Definitions
- the invention relates to a circular ride with a base disc which can be rotated and driven about a central axis which is approximately vertical in the rest position and on which a plurality of seat supports are each fastened to a hub and are rotatably mounted about an axis at a distance from the central axis, the axes of the seat supports being opposite the central axis are inclined.
- the axis of the seat carrier essentially passes through the center of gravity of the seat carrier with the passenger sitting on it, so that centrifugal forces (as a result of rotation about the central axis) as well as influences of acceleration and deceleration forces are absorbed the carrier is small at best.
- a manual drive to be actuated by the passenger is provided, which due to the extensive balancing is even geared.
- the main plane of the support extends perpendicular to the seat support axis, so that it is inclined in all rotational positions of the seat support by the angle of inclination ⁇ of the seat support axis with respect to the base plate.
- the invention is based on the object of increasing the attractiveness of such a - relatively simple - amusement ride without additional manufacturing outlay by additional movement sequences.
- the seat supports are attached to their hubs at an angle ⁇ such that the main plane of the seat support extends perpendicular to the central axis only in a rest position.
- the seat support In the rest position of the seat support, it is located at the lowest point of its circular path about its axis and is not only raised at every other point of this circular path, but also tilted with respect to the axis of rotation of the central disk and thus its main plane.
- the seat support (freely rotatable about its axis) tends to return to the rest position when it has been deflected out of it.
- a circular ride is known from US-A-3 603 583, in which a plurality of passenger seat carriers are each arranged at the free end of a cantilever arm.
- the cantilever arms can be rotated about a central, vertical axis and pivoted about horizontal axes tangential to it in vertical planes.
- Each seat bracket is attached to a hub which is rotatable about a vertical axis which is attached to a bent end portion of the cantilever arm and perpendicular to this.
- the vertical axis of the seat support In the rest position of the cantilever arm (entry position), the vertical axis of the seat support is inclined with respect to the central axis of rotation of the ride, when the cantilever arm is pivoted up during operation, this inclination initially approaches zero and then increases again in the other direction.
- This well-known tour business is not only of a different, much more complicated type, but also cannot achieve the desired effect because the seat supports are not attached to their hubs at an angle.
- AU-B-462 297 also applies to the amusement ride known from AU-B-462 297, in which several passenger seat carriers are arranged on the circumference of a floor disc which can be tilted with its central axis of rotation.
- the essentially oval seat supports are rotatably supported by means of uninclined hubs and axles, which are fastened vertically on the base plate.
- each seat support is preferably inclined either radially outwards or radially inwards. Compared to a sideways inclination, this has the advantage of a sensible alignment of the seat carriers and thus the passenger seats in their rest position, which is also the entry position when changing passengers.
- a further development of the invention provides that a plurality of seat supports with their hubs are arranged in groups on floor disks serving as intermediate disks, each of which can be rotated and driven around an intermediate axis perpendicular to a main floor disk and has a radial distance from the central axis of the main floor disk .
- Such satellite constructions are known per se.
- the arrangement according to the invention and the new effect of the carrier vertical axes with their carriers are the same as described above with reference to the central axis, however, the rotation of the intermediate disk about the central axis is also superimposed on it, so that an additional, for centrifugal force swells up and down for the individual passenger.
- the central axis of the base plate can be inclined at an angle to the perpendicular, as is known, for example, from AU-B-462 297.
- the angle will be chosen to be smaller than the angle of inclination of the seat support axes in order to prevent the effect of that inclination from being canceled out by that of the central axis; otherwise, in this case, two 'ascents and descents' overlap while maintaining the superimposed rotary movements.
- a central central structure 1 rotatably supports a base plate 2 which, according to FIG. 3, is circular, but can also have an outer contour which deviates therefrom.
- the drive arranged in the middle section 1 is not shown; it rotates the base plate 2 about the vertical central axis 3.
- Seat supports 4 are arranged at a radial distance from the central axis 3 and evenly distributed on the circumference, which in the present example are combined with the passenger seat 5 to form a component.
- the seat support 4 is fastened to a hub 6, which is freely rotatable about an axis 7 indicated by dash-dotted lines.
- a handwheel 8 is fastened which - since the axis 7 is firmly seated on the base plate 2 - remains stationary when the hub 6 rotates about the axis 7 with the seat support 4. Such a movement can therefore be caused by a passenger who is supported with his hands on the handwheel 8.
- the axis 7 is not fixed vertically on the base plate 2, but rather is arranged on it inclined relative to it, namely radially outwards according to FIG. 1 and radially inwards according to FIG.
- the axis 7 of the seat support 4 forms an angle a with the vertical.
- ⁇ 90 ° -a
- the seat support 4 is fastened to the hub 6 with its horizontal main plane 4a.
- the seat support 4 is arranged with the aid of the hub 6 so as to be freely rotatable about the axis 7 on an intermediate plate 9, which in turn is mounted on the base plate 2 about an axis 10.
- a drive 11, only indicated, rotates the intermediate disk 9 about the axis 10 and in this way moves the seat support 4 with the seat 5 thereon at different radial distances from the central axis 3, resulting in movements of the seat support 4 with the hub 6 which depend on this Axis 7 leads.
- Fig. 1 is indicated by dash-dotted lines that the base plate 2 can be tilted with the central axis 3 (or tilted while lifting), so that the base plate 2 with all the superstructures assumes an oblique position with respect to its original horizontal main plane.
