Definitions

  • the invention relates to a round shank chisel, in particular for partial cutting machines in mining and tunneling, which consists of a shank which can be exchangeably fastened in a chisel holder and has a hard metal cutting edge arranged at the tip of the shank outside the chisel holder, as explained in the preamble of claim 1.
  • the cutting heads of partial-cut tunneling machines from extraction machines and other cutting machines, in particular in mining and tunneling, the construction industry and other industries, are equipped with chisels which can be exchangeably mounted in the tool holders welded onto the cutting heads.
  • chisels which can be exchangeably mounted in the tool holders welded onto the cutting heads.
  • picks are rotatably arranged within the bit holder.
  • the shaft chisel can be used in the chisel holder in such a way that it has a certain play both over its circumference and in the direction of its longitudinal axis relative to the chisel holder, which allows rotation.
  • the high wear caused by jamming a chisel can also occur due to the fact that fine rock powder penetrates into the annular gap between the chisel shaft and the chisel, briquettes there and finally increases the friction to such an extent that rotation of the chisel is excluded.
  • the required pressure is usually generated by high pressure pumps.
  • high-pressure pumps In addition to high-pressure pumps, corresponding high-pressure hoses or lines and complex seals are required in order to spray the high-pressure water through appropriate nozzles (see EP-A-0010534).
  • the invention has for its object to provide a round chisel that with the constantly repeated intervention in the mineral can thereby largely affect the occlusion affected and which, depending on its intervention in the rock, is also automatically supplied with the necessary high-pressure water for cooling.
  • the chisel holder can be closed at the lower end by means of a stopper and the chisel shaft in the chisel holder is designed to be displaceable by means of a clamping element and a guide, the cavity provided between the stopper and the end of the shaft via channels provided with a check valve Water is supplied which, when the chisel engages with the mineral to be cut, is sprayed as high pressure water via lines and nozzles.
  • the chisel is provided with a hard metal cutting edge, at least partially surrounding the shank outside of the chisel holder, designed as a sleeve, with a water channel with a pressure relief valve arranged centrally in the shank being provided in the shank is.
  • the technical progress of the invention is essentially due to the fact that the damping allows an adaptation to the intervention in the mineral and thus reduces the previous impact effects to a large extent.
  • the energy extracted from the chisel by damping is used to pressurize the water supplied at low pressure to high pressure.
  • the high-pressure water used for the round-shaft chisel also flushes the annular gap between the chisel shaft and the chisel holder of rock powder or is sprayed through additional nozzles for cooling.
  • FIG. 1 shows a chisel 1 mounted in a chisel holder 4, which is displaceably mounted in the chisel holder 4 in the axial direction with its shank 3 which has a smaller diameter than the cutting edge.
  • the bit 1 is designed as a round shank chisel, the cutting edge 2 being shaped as a sleeve 20.
  • the shaft 3 of the chisel. 1 is provided with a clamping element 6, can be inserted into the chisel holder 4 and can be displaced over the length of the guide 7 due to the ring-like guide 7.
  • the lower end of the chisel holder 4 is closed with the aid of a plug 5.
  • the stopper 5 ending in a screw head 14 is screwed into the lower end of the bit holder 4 with the aid of a thread 15.
  • the water required for cooling is fed under line pressure of, for example, 10 bar via the channel 10 provided in the chisel holder 4 as well as an annular channel 11 and a supply channel 12 to the cavity 9, which is supplied between the plug 5 and the cavity 9, which between the plug 5 and the lower end 8 of the chisel shaft 3 is provided.
  • a check valve 13 is provided in the feed channel 12.
  • a water channel 16 is provided centrally, which ends with a nozzle 17 within the sleeve-like cutting edge 2.
  • a pressure relief valve 18 is connected upstream of the water channel 16.
  • the operation of the chisel 1 shown in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1 is as follows: Low-pressure water is pressed into the cavity 9 through the channel 10 in the chisel holder 4 and the channels 11, 12 within the stopper 5. If the chisel 1 is not in engagement with the mineral, the water pressure acts on the shaft end 8 and displaces the chisel 1 in the axial direction until the clamping element 6 strikes the upper end of the guide 7. During this time, the pressure relief valve 18 remains closed. When the chisel 1 or the cutting edge 2 is in engagement with a mineral, the chisel 1 is pressed against the water in the cavity 8.
  • the water is pressurized in the space 9 and flows through the pressure relief valve 18 into the channel 16 and the nozzle 17 at high speed onto the surfaces to be cooled.
  • a small part of the water biased in this way is pressed out over the annular gap formed between the chisel shaft 3 and the chisel holder 4, so that the high-pressure water exerts a flushing, lubricating and additionally damping effect.
  • the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 2 takes into account the shape of another chisel 1 which is equipped with a conventional cutting edge 2. Since no central water channel 16 is provided, the water required for cooling is led to the nozzle 17 via at least one water channel 16 provided in the bit holder 4. Here too, in order to ensure water atomization only when the chisel 1 engages with a mineral and at the same time to achieve a damping effect for the chisel 1, the water is sprayed off via a pressure relief valve 18.
  • FIG. 3 a further variant of a chisel 1 mounted in a chisel holder 4 is shown, the cutting edge 2 of which is tubular in connection with the shaft 3.
  • the annular channel 19 provided between the chisel holder 4 and the shaft 3 is used for atomizing the prestressed water, the opening at the end of the chisel holder 4 being shaped as a natural nozzle 17 which surrounds the chisel 1 High pressure water splashed.
  • any chisel shapes can be used, it being regarded as a prerequisite for damping that a damping space with a corresponding water supply is present below the end of the shaft, and that if the chisel engages in the mineral, a possibility is created of spraying the water which has been prestressed in this way via appropriate channels and nozzles to be fitted inside or above the chisel in the area of the chisel holder.
