Abstract

A device for forming, filling and closing packaging containers (2) is proposed. In order to create an inert gas atmosphere in the head space in packaging containers which are closed with a film web (3) and to distribute portions of filling material (4) in the containers, the device has a gassing device (12) with a closing device (13) rejuvenating space. This space is delimited at the top by the incoming foil track supported by a slideway (24) and at the bottom by the containers. In this direction project in the conveying direction and in coincidence with the lateral edges (5) of the containers gas supply guide ducts (30, 31; 38, 39) which have gas outlet openings (35) directed transversely to their longitudinal axis. The outlet openings are arranged offset on opposite sides of the gas supply lines.

Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The invention relates to a device for gassing and closing packaging containers according to the preamble of the main claim. In a device of this type, which has become known, for example, from DE-OS-24 21 531, the gas supply lines protrude between the containers and the film web that tapers towards the container at a flat angle. By arranging the gas supply lines over the central axis of a row of containers, a uniform gas distribution is achieved when the contents in the containers assume a flat mirror. However, a device is desirable with which containers can also be closed in a protective gas atmosphere in which, for example, paste-like or paste-like pasty filler portions, due to the filler Form of a pile are filled in the container, the upper part of the pile protruding beyond the container opening.

Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention

The device according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that the accumulation of portions of the filling material is distributed without being in contact with a foreign body from the supported film web with simultaneous flushing with protective gas in the container. The container may have the form of a shell and a chain-like linked, or it may in individual containers, such as cups, bowls ud g l., Will find a transport device with plates using constituting the lower boundary surface for the wedge-shaped fumigation space together with the containers.

Advantageous developments of the device specified in the main claim are possible through the measures listed in the subclaims. In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, in which the gas outlet openings are arranged alternately offset on the two mutually facing sides of the gas supply lines, a gas flow occurs essentially in the form of a serpentine line, so that a clean flushing of the head space of the containers and the accumulation of the filling material occurs , whereby a particularly low gas consumption is achieved.

Beschreibung der ErfindungDescription of the invention

The container-forming, filling and closing device has, in succession, a shaping device 10 in which bowl-shaped containers 2 are formed at equal intervals in a packaging material strip 1, a filling device 11, a gassing device 12 and a closing device 13 in which a film web 3 with the Edges 5 of the contiguous containers 2 are sealed, which are separated by a cutting device 14 after closing. The devices 10-13 for forming, filling, gassing and closing the containers 2 are arranged in a chamber 15 in which an aseptic atmosphere is maintained by initially sterilizing and supplying a sterile gas with overpressure in order to ensure sterile packaging of perishable goods such as foodstuffs. In order to also exclude the oxygen in the air, in the presence of which, in particular, fatty foods and animal feed spoil, a device 12 for supplying an inert gas and maintaining a protective gas atmosphere is arranged in the device between the filling and closing devices 11, 13.

In the area of the gassing device 12, the filled containers 2, which are conveyed by a conveyor device, not shown, are carried by a support track 20 and their laterally projecting edges 5 are guided by strips 21. The film web 3, which after passing through a sterilization device, not shown, enters the chamber 15 through a channel 16, is guided over two deflecting rollers 22, 23 so that it runs above the container 2 over a certain distance in front of the closing device 13. For this purpose, the second deflecting roller 23 is arranged at a distance above the containers 2 so that its lower surface line is at a distance from the top of the containers 2 or their edges 5 which is somewhat larger than that Accumulation of the filler portions 4 used in the containers 2. In this way, the film web 3 is guided to the closing device 13 in a plane inclined at an acute angle to the plane of the containers 2. Between this deflection roller 23 and the closing device 13, a plate 24 is arranged in a stationary manner, the underside of which lies in the inclined plane described above and forms a supporting slideway for the film web 3. Shortly before the front edge of the closing device 13, a plate 25 adjoins the plate 24, which extends into the U-shaped upper welding tool 26 of the closing device and whose underside runs at a small distance and parallel to the top of the container 2. The plate 24, the strips 21 and the support track 20 are firmly connected to two side plates 28. Between the plate 24 and the strips 21 project into the wedge-shaped space delimited by them, two pipes 30, 31 tapering in height, which are connected to a gas distributor 32. The gas distributor 32 is supplied with adjustable gas from a supply of inert gas through a sterile filter 33, a throttle valve 34 and a flow meter 37.

The two tubes 30, 31 extend longitudinally in register with the lateral edges 5 of the containers 2 and the film web 3 in the region of the gassing device 12 have gas outlet openings 35 on the sides facing one another with a flow direction running transversely to the conveying direction of the containers 2. The gas outlet openings 35 are arranged at a distance of two container lengths on a tube 30, 31, namely on the mutually facing sides of the two tubes mutually offset by one container length, so that an essentially serpentine gas flow (arrows) between the film web 3 and the containers 2 at the top and bottom bounded wedge-shaped space from the top, with a combined cross and counter flow in the gassing device 12 is present. With this flow, which also thoroughly flushes the spaces between the contents 4, very low oxygen values are achieved in the closed containers 2 with low gas consumption.

The filler portions 4, which are deposited by the filling device 11 into the container 2 and have a tendency to accumulate due to the pasty, pulpy or pulpy consistency of the material, are filled in the containers 2 as piles with the top projecting above the container opening. While these piles of protective gas are being flushed around, the inclined film web 3, supported by the plate 24, presses the peaks of the piles when the containers 2 and the film web 3 advance and distribute the material evenly in the containers 2.

The film web 3 resting on the edges of the containers 2 at the end of the gassing device 12 is still held down by the shoulder 25 of the plate 24 and sealed by the pressed-together tools 26, 27 of the closing device 13 by means of a U-shaped sealing seam 6 with the respectively supplied container 2. wherein the transverse seam part forms the rear closure seam of the leading and the front closure seam of the subsequent container 2. After the containers 2, which are still connected to one another, exit through an outlet slot 36 in the chamber 15, the closed containers 2 are separated by the cutting device 14.

In the exemplary embodiment described, contiguous containers 2 are filled, gassed and sealed in a single row. 4 shows, in simplified form, an exemplary embodiment in which containers 2 connected in two rows are treated. A gas supply pipe 38 is arranged above the free side edges of a row of containers. Each gas supply pipe 38 has gas outlet openings 35 at a distance of two container lengths, which are arranged offset by one container length.

This embodiment according to FIG. 4 is particularly useful for small containers. The embodiment according to FIG. 5 is suitable for treating containers 2 fed in four rows. Here, in addition to the free edges of the containers 2, gas supply pipes 39 are also arranged above the connected side edges of the containers. The arrangement of the gas outlet openings 35 is described as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3.