- the angle by which the central axis 3 is pivoted against the vertical is denoted by (p in FIG. 1.
- the arrangement will in particular be such that the angle (p is smaller than the angle of inclination a of the seat support axes 7.

Description
The invention relates to a circular ride with a base disc which can be rotated and driven about a central axis which is approximately vertical in the rest position and on which a plurality of seat supports are each fastened to a hub and are rotatably mounted about an axis at a distance from the central axis, the axes of the seat supports being opposite the central axis are inclined.
In this circular ride known from US-A-2 319 327, the axis of the seat carrier essentially passes through the center of gravity of the seat carrier with the passenger sitting on it, so that centrifugal forces (as a result of rotation about the central axis) as well as influences of acceleration and deceleration forces are absorbed the carrier is small at best. For the rotation of the seat carrier (with passenger seat and passenger), therefore, a manual drive to be actuated by the passenger is provided, which due to the extensive balancing is even geared. Furthermore, the main plane of the support extends perpendicular to the seat support axis, so that it is inclined in all rotational positions of the seat support by the angle of inclination α of the seat support axis with respect to the base plate.
Starting from this prior art, the invention is based on the object of increasing the attractiveness of such a - relatively simple - amusement ride without additional manufacturing outlay by additional movement sequences.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the seat supports are attached to their hubs at an angle β such that the main plane of the seat support extends perpendicular to the central axis only in a rest position. In the rest position of the seat support, it is located at the lowest point of its circular path about its axis and is not only raised at every other point of this circular path, but also tilted with respect to the axis of rotation of the central disk and thus its main plane. However, due to gravity, the seat support (freely rotatable about its axis) tends to return to the rest position when it has been deflected out of it. In the operation of the tour business, this already happens due to acceleration and deceleration forces, which in this way allow the passenger to carry out an apparent 'ascent and descent'. The passenger can also arbitrarily bring about such a vertical movement superimposed on the two rotary movements (about the central axis of the base plate on the one hand and the seat support axis on the other); It is therefore advantageous to have a handwheel at the upper end of the axis of the seat support — rigidly fixed relative to the base plate, which is known per se.
A circular ride is known from US-A-3 603 583, in which a plurality of passenger seat carriers are each arranged at the free end of a cantilever arm. The cantilever arms can be rotated about a central, vertical axis and pivoted about horizontal axes tangential to it in vertical planes. Each seat bracket is attached to a hub which is rotatable about a vertical axis which is attached to a bent end portion of the cantilever arm and perpendicular to this. In the rest position of the cantilever arm (entry position), the vertical axis of the seat support is inclined with respect to the central axis of rotation of the ride, when the cantilever arm is pivoted up during operation, this inclination initially approaches zero and then increases again in the other direction. This well-known tour business is not only of a different, much more complicated type, but also cannot achieve the desired effect because the seat supports are not attached to their hubs at an angle.
The latter also applies to the amusement ride known from AU-B-462 297, in which several passenger seat carriers are arranged on the circumference of a floor disc which can be tilted with its central axis of rotation. The essentially oval seat supports are rotatably supported by means of uninclined hubs and axles, which are fastened vertically on the base plate.
The axis of each seat support is preferably inclined either radially outwards or radially inwards. Compared to a sideways inclination, this has the advantage of a sensible alignment of the seat carriers and thus the passenger seats in their rest position, which is also the entry position when changing passengers. A further development of the invention provides that a plurality of seat supports with their hubs are arranged in groups on floor disks serving as intermediate disks, each of which can be rotated and driven around an intermediate axis perpendicular to a main floor disk and has a radial distance from the central axis of the main floor disk . Such satellite constructions are known per se. With regard to the intermediate axis, the arrangement according to the invention and the new effect of the carrier vertical axes with their carriers are the same as described above with reference to the central axis, however, the rotation of the intermediate disk about the central axis is also superimposed on it, so that an additional, for centrifugal force swells up and down for the individual passenger.
It is also possible to use further features of round-trip rides, which are known per se, also in the present round-trip trade. For example, the central axis of the base plate can be inclined at an angle to the perpendicular, as is known, for example, from AU-B-462 297. The angle will be chosen to be smaller than the angle of inclination of the seat support axes in order to prevent the effect of that inclination from being canceled out by that of the central axis; otherwise, in this case, two 'ascents and descents' overlap while maintaining the superimposed rotary movements.
Darin zeigt:
- Fig. 1 in schematischem Querschnitt eine Hälfte der Bodenscheibe mit jedoch nur einem Sitzträger;
- Fig. 2 eine der
- Fig. 4 eine der
Figur 1 entsprechende Darstellung der Anordnung mit Zwischenscheibe.
- Fig. 1 in a schematic cross section Half of the floor pane with only one seat support;
- FIG. 2 shows a representation similar to FIG. 1, but with a different seat support arrangement;
- 3 shows a plan view, likewise schematic, of a quarter-circle section of the circular shop; and
- Fig. 4 is a representation corresponding to Figure 1 of the arrangement with washer.
In the manner customary in carousels, a central
In a departure from known arrangements, the
Since the
The same applies if the
In Fig. 1 is indicated by dash-dotted lines that the
An additional driving sensation arises when the
