Claims (7)

1. Sound-producing dummy for babies, comprising a rubber teat (1) mounted in a central passage through a safety guard (4) arranged transversely behind the teat, of the type in which said safety guard comprises two complementary shells shaped in such a manner as to define, when assembled, a hollow annular space containing small balls (6), characterised in that one of said shells (4a, 4b) is provided with at least one supplementary passage (7, 12) to permit the passage of air through the safety guard, with the other shell being provided with at least one circular flange (8) or part-circular flange (13a), the or each such flange being made of material and defining an orifice which is aligned with said passage (7) in said one shell and being in contact with the said one shell in such a way that the said supplementary passage traverses the said hollow space (5) in the safety guard (4) in a sealed manner.
2. Dummy in accordance with claim 1, characterised in that each supplementary passage (7, 12) has a circular shape and is situated between the teat and the edge of the safety guard.
3. Dummy in accordance with claim 1, characterised in that the safety guard (4) is of circular shape and is provided with two diametrically opposed supplementary passages (7, 12).
4. Dummy in accordance with claim 1, characterised by circular flanges (8) encircling the supplementary passages (7) and formed as cylindrical barrels.
