Definitions
- the invention relates to an electric hotplate with a mounting ring surrounding it, which is installed in an opening of a mounting plate.
- the object of the invention is to improve the installation of a hotplate in a built-in plate and, in particular, to enable it to be installed in sensitive built-in plates, for example ceramic or glass plates.
- the hot plate is installed by gluing in such a way that it stiffens the hot plate here in a particularly dangerous manner forms the area of the installation opening instead of loading the edge of the installation opening with an additional force.
- this can take over the sealing function immediately or the adhesive can be applied between an interposed seal and the mounting ring and the mounting plate.
- a tear-open device in the manner of an inserted tear wire could be provided, which can be gripped from the inside.
- an insert ring which covers the inner circumference of the installation opening, so that it is protected against radiation from the hotplate as well as against mechanical damage and is additionally stiffened.
- This insert ring can also be glued in. It preferably engages with an outer flange over the surface of the mounting plate, where the adhesive or the sealing material is then interposed.
- An embodiment is particularly advantageous in which the same adhesive or sealing ring seals the insert ring from the worktop and keeps the mounting ring tight from the inside against the ingress of liquid.

- the insert ring can consist of a double sleeve which has a spacing from the inner wall which lies against the outer circumference of the installation opening and which is connected to the latter via some connecting webs or the like. It forms additional heat protection and could also contribute to centering.
- Fig. 1 shows an electric hotplate 11 with a conventional hotplate body made of cast material, on the underside of which electrical heating resistors are embedded in spiral grooves.
- the hotplate body the upper surface of which forms a flat closed cooking surface which is only slightly recessed in the middle, is surrounded by an installation ring 12 which is fixed on the outer circumference of the hotplate body 13 by being pressed on. It has a flat, inverted U-shaped cross section with a slightly sloping outer flank and lies on a mounting plate 14 made of glass, ceramic or possibly also other more or less sensitive materials, which has an installation opening 15 which is substantially larger than the outer circumference of the hotplate body 13 and only slightly smaller than the outer circumference of the downward outer edge 16 of the mounting ring 12.
- the circumference or the wall 17 of the installation opening 15 is covered by a sheet metal ring 18 which is inserted into this opening and can be self-adhesive or glued there. It has an upper flange 19 (FIG. 2) which extends close to the outer edge 16 of the mounting ring 12. Between the flange 19 and the edge 16 there is a ring 20, which can consist, for example, of a pasty and heat-resistant adhesive or of a heat-resistant sealing ring which is connected to the insert ring 18, the mounting ring 12 and the worktop 14 by adhesive, either by self-adhesive or by a specially applied adhesive.
- the ring 20 is guided through the insert ring 18 and thus simultaneously centers the mounting ring 12 and seals the insert ring and mounting ring at the same time.
- Fig. 3 shows a variant in which, in the rest of the same design, the upper part 21 of the insert ring 18 a is slightly recessed inward so that the ring 20a can extend around the top edge 22 of the worktop, thereby providing good sealing and mechanical protection.
- Fig. 4 shows an embodiment without a metallic insert ring, in which an adhesive sealing ring 20b extends around the upper corner 22 of the worktop. In it, a tear wire 23 is inserted, which can be gripped and torn open from the inside, so that the hotplate can be easily detached if disassembled.
- FIG. 5 also shows an embodiment with a tear wire corresponding to FIG. 4, in which, however, the sealing ring 20c extends over the entire inner surface of the installation opening and covers it.
- This version is particularly suitable for a sealing ring material that is highly heat-resistant and also good insulating.
- An inner coating made of a reflective material could be provided here in order to further protect the worktop from the effects of temperature.
- FIG. 6 shows an embodiment in which a sealing ring 20d is placed under the semi-toroidally curved flange 19d of the insert ring 18d.
- the hotplate is connected by an adhesive 20 'directly to the worktop and to the outer surface of the flange 19d.
- a safe, dense and particularly flat hotplate installation is created, which also enables the use of mechanically and thermally sensitive mounting plates.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an electric hotplate with a mounting ring surrounding it, which is installed in an opening of a mounting plate.
The object of the invention is to improve the installation of a hotplate in a built-in plate and, in particular, to enable it to be installed in sensitive built-in plates, for example ceramic or glass plates.
This problem is solved by the appended claims.
While previously the hot plates were always braced with the mounting plate, according to a preferred feature the hot plate is installed by gluing in such a way that it stiffens the hot plate here in a particularly dangerous manner forms the area of the installation opening instead of loading the edge of the installation opening with an additional force. Depending on the type of adhesive used, this can take over the sealing function immediately or the adhesive can be applied between an interposed seal and the mounting ring and the mounting plate. In the event that the hotplate is to be easily removable again, for example a tear-open device in the manner of an inserted tear wire could be provided, which can be gripped from the inside. With the reliability of the hot plates, however, removing and installing individual plates is very rare. The cutting could also be done with a protractor from the inside or outside.
Also preferred is the arrangement of an insert ring which covers the inner circumference of the installation opening, so that it is protected against radiation from the hotplate as well as against mechanical damage and is additionally stiffened. This insert ring can also be glued in. It preferably engages with an outer flange over the surface of the mounting plate, where the adhesive or the sealing material is then interposed. An embodiment is particularly advantageous in which the same adhesive or sealing ring seals the insert ring from the worktop and keeps the mounting ring tight from the inside against the ingress of liquid. In the lower area, the insert ring can be offset somewhat inwards so that the sealing or adhesive ring grips around the upper edge of the installation opening and thus seals particularly well and forms a flexible, impact-protected edge.
Liquid to pasty adhesives and also adhesives to be applied in solid form, which should be relatively highly heat-resistant, can be used as adhesives. However, the temperatures are no longer so high in the case of a hotplate which is protected against temperature and has a preferably very wide, flat mounting ring on its outer circumference. There are adhesives which tolerate these temperatures readily endure, for example, ceramic adhesive based on aluminum, S f licium- or magnesium oxide, graphite or Circonbasis, the temperatures of 1000 to 3000 °. There are also one-component cyanoacrylate adhesives that cure quickly under the influence of atmospheric humidity and have very high adhesive forces and good heat resistance.
Furthermore, it is possible for the insert ring to consist of a double sleeve which has a spacing from the inner wall which lies against the outer circumference of the installation opening and which is connected to the latter via some connecting webs or the like. It forms additional heat protection and could also contribute to centering.

Fig. 3 shows a variant in which, in the rest of the same design, the
Fig. 4 shows an embodiment without a metallic insert ring, in which an
Man könnte hier eine innere Beschichtung aus einem reflektierenden Material vorsehen, um die Arbeitsplatte weiter vor Temperatureinflüssen zu schützen.FIG. 5 also shows an embodiment with a tear wire corresponding to FIG. 4, in which, however, the
A safe, dense and particularly flat hotplate installation is created, which also enables the use of mechanically and thermally sensitive mounting plates.
