Description

The invention relates to a hospital bathtub containing a tub body and an electrohydraulically operated lifting device with a hydraulic cylinder, piston rod and motor-pump unit for lifting and lowering a seat or lying arrangement, which is between a position outside the tub body and a position within the tub body is movable. Such hospital bathtubs are generally applicable in nursing and elderly care. In particular, however, they are intended for use by patients and disabled people who, due to their physical condition, cannot get into commercially available bathtubs that are often tailored to the ergonomic needs of nursing staff without outside help.

It is known that bathing in geriatric care and with cross-sectional injuries has grown into a major problem after long-term medical care with medication of all kinds has been greatly reduced and movement activities with mechanical aids have been brought to a relatively high level. The transfer of patients into bathtubs is the main problem from this point of view, because on the one hand the bathtub should be at an ergonomically correct working height of about 80 cm above the floor for the operating and nursing staff, and on the other hand it is often not even for «activated elderly people possible to get into a bathtub standing 60 cm above the floor.

So offenbart z. The aids available today for transferring handicapped persons of the type mentioned into and out of bathtubs have mainly been adopted from conventional lifting techniques and assembled into a piecework system that lacks a uniform concept. Thus, e.g. B. US Pat. No. 3,071,779 a bathtub with a bathtub lift, in which a person carrying device, in a housing serving as a mounting frame, is guided vertically displaceably and horizontally pivotably in the middle of a narrow bathtub side and can be raised and lowered by a drive machine. While the housing is preferably supported on the narrow side of the bathtub and fastened to the adjacent wall, it can also be built into the wall recessed. To reinforce and attach the housing to the wall, its sides are connected to each other by crossbars. To guide the person-carrying device, a vertical square guide tube open at the bottom is fastened and a square support rod is slidably mounted in it, which has a first horizontal support arm in the longitudinal direction of the tub and a second horizontal support arm transversely to it at its lower end. The first support arm carries a pivot pin on which the person support device is pivotally mounted horizontally, while the second support arm is connected to the piston rod of a hydraulically operated working cylinder serving as drive means, and thus ensures the vertical drive of the square support rod or the person support device. The working cylinder is supported on the square guide tube and the housing, with the cylinder at the top and the piston rod being extendable downwards. A motor-pump unit is provided for operating the working cylinder. In operation, the bath lift described serves a z. B. trained as a seat and lying arrangement of people carrying device between a position on the tub floor and a position vertically above it, and manually swing it over the tub body, within its width. The bathtub lift can be operated by an easily accessible actuation device, and it enables patients to be transferred into and out of bathtubs, whether by a caregiver or self-service. The first disadvantages of this solution result from the fact that bathtub and bathtub lift do not form a unit and the bath lift e.g. B. is not integrated in the frame of the tub. Since in this case the drive machine is mounted on a wall, such a bath lift is not suitable for bathtubs which must be freely accessible all around for therapeutic or ergonomic reasons. Also, a bathtub equipped with it cannot be easily and quickly installed in another location if this should prove necessary due to structural or operational changes. Another disadvantage is that the person-carrying device cannot be pivoted laterally beyond the body of the bathtub and, in particular, cannot be lowered outside the bathtub. This can make the transfer of patients from and to the personal support device considerably more difficult.

Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen.Furthermore, a bathtub lift is described in US Pat. No. 3,078,473, in which a hydraulic system operated with water from the public network is used. Obviously, such a drive depends on the local water supply and in particular on its water pressure. Also, installation and any necessary changes in such a bathtub are not freely possible because the water connection for the hydraulics must be taken into account. Furthermore, this bathtub also has the difficulty that the person-carrying device cannot be lowered outside the body of the tub. Finally, a device is known from French Patent No. 399969, with which patients on a couch in and can be transferred from bathtubs, the bathtub being mounted on a mobile frame. This device is out of date and in no way solves the problems of patient transportation in today's old age and nursing care. In particular, it does not meet the requirements that are placed on a patient transfer device in today's bathing operation. The invention seeks to remedy this.

