Description

The invention relates to a watch band with a closure, which is designed so that the closure part at one end of the watch band has a cutout and the closure part at the other end of the watch band has an extension which fits into the cutout so that it is in its plane cannot be twisted and / or moved.

A watch band with a closure is known (GB-A-2 087 471 in which the closure part has a tongue at one end of the watch band, which is hooked from above into a recess made in the closure part at the other end of the watch band and by moving it horizontally below The closure is closed with a lid which is articulated on the closure part to be hooked in and which latches with a nose on the inside of the recess in the other closure part.

A disadvantage of this closure is the design of the receiving closure part, which, with its numerous walls and projections and the slot for fastening the watch band or the openings at the end of the closure part and under the stepped walls for the passage of the watch band, is technically complex and costly. The closure is relatively flat and adapts its width essentially to the course of the watch band, but is still about twice as thick as the watch band and, as a separately inserted part, does not form an element that is fully integrated into the watch band. The clasp has been specially developed for braided watch straps, the halves of which are attached to the closure parts e.g. be soldered on or fastened with screws from below, since it is assumed that a fastener fastened with hinges and pins to the watch band halves is several times thicker than the watch band.

From the Swiss patent specifications CH-A-563 742 and CH-A-563 743, watch straps with closures are known, in which one closure part has a hook-like extension which is passed through a column in the other closure part and is hung in a slot. A rotatable bolt provided with a semicircular plate or nose is fitted inside the receiving closure part. By turning the bolt, the plate or nose pushes over the hook-like extension and secures it against falling out.

In these closure constructions, the hanging of the extension on the one closure part in the receiving closure part is tedious, especially when the watch band is turned over, because the hook-like extension has to be carried out through a narrow gap with relatively little play. In order to open or close the lock of these closures, an aid is also required, e.g. a coin or something like that. In addition, the watch strap and clasp are designed differently, so that the clasp clearly stands out from the watch strap and the clasp and watch strap do not form a harmonious unit.

The use of hinge connections in watch straps in which the hinge tubes are soldered is generally known. With the small dimensions, which are becoming increasingly extreme with today's super-flat watch straps, this process is problematic because it requires the most careful work. Despite all care, an expensive post-treatment is required in most cases. Due to the high temperatures that occur during soldering, the metal in the vicinity of the solder joint can become discolored. This is also a particular problem with watch straps that have a rolled gold double layer on the top, which due to its better quality and wearing properties compared to a galvanically applied gold layer is often used for watch bands. After-treatment is naturally particularly expensive here.

The invention aims to eliminate the above-mentioned shortcomings with regard to a two-part closure and the hinge tube fastening. The invention, as shown in the claims, solves the problem of creating a watch strap, the closure of which consists of a few, simply constructed and inexpensive to manufacture construction elements which are easy to assemble. The clasp should fit inconspicuously and harmoniously into today's preferred super-flat watch straps and be easy to open and close without tools. Furthermore, the attachment of hinge tubes is shown, which is advantageous and easy to use even with extremely small dimensions.

The advantages of the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that, due to the exact fit of the fastener parts embodied in the thickness of the watch strap, the closure is extremely flat and its outer design fits like a link in the watch strap. Only the thin plate used to fix the clasp protrudes beyond the level of the watch strap / clasp. The even thinner delimiting plate lying on the underside of the closure part extension is not visible at all when the watch strap is folded over and plays no role as far as the thickness of the closure is concerned. The two parts of the fastener to be connected are laid into one another over a relatively large area, and no narrow gaps make the hanging difficult. Furthermore, the method of attaching the hinge tubes by laser welding is extremely advantageous since the focal spot of the laser beam is extremely small, and. the welding spot can be precisely positioned even with small dimensions of the hinge tubes. The energy can be varied over a wide range as required, can be precisely metered and concentrated on the point to be welded, so that the risk of Overheating of neighboring areas is switched off. The hinge tubes are securely and securely attached, even on watch bands with rolled gold plating, and withstand the stresses of wearing the watch band.

The closure of the watch band according to the invention consists of two closure parts 4 and 5, which are each attached to the ends of the halves 1 and 2 of the watch band. The closure part 4 at the band end 1 is provided with a cutout 9, which in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 has the shape of a hammer head. The other closure part 5 has an extension 10, which corresponds to the hammer head shape of the cutout 9. To connect the two closure parts 4 and 5, the hammer-head-shaped extension 10 is hung into the cutout 9 from below. The tabs 11, 11 'at the exit of the cutout 9 form a lock for the hammer-head-shaped extension 10 located therein, so that it cannot be moved in its plane.

The closure part extension 10 has an opening 12 in which a shaft 13 is mounted, on the underside of which a preferably round plate 14 is fastened. This plate 14 limits the way downward when the closure part 4 provided with the cutout 9 is hung in. Both closure parts 4 and 5 are therefore in one plane. At the upper end of the shaft 13 there is a plate 15 which essentially corresponds to the hammer head shape of the closure part extension 10. This plate 15 serves to fix the closure. If the plate 15 is rotated by 90 °, it covers the tabs 11, 11 'on one side and on the other side protrudes beyond the hammer-head-shaped cutout 9 with the closure part extension 10 located therein, so that the closure part 4 no longer lifts off can be.

