Abstract

The connector consists of several modules (7-12) that fit onto the connector half (5, 6) attached to the end edge of the circuit board (3). The connector half attached to the board is a conventional type of connector. The modules may be control elements (e.g. a switch (8)), display elements (7) (e.g. with indicator lamps), plane connectors (10) or blanks. A conventional plug-on connector (12) may also form part of the line of modules plugging onto the board's connector. The modules form a line along the board's connector closed at the ends by end pieces (11) and having hooks to engage the edge of the connector of the board. The modules have widths equal to the spacings between adjacent boards so that a continuous control 'panel' is produced.
