Description
The invention relates to a device for automatically opening the locking wedge on a semi-automatic weapon system, in particular a tank cannon with a training insert barrel.
In the case of training and training shooting of battle tanks, the tank cannon is often equipped with a barrel which enables small-caliber and therefore inexpensive ammunition to be fired. However, this ammunition (up to 35 mm caliber) does not cause sufficient return on the weapon, so that the automatic opening of the breech for the next loading process is no longer necessary.
The result of this is that after each shot the loading wedge has to be opened manually by the loader by turning the opener shaft by means of a hand lever. This action proves to be very difficult to carry out and relatively time-consuming, especially when shooting in the field. It is therefore not on approximately comparable with the temporal and functional sequence of the loading and shooting process, as occurs, for example, when using normal-caliber ammunition for this weapon (e.g. 120 mm) and the corresponding automatic opening of the breech as a result of the weapon return, in which a firing sequence of a maximum of 8 shots per minute is required.
In order to roughly meet this requirement, it is necessary, even when using an insert barrel and the correspondingly small-caliber ammunition, to achieve an automatic opening of the locking wedge regardless of the loader and in a certain time sequence.
A simulation of the return of the weapon to trigger the normal automatic opening process for the locking wedge is not possible without considerable technical effort due to the high energy required for this.
The object underlying the invention was therefore to provide a device for automatically opening the locking wedge of the type mentioned, which enables the weapon to be loaded under realistic conditions with little technical effort during training shooting with a barrel. The device should be designed in such a way that it can be arranged on the weapon system without any deeper intervention in it, and its energy consumption should be kept low, in particular with regard to use in battle tanks in which only limited amounts of energy are available via the electrical system will.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the locking wedge can be connected to an electromechanical drive device, which one Has an electric motor, the output shaft is fixedly connected to an energy-storing flywheel, which is connected to the drive shaft of a mechanical opening device via at least one controllable clutch.
By using an energy-storing flywheel between the electric motor, the drive device and the mechanical opening device, sufficient power can be made available for opening the locking wedge without, for example, overloading the on-board electrical system of a main battle tank. The device according to the invention makes it possible to store the energy required to open the locking wedge within a certain time (for example B sec.) In order to then deliver it to the mechanical opening device in a shorter time (for example 0.3 sec.).
The device according to the invention consists of relatively few individual parts that can be easily mounted on the weapon system.
Advantageous embodiments of the device according to the invention are described in the subclaims.
Nach Erreichen einer vorgegebenen Nenndrehzahl des Schwungrades, wird der Elektromotor wieder abgeschaltetFor example, the mechanical opening device can be designed as a simple opening lever. A reduction gear is expediently arranged between the flywheel and the drive shaft of the opening device. The controllable clutch can be designed as an electromagnetic clutch that is controlled by an electronic control device. This control device can work so that the electric motor is first switched on when the clutch is open. After reaching a predetermined rated speed of the flywheel, the electric motor is switched off again
Es besitzt dann vielmehr noch eine gewisse Restrotationsenergie, die die nachfolgende Beschleunigung auf Nenndrehzahl durch den Elektromotor erleichtert.and when or after the electric motor is switched off, a control signal is emitted which engages the clutch for a predetermined period of time, so that during this period the flywheel is coupled to the drive shaft of the opening device. It is useful if the coupling is released shortly before reaching the end position of the locking wedge, thereby avoiding that the flywheel comes to a complete standstill. Rather, it still has a certain amount of residual rotation energy, which facilitates the subsequent acceleration to the nominal speed by the electric motor.
For safety reasons, it is expedient to control the control device with its own control signal, which only triggers the opening process on the locking wedge when a shot has actually been fired.
For this purpose, this control signal can be derived either from the firing pulse of the electrical firing system of the weapon or from the actual firing process. However, these two processes can also be used to trigger the opening process. The signal derived from the actual firing process can be generated by a limit switch which is actuated by the return of the weapon. However, it can also be generated by a piezoelectric accelerometer arranged on the weapon, which reacts, for example, to the structure-borne noise generated during firing.
The assembly of the device according to the invention can be carried out by the operating personnel of the weapon system without great technical effort, without a technical intervention in the weapon system being necessary.
An exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

In the device shown in FIG. 1, an electromechanical drive device is arranged on the
The control of the electric motor 1 and the two
Finally, from a
If all of these three signals are present at the
- First, the electric motor 1, for example connected to the on-board network of the main battle tank, is switched on and brings the flywheel 2 to the required nominal speed. The
electromagnetic clutches 3 and 6 are not in engagement. The lockingwedge 10 is opened for the first time by the loader by hand lever via theopening shaft 8. The weapon is loaded and the lockingwedge 10 closes automatically via the closing mechanism, not specifically shown, integrated in the weapon. Now the gun is fired. As soon as the signals originating from the firing pulse and from the firing process are present together with the signal about the nominal speed reached at the ANDgate 12, the control device gives the control signal to the twoelectromagnetic clutches 3 and 6, which operate simultaneously over a predetermined period or a predeterminedpath Locking wedge 10 are brought into engagement, whereby flywheel 2 andopening shaft 8 are connected to one another. The high speed of the electric motor 1 is converted via the reduction gears 4, 5 and 7 into a slowly rotating movement of approximately 100 ° rotation angle. Shortly before reaching the end position of theopening shaft 8 or the lockingwedge 10, the twoelectromagnetic clutches 3 and 6 are separated again and at the same time the electric motor 1 is switched on again by thepulse generator 18. This brings flywheel 2, which has not come to a complete standstill, back to nominal speed. The weapon is now loaded again, the locking wedge closes automatically and the weapon is fired again.
