Description

The invention relates to an arrangement of a double fan in a receiving part according to the preamble of claim 1.

In recent times, passenger cars in particular have been designed to be increasingly wedge-shaped in order to achieve a favorable drag coefficient. If the cooler for the internal combustion engine is to be accommodated in the area of the front of the vehicle, this tendency is undesirable because the height of the cooler has to be reduced. Compensation over a larger width usually requires a second fan.

In the known arrangements of this type, a fan is driven by the internal combustion engine; The second fan is driven by a belt which engages with pulleys attached to the two fans. A belt tensioner is provided to generate the desired '* - belt tension.

The invention has for its object to effect belt tension in a generic arrangement of a double fan with simple means.

The object is achieved in that, when the belt is mounted, the webs of the receiving part which support the bearings of the axes of rotation of the pulleys are elastically deformable in such a way that the distance between the axes of rotation on the belt pulleys is less than when the belt is removed when the belt is installed.

The proposed arrangement ensures that the required belt pretension is generated solely by the receiving part and that a separate belt tensioner is not required. The adjustment of the belt tension can also be omitted. The pretension of the belt is given by design and is essentially only influenced by the tolerance of the belt. If a corresponding length tolerance of the belt is specified, sufficient belt tension is ensured over the entire running time of the belt, since the known belts used for this purpose (mostly V-belts) lengthen only very slightly during the entire running time and therefore have an effective influence on the belt tension to take.

The individual elements of the receiving part which can be elastically deformed in order to achieve a tension can be produced directly through the areas of the receiving part which are not defined on other body parts if the latter consists of a material with corresponding elastic properties (e.g. sheet metal or plastic). However, it is also possible to specifically design certain sections of the receiving part for this purpose or to create an area suitable for elastic deformation by interposing a suitable component made of another material.

The claim 2 characterizes a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention for creating elastically deformable elements of the receiving part. The proposed webs are particularly suitable for this, since they are located near the axes of rotation of the pulleys and, moreover, are not fixed to other vehicle parts like the air guide screed forming the receiving part. The elastic deformation of the webs ensures that the axes of rotation of the pulleys move towards each other at an acute angle. Since this is only necessary to a small extent to achieve the desired belt pretension, this has hardly any influence on the drive; especially not if a V-belt is used.

The air control scoop can be composed of several parts and made of different materials (e.g. plastic). It is particularly advantageous if the air guide scraper and the webs are made in one piece as a pressed sheet metal part. This training ensures a particularly cost-effective production and also provides sufficient elastic properties through the material used for the prestressing. Tests have shown that - apart from the distance of the axis of rotation - no special measures are necessary to ensure the desired belt tension for a long running time.

  • Fig. 2 die Ansicht Z der Luftleithutze aus Fig. 1.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows
  • Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an air guide with two fans connected by a belt and
  • 2 shows the view Z of the air guiding scoop from FIG. 1.

An air guide 3 shown in Fig. 1 for attachment to the radiator of a motor vehicle is equipped with two fans 5 and 7. The air guide scoop 3 is pressed in one piece from sheet metal and is provided with fastening holes 9 at its edges. The approximately rectangular inlet opening 11 is adapted approximately to the circumference of the cooler, not shown in the drawing. Another feature of the air guide scoop 3 are two circular outlet openings 13 and 15, the diameter of which is slightly larger than the diameter of the associated fans 5 and 7. Each fan 5 and 7 carries a pulley 17 and 19, which are connected to each other via a belt 21. The fan 5 is driven directly by an electric motor 23, on the outlet shaft of which the fan 5 and the pulley 17 are fastened. Via the belt 21 and the belt pulley 19, the fan 7 is driven indirectly and at a slightly different speed due to the unequal diameter of the belt pulleys 17 and 19, which brings acoustic advantages.

As can be seen directly from FIG. 2, bent webs 25 are integrally formed on the air guide scoop 3, which protrude into the outlet openings 13 and 15 and merge into an annular flange 27 and 29. The electric motor 23 is fixed on the ring flange 27 by means of tabs 31 attached to it by screws 33. The ring flange 29 receives a bearing part 35 for the fan 7.

To achieve a pretension for the belt 21, the structural distance between the axes of rotation of the fans 5 and 7 is greater when the belt 21 is not mounted than when the belt 21 is applied. The belt 21 is placed on a pulley and applied by pressing on the edge of the end face of the other pulley while rotating the fan - which is easily possible by hand is - then the webs 25 deform elastically and cause the pretension of the belt 21st
