Abstract

The element (1) moulded from synthetic material has a thin wall (2) whose outer face has an attractive appearance which imitates traditional coverings (slates, tiles, etc.). Two consecutive ends of the element comprise profiles intended for assembly which form depressions with a U-shaped cross-section (12 and 15), which are open on the side of the outer face (3) and arranged in order to be communicating. The front and rear ends of the element have a tongue (16) which engages in a groove (17) on mounting. The groove (17) opens out into the transverse depression (12) with a U-shaped cross-section on the arm (10) of the U placed on the inner side of the element. This type of element is particularly advantageous for constructing building roofs. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a prefabricated element for the construction of covering panels, of the type comprising: a substantially planar wall, one face of which intended to be situated outside presents an aesthetic relief, possibly imitating the appearance of traditional coverings, and the other side, internal, comprises stiffening ribs, substantially parallel and oriented longitudinally along the line of greatest slope of the element, alone bearing on the support structure and delimiting free spaces between the wall and the support structure on the longitudinal dimension of the panel formed by the assembly of elements; means for assembling the element to other identical elements arranged side by side, essentially composed of interlocking complementary end profiles joined or attached; means for fixing the element to a support structure by means of the ribs on the internal face.

  • - une circulation d'air ascendante en sous-toiture évitant les phénomènes de condensation et augmentant le confort thermique du volume habitable concerné ;
  • - des liaisons et fixations des éléments permettant divers degrés de liberté pour absorber les dilatations ;
  • - un système de liaison entre les éléments, qui permet le drainage des eaux longitudinalement et transversalement;
The invention aims to make the best use of the advantages that such a design can offer during its use, these advantages being in particular:
  • - an ascending air circulation under the roof avoiding the phenomena of condensation and increasing the thermal comfort of the living space concerned;
  • - connections and fixings of the elements allowing various degrees of freedom to absorb expansions;
  • - a connection system between the elements, which allows water drainage longitudinally and transversely;
  • - a spacing of the support points on the supporting structure, chosen independently of that of the reliefs imitated from the external face of the element.

According to the present invention, it is sought in particular to avoid even better any formation of moisture under the internal face of the wall made up of elements, which is obtained not only by allowing the free circulation of ascending air, but by in addition a drainage of runoff water at the periphery of the element. To this end, the element of the invention is characterized in that the ends of the element, taken opposite two by two, have complementary profiles, transverse and parallel to the ribs, intended to fit one into the 'other to ensure assembly with other adjacent elements, two of said end profiles, placed consecutively on the periphery - of the element, being formed in the wall of the element by a depression with a U-section, open on the side of the external face and arranged so that the U-shaped depression of one communicates with the U-shaped depression of the other at their junction, at the notably upper angle of an element in situation.

This is how the runoff which arrives to infiltrate between the assemblies by interlocking of the elements, is recovered transversely and then collected longitudinally to the bottom of the panel thanks to the depressions with communicating U section. When runoff ceases, air circulation replaces water and participates in the drying by the internal face of wet sludge which can form with atmospheric dust at the joints of the elements.

In addition, the tightness of the transverse assembly is increased by completing the fitting by engagement in the plane and the thickness of the wall of the element, which provides the additional advantage of making the elements inseparable, particularly in the presence of wind. This assembly, by lateral engagement, is arranged so as to be carried out in the U-shaped transverse drainage conduit so as to ensure in all cases a recovery of water which could pass through the assembly joint.

To this end, the element comprises means for assembling two elements side by side by the ends transverse to the ribs, produced by the interlocking of complementary profiles, in particular of edges accommodating in a depression in U-shaped section, and supplemented by the engagement, in the direction substantially of the plane of the element, of a tongue in a groove which opens into the transverse depression of U-section and on the branch of the U placed on the inner side of the element.

Furthermore, the existence of the ribs has enabled the creation, for the element of the invention, of a simple system of attachment to the support structure. Advantageously, there are provided, in the thickness of the rib, fastening parts capable of cooperating, to immobilize the element, with parts integral with the support structure.

According to a preferred, but not limiting, embodiment, metal nuts are included in the core of the ribs. The element is then secured to the supporting structure using threaded rods screwed into the nuts on the side of the internal face. This type of attachment allows spacing of the support points on the supporting structure, chosen independently of the pitch of the relief drawings retained for the aesthetics of the external face of the element. For this purpose, at least two ribs of the element have locally, included in the core of the rib and opening on its edge, a fixing part, in particular a nut, which engages on another fixing part, in particular a threaded rod, integral with the support structure to immobilize the element in position.

According to a preferred variant, the retention of the element can be obtained by clamping it, by a lateral edge, against the supporting structure using a fitting lug secured to said structure. This clamping by simple support provides the degrees of freedom of the element, necessary to absorb the expansions. This clamping will advantageously be arranged on a complementary transverse profile which will be produced so as to integrate, then completely mask, the fitting behind the external surfaces of the assembled elements.

To this end, the element has complementary transverse assembly profiles which allow the element to be immobilized by clamping against the supporting structure of the outer branch of the U of the transverse depression, using the free tab d '' a bracket attached to the supporting structure. It is agreed that the prefabricated element, object of the invention, is designed, without this being limiting, for producing house roof panels. Due to the fixing system, the two elements at the roof ridge leave a space between them. It is therefore necessary to fill and seal this space and for this purpose the ridge piece is constituted by an angle iron covering the upper ends of the roofing panels and comprising, on the internal face of each of its wings, a profile intended to immobilize the ridge in position by engaging in a complementary profile made integral with each of the free edges of the panels.

