Definitions

  • the invention relates to a concrete protective housing for receiving and storing a fuel element container loaded with spent nuclear reactor fuel elements, suitable for transport and storage, the clear dimensions of the concrete protective housing having a pallet-like foot part being somewhat larger than the outer dimensions of the fuel element container and wherein at least one supply air opening and At least one exhaust air opening is arranged in the upper area of the concrete protective housing.
  • the concrete protective housing has side supply air ducts on the lower edge of the casing and lateral exhaust air ducts in the area of the upper casing edge below the lid.
  • the base of the concrete protective housing is designed as a separately accessible pallet on which the fuel element container and above it the concrete protective jacket of the concrete protective housing can be placed. Due to the arrangement of the supply air and exhaust air ducts in the concrete protective housing, natural draft air ventilation is achieved within the concrete protective housing, which serves to dissipate the decay heat.
  • the bottom plate of the pallet-like base of the concrete protective housing is penetrated by axial bores, which serve as additional supply air openings. If moisture forms in the interior of the concrete protective housing, it can be drained downwards through these holes.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a concrete protective housing of the type described in such a way that an uncontrolled drainage of moisture that has penetrated into the interior of the concrete protective housing into the ground or onto the hall floor is avoided.
  • a collecting trough is arranged under a base plate of the base part and that the base plate is penetrated by at least one axial bore in the foot part.
  • a drip pan for the running moisture is arranged below the base plate of the pallet-like foot part.
