the mast on the sail board during sailing, the axial length of the lower part of the mast base is designed to be extremely short for constructional reasons, i. H. on the order of a few centimeters. In particular, an axial length of the lower part of the mast foot of a maximum of approximately 2.5 cm is possible with certain slides.

In diesem. With such a short lower part of the mast foot, this is no longer sufficient as a lever, for example to be able to reinsert the lower part of the mast foot into the opening on the water, since the spring forces of the universal joint, which is usually designed as a rubber block, must be overcome to bend the lower part of the mast base relative to the mast. In this case, the restoring forces caused by the rubber joint must be used to insert the mast foot below partly to be overcome in the opening of the sled, since, for example, in the case of a rig lying flat on the water to insert the lower part of the mast base, this must be bent by more than 90 ° relative to the mast.

The invention is therefore based on the object of providing an arrangement which enables or facilitates the insertion of the lower part of the mast foot into the opening of the connecting piece even in cases in which the mast is opposite the axis of the opening of the connecting piece, ie. H. essentially in relation to the perpendicular to the sailing board, in a clearly angled position.

This object is achieved in that the mast foot lower part is connected to a lever which extends essentially in the radial direction to the longitudinal axis of the connecting piece or the universal joint. By means of such a lever, the rubber joint can then be easily bent by hand to insert the lower part of the mast foot.

Further advantageous features of the invention emerge from the subclaims. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the drawing. The drawing shows:
  • Fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view of the mast base assembly, and
  • FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the slide, the lower part of the mast foot, the lever and the lower part of the universal joint according to FIG. 1.

Die Masthülse 3 bildet wie üblich das Mastfußoberteil.1 shows a section of a sailing board 1, on the deck surface 2 of which a rig (not shown in detail) is held in the longitudinal direction of the sailing board 1 by means of a mast foot arrangement. The rig itself is carried by the mast socket 3, on which che the lower end of the usually hollow mast is pushed on and connected to the mast sleeve 3 by tightening the luff extension of the sail, not shown, against an eyelet 4 on the mast sleeve. As usual, the mast sleeve 3 forms the upper part of the mast foot.

A universal joint 5 is provided below the upper part 3 of the mast base, which is formed by a rubber element or silent block, which is connected to the individual parts of the mast base, for example, by screw connections. The universal joint 5 is connected to a lower part of the mast foot, which can be releasably inserted into a carriage 6 in the manner of a safety binding.

As illustrated in FIG. 1, the sled 6 is bound and can be moved along a rail 7, which is connected to the sail board 1, for example, by means of screws 9 accommodated in the rail by holes 8. The carriage 6 can be fixed in any position by a coupling device, generally designated 10. The coupling device 10 sits at the rear end of the rail 7 and acts on a connecting element connected to the slide 6, the remote action of which fixes the slide in the desired position.

The connecting element, generally designated 1.1., Is designed as an enveloping drive and in particular a cable drive 12. The cable drive 12 is formed in that one end of a cable 13, starting from a fastening device 14 on the slide 6, is placed around a deflection roller 15 which is rotatably mounted in the region of the front end of the rail 7. Subsequently, the cable 13 leads to the rear, a holder or guide 16, through which the cable 13 is additionally guided, advantageously being provided in the carriage itself, to a further rear deflection roller 17, which is arranged behind the coupling device 10. The rope 13 is again from the deflection roller 17 led forward to the fastening device 14 on the carriage 6. The fastening device 14 holds both free ends of the rope 13. In this way, an endless loop of the cable 13 is produced in the form of an enveloping drive, which is firmly connected to the carriage 6 at one point, namely on the fastening device 14. Therefore, if the carriage 6 is moved forward or backward along the rail 7, the strands 18, 19 of the cable drive move accordingly in the opposite direction to one another, the cable 13 being able to slide freely on the carriage 6 through the guide 16, and because of the rotatable mounting the deflection rollers 15 and 17, which are preferably designed as rope pulleys, operate comparatively smoothly.

