Abstract
A fuel injection pump is proposed, the quantity adjustment element of which has a travel limitation in the form of an adjustable stop (5) which is adjusted according to the displacement of an adjustment piston (11) according to a contour (44) stamped on the adjustment piston. The actuating piston (11) is displaced as a function of the pressure of the air supplied to the combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine, which is controlled with the aid of a pressure cell (39). The pressure cell actuates a control piston, with the aid of which a control pressure actuating the adjusting piston (11) is set, which at the same time acts as a restoring force on the pressure cell (39) via the control piston. In the balanced state, the control pressure circuit is separated from the pressure supply source (22).
Description
The invention relates to a fuel injection pump according to the preamble of the main claim. In such an injection pump known from US Pat. No. 4,037,575, the pressure pressure chamber enclosed by the control pressure piston is constantly connected to the pressure source via a throttle and controls the cross-section of the connection to a relief channel with its front edge: this device has the disadvantage that at every pressure to be set in the Pressure chamber constantly flows a more or less large amount of hydraulic fluid to the discharge side. This requires a strong fuel delivery pump for the fuel injection pump and higher energy consumption.
The fuel injection pump according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that, as long as the control pressure does not change no fuel has to be used for the formation of control pressure. The density changes in the combustion chambers of Bren n - combustion engine the introduced air, so the time required for the increase of the control pressure and the adjustment of the adjusting piston hydraulic fluid to the pressure chamber and the downstream system can very quickly be supplied to. Conversely, in the other case, a reduced control pressure can be set very quickly by opening the relief channel. The opening cross sections do not have to be matched to the dynamics of the throttled pressure fluid supply to the pressure chamber, as is the case with the prior art. A sensitive-reacting and low-friction, low-hysteresis adjustment of the stop for the quantity adjusting member is obtained.
Advantageous further developments and improvements of the solution specified in the main claim are characterized by the measures listed in the subclaims.
Two embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing and are explained in more detail in the following description. 1 shows a schematic representation of a device for adjusting the full load stop of a quantity adjusting element of a fuel injection pump according to the invention and FIG. 2 shows an equivalent configuration of the control piston.
In Figure 1, a part of a fuel injection pump is shown, the z. B. can be a distributor injection pump. This has, in a known manner, a fuel
A stepped bore is now provided in the housing 1 of the fuel injection pump, consisting of a
The
The connection between the
The described fuel injection pump works as follows: When the fuel injection pump starts operating, the fuel delivery pump delivers fuel both in the
However, if the boost pressure now increases, the
Furthermore, fuel flows through the
A configuration equivalent in the adjusting
Instead of the
