Un tel connecteur pour une carte de circuit imprimé comprend d'une part une partie mâle constituée d'un corps moulé comportant des contacts coudés à 90° qui viennent se souder aux circuits de la carte, le connecteur mâle est donc fixé à l'avant et latéralement par rapport à la carte, les contacts mâles tournés vers l'avant, et d'autre part une partie femelle constituée également d'un corps moulé dans laquelle viennent se loger des contacts femelles pouvant venir s'embrocher dans la partie mâle, cette partie femelle étant débrochable. Sur ces contacts femelles, les fils d'arrivée sont sertis. Ces contacts sont tels que l'on peut y sertir un ou deux fils de 0,5 mm2, or les fils d'arrivée ont très souvent une section de 1,5 mm2 si bien qu'ils ne peuvent pas être raccordés directement à un tel connecteur femelle, on utilise alors un organe intermédiaire que l'on appelle fréquement un bornier sur lequel les fils d'une section de 1,5 mm2 viennent se raccorder par des bornes vissées et d'où repartent, vers le connecteur femeiie, des fils d'une section de 0,5 mm2.These connectors, like many other materials, are subject to standardization and in practice, the materials corresponding to these standards are more or less required. On propose donc de prolonger ces contacts 7 par des languettes, respectivement 9, 10 et 11, pour une rangée horizontale des contacts, l'extrémité de chaque languette aboutissant à un contact à borne vissée comprenant un étrier serre fil 12 et une vis de serrage, 13 pour la languette 9,14 pour la languette 10 et 15 pour la languette 11, ces étriers pouvant recevoir deux conducteurs d'une section de 1,5 mm2 chacun. L'ensemble est placé et maintenu dans le corps 5 de l'adaptateur en matière moulée comportant 48 alvéoles d'entrée 16 de conducteurs 17 répartis selon trois rangées verticales.