In the embodiment according to the invention illustrated in FIG. 1, the coupling device 10 is designed as a pawl arrangement 20, the pawl 21 of which is provided with a large footplate 22, by means of which the pawl 21 can be pivoted and thereby releases the cable drive 12. The pawl 21 is spring biased in the closing direction.

In order to ensure that the cable 13 is held securely in the blocking position of the pawl arrangement 20, it is designed in such a way that it acts on both strands 18 and 19 of the cable drive 12. For this purpose, the pawl 21 is fork-shaped at its closing end and has two coupling arms 23, 24, which are provided at their ends facing the cable 13 with coupling surfaces explained in more detail below. The arrangement is such that the coupling arms 23, 24 and the associated coupling surfaces are shaped and directed in such a way that, regardless of the direction in the case of tensile forces in the strands 18 and 19, the clamping force exerted on the cable drive 12 of at least one of the coupling arms 23 or 24 is reinforced.

The rail 7 with the deflecting rollers 15 and 17 and the coupling device 10 forms a compact unit which is installed in a correspondingly shaped recess 25 in the deck surface 2 of the sail board 1, so that essentially only the base plate 22 of the coupling arrangement 10 projects beyond the deck surface .

Since in the construction of mast foot assemblies with a slide that is tied to the surfboard on the rail 7, for safety reasons it must nevertheless be possible to separate the mast foot and the sail board in order to avoid injuries due to pinching body parts between the mast and the deck surface, as with reference to FIG 2 is explained in more detail, the mast foot arrangement according to the invention is also designed in such a way that the lower part 34 of the mast foot (FIG. 2) and thus the entire rig can be separated from the slide 6 in the manner of a safety binding.

For this purpose, the carriage 6 is provided on the top with an opening 35, the opening 35 in the exemplary embodiment being formed so as to extend to the rail 7. The opening 35 has a diameter corresponding approximately to the diameter of the lower part of the mast foot, the lower part 34 of the mast foot being able to snap into the opening 35 of the slide 6. For this purpose, the mast foot lower part 34, which is designed as a short, essentially cylindrical metal pin with a rounded end, is provided with an annular groove 36. At a distance above the annular groove 36, the lower part 34 of the mast foot has an annular flange 37 which rests on the upper side of the slide 6 when the lower part 34 of the mast is fully inserted in the opening 35. The total weight of the rig and mast foot is therefore transferred over a large area from the ring flange 37 to the slide 6.

At a distance from the top of the slide corresponding to the distance between the ring flange 37 and the ring groove 36 In the carriage 6, two horizontal slots 38 are provided which penetrate the opening 35 and are open to the latter, wherein a spring element (not shown) can be inserted into these slots, the legs of which snap into the annular groove 36.

The lower part of the mast foot 34 is rigidly connected to a large-area lever 59 such that when the lower part of the mast foot is not in the opening, the lower part of the mast foot is pivoted relative to the upper region of the mast foot or relative to the rig by pivoting the lever 59. The lever 59 is preferably made of plastic and overlaps the annular flange 37 of the lower part of the mast foot with a lower annular space 60. According to one exemplary embodiment, the connection between lever 59 and lower part of the mast base can be made by press-fitting the annular flange 37 in the annular space 60. According to another exemplary embodiment, the connection between lever 59 and lower part 34 of the mast base can be made by tightening the lever 59 against the lower part 34 of the mast base by means of the screw connection 61, the screw connection 61 simultaneously establishing the connection to the universal joint. In this context, it is advantageous to provide a disk 62 in order to ensure that the lever 59 can be rotated relative to the lower part 34 of the mast base.

While in FIG. 1 the lever 59 is shown arranged transversely to the direction of displacement of the slide, in the illustration according to FIG. 2 it is shown pivoted parallel to the direction of displacement of the slide. In the position essentially shown in FIG. 1, the lever is immediately after the lower part of the mast foot has been inserted and the rig is located essentially next to the board, while the lever then, as shown by the arrow below the lever 59 in FIG 2 can be pivoted, which has the .. advantage that the lever in this longitudinal position less hindered and that he at the same time in this position protects the components underneath it.
