Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a versatile electrical connection part and in particular an electrical connection part with insulation displacement connection and with complementary socket.
  • Self-stripping electrical connection parts for electrical wires are commonly included in many connection members and in particular in many terminal blocks; they have the advantage of allowing a quick, simple and safe connection compared to older means, such as the connection means by screw and nut system.
  • connection piece is intended to provide an electrical connection either between two wires, or between a wire and an electrical member; when it is self-stripping it therefore comprises at least one self-stripping part and at least one other part adapted to the specific need to be fulfilled, for example a tongue, a lyre or possibly another self-stripping part.
  • connection parts in many connection cases, the user wishes to have access to the electrical connections made using such connection parts in order for example to make branches, distributions, or to be able to temporarily cut the connection or to be able to perform continuity tests.
  • connection parts generally more accessible than the apparatuses and usually assembled in one or more locations to facilitate modifications, decommissioning. services, etc ;
  • connection parts mentioned above we therefore provide specialized additional sockets on the connection parts mentioned above in order to meet the specific needs to be fulfilled.
  • connection parts corresponding to all the possible combinations of an insulation displacement part as mentioned above with the different variants of complementary sockets adapted to the specific needs of fill.
  • document US-A-4241970 proposes a versatile electrical connection part comprising at least one insulation displacement part in the form of a metallic element, good conductor, endowed with elasticity, which is provided on the one hand with a wire wedge opening into an insulation stripping flare whose edges are sharpened so as to start the insulation of the wire to be connected before introduction of the core of the wire into the slot, on the other hand at minus a complementary socket formed from an extension of the metal element constituting the insulation displacement part.
  • the present invention therefore provides a versatile electrical connection part of this type, which makes it possible to produce different assemblies and in particular connections in different directions using the same model of part.
  • the complementary socket of the connection piece is constituted by a pair of contact lyres whose bases are parallel and face to face on said extension which carries them to allow connection via these arms, according to one or the other. other of three perpendicular directions.
  • the two lyres of the same pair are inclined towards one another at their respective arms.
  • connection piece 1 presented in FIG. 1 is made up of two parts that are symmetrical with respect to the median plane, and two simple connection pieces are obtained by cutting a double piece along this median plane. This therefore makes it possible to produce with the same means either a double part or two symmetrical parts and here identical.
  • the double connection piece is necessarily made of a good conductive metal, endowed with elasticity, this metal is cut and bent to obtain the desired shape.
  • the part 1 comprises at least one element 2, such as 2A or 2B, provided with a slot 20, such as 20A or 20B, for wedging the core A3 of a wire 3 to be connected.
  • a slot 20 opens into a flare 21, such as 21 A or 21 B, used to strip the insulation of the wires to be connected, such as 13 for wire 3.
  • edges of the flares are partially sharpened so as to start the insulation of the wires without damaging the core during the connection operation during which each wire is pushed into a slot via the flaring which precedes it.
  • Room 1 also has an extension 4 from element 2.
  • Extension 4 carries at least one pair of lyres 5L, 5L ', it preferably has two pairs 5LA, 5L'A and 5LB, 5L'B.
  • Each lyre has a base, such as 5LA1 or 5LB1 and two arms, such as 5L'A2 and 5L'A3 for the lyre 5L'A or 5LB2 and 5LB3 for the lyre 5LB, the two arms of a lyre each face each other a bulge, such as bulges 6LB2 and 6LB3, for the arms 5LB2 and 5LB3, so as to bear on any element of appropriate thickness which would be inserted between them.
  • the two lyres of each pair have their bases parallel and face to face such as bases 5LA1 and 5L'A1 ( Figure 1), and they are identically inclined by their arms towards each other, so that that these arms come identically to bear on any cylindrical element of appropriate diameter which would be inserted between them.
  • the four arms, of a pair of lyres such as 5LA, 5L'A practically define a square whose diagonals roughly correspond to the diameter of the cylindrical element insertable between them.
  • connection piece 1 is produced by cutting and folding from a flat metal strip; the cutouts determine the parts intended to constitute the insulation displacement elements 2, the extension 4 and the lyres.
  • a succession of folds made at the two ends of each cut plane makes it possible to constitute two rectangular parallelepideds 2A, 2B each open on two parallel faces and connected together by the extension 4 so that the lyres also positioned by folding are arranged in succession between the rectangular parallelepipeds 2A, 2B on the other side of these with respect to the plane of the extension 4 and the two open faces into which the flares 21 A and 21 B open.
  • the slots 20 and the flares 21 are formed in the short sides of the rectangular parallelepipeds which are outside of the part 1 while the extension 4 originates at the top of the short sides of the rectangular parallelepideds which are inside the part 1.
  • the part 1 can be used as, or separated into two symmetrical or asymmetrical halves by cutting the extension 4 between or before the pairs of lyres.
  • connection piece makes it possible to make connections in three different directions at the lyres in addition to the connections by self-stripping.
  • Figure 2 shows how it is possible to connect a plurality of connection pieces 1, 1 ', 1 ", 1" according to the invention by means of conductive bars 7, such as 7 and 7' inserted between the arms of the lyres such as 5LA , 5LA and 5LB, 5L'B, perpendicular to these lyres, each bar having a width slightly greater than the minimum distance between arms of the same lyre at the level of the bulges (figure 1) so as to be wedged preferably by taking support at the bottom of the lyre.
  • conductive bars 7, such as 7 and 7' inserted between the arms of the lyres such as 5LA , 5LA and 5LB, 5L'B, perpendicular to these lyres, each bar having a width slightly greater than the minimum distance between arms of the same lyre at the level of the bulges (figure 1) so as to be wedged preferably by taking support at the bottom of the lyre.
  • FIG. 3 shows how it is possible to connect a male cylindrical plug 8 connected to a wire 80 with a connection piece 1, for example for testing purposes, by choosing a plug with a diameter slightly greater than the distance between two diagonal arm of a pair of lyres.
  • the conductive part 8 is plugged between the inclined arms of a pair of lyres such as the arms 5LB2, 5LB3, 5L'B2, 5L'B3, so that this part is held in place by the elastic return force. in the initial position of these arms also separated two by two.
  • Figure 4 shows how it is possible to implement two simple connection pieces 2A and 2B obtained by sectioning a connection piece 1 according to its median plane of symmetry between the two groups of lyres 5LA, 5L'A of a part and 5LB, 5L'B on the other hand, to make an interruptible junction on demand.
  • a removable connecting strip 9 is used, provided with two interconnected contact blades 9A, 9B, which each have a thickness slightly greater than the minimum distance between arms of the same lyre at the level of the bulges and an equal or slightly length. greater than the distance between the two lyres facing each other from the same single connection piece.
  • FIG. 5 shows another connection variant using two simple connection pieces 2A and 2B with their lyres and a knife comprising an insulating body 10 carrying a contact blade 11 and mounted on an axis 12 integral with the housing, not shown, fixedly containing the connection pieces 2A and 2B and their respective lyres 5LA, 5L'A, 5LB and 5L'B.
  • the knife is arranged parallel to the bases of the lyres so that its contact blade 11 is inserted by rotation on the one hand between the lyres 5LA and 5L'A and the part 2A and on the other 5LB and 51'B of the part 2B assumed to be aligned in their casing.
  • the contacts are then made parallel to the bases of the lyres, the two arms of each lyre moving apart and identically outwardly from their initial position, under the action of the blade 11.
