Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a mast foot for the mast of a sail board with a mast foot pin for detachable reception in a socket of the sail board, with a mast foot upper part for attaching the mast, with an articulated joint arranged between the mast foot pin and the mast foot upper part, and with a device for attaching a mast foot securing device connecting the mast foot to the sail board.
In order to prevent injuries to the surfer, the mast feet of known sailing boards are detachably connected to the sailing board, so that when the mast tips over due to unskillful operation or under extreme conditions, the limbs of the surfer become jammed or even the mast or the joint in the mast foot breaks avoid. This release of the rig from the sail board, which, as I said, usually takes place under extreme weather conditions, creates the danger that the rig and the sail board drift apart, so that the surfer who has fallen off the board may no longer be able to reach the board that quickly drifts off without a rig.
To avoid this disadvantage, mast feet are provided with mast foot safety devices, by means of which the mast foot is secured to the board even after it has been detached from the board firmly connected rope stays connected.
Riggs vom Segelbrett erfolgt. With mast foot safeguards that have become known, the rope is firmly connected to the upper part of the mast foot protruding beyond the sail board. The rotation and pivoting of the mast is not hindered by this mast lock. However, it is the decisive disadvantage that such M astsicherung then is ineffective if does not dissolve under extreme conditions of the rig of Mastfußzapfen from the socket of the sailboard, but the mast foot joint is destroyed, and thereby a release of the mast and Riggs from Sailboard is done.
The invention has for its object to provide a mast foot securing, which is effective not only in the intended release of the mast foot from the surfboard, but also when the mast foot, especially its joint, breaks.
To achieve this object, it is proposed according to the invention in a mast foot of the type mentioned at the outset that the device for securing the mast foot is rotatably arranged on the mast base upper part about an axis coinciding with the longitudinal axis of the mast. An essential idea of the invention is thus to arrange the mast foot securing device on the mast foot upper part, i.e. above the joint, on the mast foot, the free rotatability and pivotability of the mast not being impeded by the fact that the mast foot securing device can be freely rotated about the mast foot upper part. Even if the joint breaks, the rig remains connected to the sail board. Of course, the previously known mast securing device, which is connected to the mast foot pin, can additionally be present in the usual way.
In an expedient embodiment of the invention, the device for securing the mast foot consists of a ring which can be rotated about the upper part of the mast foot and which has an eyelet for fastening a tamp connected to the sailing board. The ring can expediently be embedded in a circumferential groove of the upper part of the mast foot.
In a further development of this embodiment, the ring can also be designed as a clip open on one side, the ends of which carry eyelets for receiving the tamp.
In another embodiment of the invention, the device for securing the mast foot expediently consists of a sleeve rotatably arranged about the mast foot upper part such that a rope connected to the sail board can be occupied on it, the sleeve at least on its lower edge Has slipping of the tamp from the sleeve preventing circumferential projection.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. The drawing shows in its single figure, partly in section, the mast foot of a sailing board.
The mast base, designated overall by 1 according to the attached figure, is inserted with its
The
The mast foot