  • La figure 1 est une vue en perspective avec coupe partielle d'un panneau de revêtement selon l'invention ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue latérale de deux éléments assemblés ;
  • la figure 3 est une vue d'extrémité montrant l'assemblage de deux panneaux consécutifs ;
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear during the description, given below by way of nonlimiting example with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view with partial section of a covering panel according to the invention;
  • Figure 2 is a side view of two assembled elements;
  • Figure 3 is an end view showing the assembly of two consecutive panels;
  • Figure 4 is a perspective view showing the clamping of an element on the support structure; and
  • FIG. 5 schematically represents a ridge element according to the invention.

In the example shown and described below, it will be understood, without this being limiting, that the prefabricated element that is the subject of the invention is designed to produce house roof panels.

In this regard, it will be indicated now that when we look at Figure 1, the ridge edge of the roof is up and the base of the roof down in the figure.

In the example shown, the prefabricated element has been generally designated at 1 and it has a square or substantially rectangular shape. The element molded in one piece from a synthetic material, reinforced or not, has a thin wall 2, a thickness of a few millimeters, whose external face 3 intended to be visible from the outside has a particular aesthetic appearance, imitating in the example shown a succession of overlapping slates, the reference 5 designating shoulders representing the visible edges of the slates. In addition, alternating grooves 4 are made in the external face 3, in the direction of the roof slope, to complete the imitation.

From the internal face 6 of the wall 2, a series of parallel ribs 7 extend in the direction of the slope of the roof. The ribs 9a and 9c form the opposite lateral edges of the element, while the ribs 7 designate the intermediate ribs. Advantageously, these ribs are formed in line with the grooves 4, so that the local weakening due to these grooves is largely compensated for by the extra thickness of the ribs 7.

La communication est établie par le passage 21.At the upper end of the element 1, intended to be mounted towards the roof, there is provided a profile constituted by a depression 12 in the shape of a U open towards the outside. This depression 12 has two partitions 10 and 11 substantially perpendicular to the wall 2. A groove 17, substantially parallel to the wall 2, opens into the partition 10 of the depression 12. This groove 17 is intended to receive the tongue 16 of the complementary profile from the other transverse end. The depression 12 communicates with the depression 15 of the lateral profile of the element. Communication is established by passage 21.

The water drained into the depression 12 is collected in the depression 15, after crossing the opening 21, to be discharged at the base of the roofing panel.

At the lower end of the element 1, a profile is provided consisting of a partition 8 substantially perpendicular to the wall 2 and a tongue 16 substantially parallel to the surface of the element. This partition 8 is intended to fit against the complementary partition 10, while the tongue 16 engages in the groove 17 of a transverse end of another element.

As seen particularly in Figures 1 and 2, the elements once in place complement each other perfectly and the drainage depression 12 is masked by the wall 2. The other partition 11 of the depression 12 is embedded in a notch 23 ribs 7, more particularly in the cutout 22. In another embodiment, the partition 11 could fit onto a complementary partition, on the underside of the element, connecting the lower ends of the ribs.

The assembly of the elements in the longitudinal direction of the roof is shown in Figure 3. It can be seen that this is achieved by the interlocking of two lateral end ribs 9a and 9b forming the branches of a U over the partitions 13 and 14 of the depression 15. The particular ribs 9a and 9b, as well as the partitions 13 and 14, are all substantially perpendicular to the wall 2. After fitting two elements side by side , the depression 15 is perfectly masked by the wall 2. In order to properly position one element relative to the other, protuberances of material 18, placed between the rib 9c and the partition 13 at regular intervals, engage in the notches 19 made on the rib 9a, in a form of cutting complementary to the growths. We will now describe the way in which the elements are fixed to the supporting structure L. This fixing is represented in FIG. 4 where an element 1 is clamped against a lintel L of the supporting structure by the bracket-shaped fitting 24 secured to the lintel by fixing 25.

The bracket tab 24 holds the element 1 against the lintel by pressing on the partition 11 of the end profile. It can be seen that the thickness of this tab and the height of the partition 11 must be such that their superimposition, during clamping, allows the adjacent element to be engaged in the groove 17 and its fitting onto the partition 11. This fixing becomes invisible after the assembly of the elements forming the roofing panel. It allows slight displacements, parallel or transverse to the ribs. The presence of the ribs 7 under the U-shaped depression 12 ensures the continuity of the longitudinal free spaces and the free circulation of the ascending air under the wall of the element.

If the supporting structure is in the form of a continuous flat surface, the bracket 24 is slightly modified while retaining the method of attachment. The new fitting then has the form of a double S-bracket, one leg of which flanges the partition 11 as before and the other, substantially parallel to the first, is supported and fixed on the flat structure.

La pièce de fixation est rendue solidaire de l'élément par la pose d'un rivet 31 reliant la paroi 2 à la pièce 28.The two standard elements 1 of the invention which are at the roof ridge leave a space between them. There is therefore provided a ridge element which may be constituted, as shown in Figure 5, by an angle 26 which covers the two end elements. To fix the angle 26, an intermediate fixing piece 28 is used which is in the form of a profile. The groove 29 of this fixing piece fits on the wall 2 of the element. The fixing part is made integral with the element by the installation of a rivet 31 connecting the wall 2 to the part 28.

A profile 30, integral with the fixing piece 28 by an edge, provides a deep groove on the surface of the piece. We equip the two end elements of the roof of this fastener 28. We then introduce the two tabs 27 that comprise the inner surface of the wings of the angle iron 26 in the grooves provided on the fasteners 28. This secures the roof element on the roof cover. Note that the fixing of the angle 26 on the ridge can be done by simple sliding in the direction of the end edge of the roof.

At the ridge 26, ventilation is ensured by lateral exhaust of the air at the ends of the roof, which thus eliminates ventilation systems of all kinds.