The shaft 13 has a transverse bore 16 which carries resilient locking elements, e.g. a coil spring 17, at the two ends of which metal balls 18, 18 'are seated, which engage in grooves 19 of the opening 12 in the hammer-head-shaped closure part extension 10 and fix the plate 15 when rotating in the closed position parallel to the hammer-head-shaped closure part extension 10 and in the lock-locking position at right angles thereto (Fig. 2). In order to facilitate the actuation of the top plate 15 to fix the closure, the plate 15 (25, 40) has sloping flanks 20 on its underside in all versions. This makes it easier to grip the plate 15 and also pulls away when it is twisted from their locking position.

In another embodiment of the closure according to FIG. 4, the cutout 21 is formed in the one closure part 22 in the manner of a rod provided with teeth on both sides. The corresponding rack-shaped extension 23 on the closure part 24 can be hung in different positions in the cutout 21. This results in a certain length adjustability for the watch strap.

The mechanism for fixing the closure can be designed in the same way as described above, that is to say with an overlying plate mounted on a shaft which, when rotated through 90 °, lies transversely over the rack-shaped closure part extension 23 located in the cutout 21 of the closure part 22 and protrudes beyond with their ends, so that the closure part 22 with cutout 21, which rests below on a, as described above, attached to the lower end of the shaft limiting plate can no longer be lifted (Fig. 4).

In another embodiment of the mechanism for fixing the closure in this embodiment, a plate 25 which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction is attached to the rack-like closure part extension 23. The plate 25 corresponds to the rack shape of the closure part extension 23. If it is shifted by half a tooth repeat in one direction or the other, it covers the interlocking teeth of cutout 21 and extension 23, and the closure part 22 can no longer be lifted off.

The mechanism for fixing the plate 25 in the positions aligned with the teeth and shifted by half a tooth repeat is designed so that the shaft 26, on which the plate 25 is attached, has a rectangular cross-section and can be displaced in the slot-shaped opening 27 here is (Fig. 5). The shaft 26 has a transverse bore 28 through which a helical spring 29 is placed, at the ends of which there are metal balls 30, 30 '. When moving the top plate 25, these metal balls 30, 30 engage in pairs of grooves 31 and fix the plate 25 in the positions mentioned. Emblems 32 can be attached to the top plate 15, 25, 40.

In a further preferred embodiment, the closure part 33 is provided with a cutout 34 which is designed in the manner of a square which is rotated by 45 ° to the axes of the watch band. The other closure part 35 has an extension 36 which corresponds to the square shape of the cutout 34.

The closure part extension 36 has a round opening 37 in which a shaft 38 is mounted, on the underside of which a preferably round plate 39 is fastened, while at the upper end of the shaft 38 a rotatable plate 40 is attached to the square shape of the closure part extension 35.

The shaft 38 has a transverse bore 41 which carries resilient locking elements, e.g. a coil spring 42, at the ends of which metal balls 43, 43 'are seated. The opening 37 is provided with grooves 44.

To close the closure, the closure part 35 is hooked into the closure part 33 from below. The rotatable plate 40 is parallel to the closure part extension 36. The closure part extension 36 fits exactly into the cutout 34, the flanks 45, 45 'of which form the boundary in the horizontal direction. The round plate 39 limits the path of the closure part 33 downward, so that both closure parts 33 and 35 lie in one plane. The flat top plate 40, which protrudes only slightly beyond the closure height, is rotated by 45 ° for locking. The corners of the plate 40 cover the sides of the cutout 34 with the closure part extension 36 located therein, so that the closure part 33 can no longer be lifted off. The metal balls 43, 43 'located at the ends of the helical spring 42 snap into the grooves 44 provided in the opening 37 during rotation and fix the top plate 40 in the respectively desired position parallel to the square-shaped closure part extension 36 and rotated by 45 ° thereto.

The flanks 46 on the underside of the top plate 40 are in turn beveled.

Figures 10-12 illustrate how the links 3 and the fastener parts (e.g. 33) are interconnected and how the hinge tubes 7 used for the hinge connection are attached to the links 3 and to the fastener part 33, respectively.

As can be seen from FIG. 11, the rear wall 47 of the hinge tubes 7 is welded to the member 3 or closure part 33 on its contact surface in the recess 6. For this purpose, a laser beam 48 is shot obliquely into the openings of the hinge tubes 7 at both ends. Since the welding spot49 is extremely small, several welding spots can be placed side by side to increase durability.

The hinge tubes 7, which are fastened to the link 3 in FIG. 12, have 50 holes 51 on their front wall, which the laser beam 48, which was shot perpendicularly from the outside onto the hinge tubes 7, burned out. The rear wall 47 of the hinge tubes 7 is, as described above, welded in the weld spots 49 in the recesses 6 on the link 5 or closure part 33.