In addition, a hospital bathtub with an electrohydraulically operated lifting device, the person-carrying device of which can be lowered outside the body of the bath, is shown in US Pat. No. 3,371,357. However, this patent does not contain any suggestion as to how the hospital bathtub could be designed to be portable.

The aim of the invention is to create a hospital bathtub in which the tub and the associated lifting equipment are designed as a unit and the tub itself is designed in a conventional, commercially available form. The drive means of the hoist should not give rise to soiling and the hoist itself should be designed as an aggregate integrated in the tub unit. Furthermore, the tub should provide sufficient ground clearance on its underside and be essentially freely accessible all around.

The object given by this object of the invention is achieved by a hospital bathtub, the characteristic features of which emerge from patent claim 1. Embodiments thereof can be read from the dependent claims.

An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is described below with reference to the drawing. In this shows
  • 1 shows a bathtub designed according to the invention in a perspective representation, partially in section, with the seat arrangement fully extended, and
  • Figure 2 is an end view of the lifting unit, the seat arrangement being shown in the receiving and bathing positions.

A basically conventional tub body 1 for free-standing installation or installation arrangement lies with a peripheral edge flange 2 on the bars 3 of a frame frame, generally designated 4. The frame 4 is preferably a tubular structure which delimits an essentially continuously connected cavity 5. In one of the frame corners, preferably adjacent to an electrohydraulic unit 6 comprising an electric motor 6 'and a pump 6 ", a hydraulic cylinder 7 is mounted, on the push-out piston rod 8 of which a supporting structure 9 for receiving a chair shell 10 is attached. Under the terms used here chair shell and Seat arrangements are of course also to be understood as supporting means by which a patient can be taken up in a lying position.

Fig. 2 shows the seat arrangement of the support structure 9 and the chair shell 10, which 'the latter is expediently made of a dimensionally stable water-repellent plastic, with a drawn line in the receiving position for the user, the seat plate 10' expediently at the wheelchair seat height, d. H. is lowered about 45-50 cm above the floor. By ejecting the piston rod 8 from the hydraulic cylinder 7 to a height such as shown in FIG. 1, where the seat plate 10 'and the user sitting thereon are located sufficiently above the rim flange 2 of the seat, the seat arrangement 9, 10 is approximately at the longitudinal center plane 11 of the tub 1 lying position pivotable. After lowering the seat arrangement by relieving the piston 8, the user, as shown with a broken line, reaches a position within the tub body 1 in which the intended treatment can take place either directly or after being placed on the tub floor at a suitable height for the operating personnel .

For the actuation of the lifting device consisting of the hydraulic cylinder 7 and the piston rod 8, purified water, appropriately provided with a corrosion-inhibiting additive, or another aqueous liquid is used, which can be removed in the event of any leakage of the hydraulic parts, such as water. The hydraulic fluid is located in the cavity 5 delimited by the tubular frame 4 and is fed to the pump 6 ″ via a feed line 12. A pressure line 13 feeds the hydraulic cylinder 7. The component 14 connecting the upper part of the hydraulic cylinder to the tubular frame 4 can optionally be used be designed as an overflow or return line which is located at the level of the lower end of the piston rod when the piston rod 8 is fully extended, so as to automatically limit the upward stroke of the seat arrangement 9, 10. The hydraulic fluid conveyed by the pump unit 6 then flows under the piston surface via the Overflow or return line 14 back into the Hohlraum.5 of the frame.

As the pump 6 ", a vane pump is expediently used which, when the drive motor is at a standstill, allows a practically uninhibited backflow of the hydraulic fluid. It is thus possible to lower the seat arrangement both into the bathtub and outside of it by simply reducing the speed or switching off the drive motor. An orifice device 15 can be installed in the pressure line 13, which allows both fixed and adjustable control of both the lifting and lowering speed, and the drive motor can also be adjustable in speed in order to control the desired speed of movement of the seat arrangement.

It goes without saying that the pump 6 ″ can also be designed as a non-return element, and the return of the lifting device 7, 8 via a separate controllable return line (not shown) with a return valve can take place.
