Definitions
- the invention relates to a timer mechanism for time-delayed triggering of a switching device, in particular for arming explosive devices, in which the switching process is delayed by a shaft by constant rotation of a pretensioned toothed disk and is triggered after passing through this angle of rotation at a predetermined angular velocity.
- Such a time switch mechanism is known from DE-OS 28 03 713.
- This well-known time switch mechanism has a simple, yet robust mechanism that can withstand heavy impact loads.
- the technical principle of this known time switch mechanism is to have a certain period of time between the start of a clockwork and its expiration until the explosive device is armed.
- a toothed disc is used, which meshes with another toothed wheel over part of its circumference, which in turn is connected to a vibrating anchor via a gear. Another part of the circumference of the toothed disk is not provided with teeth.
- This lock washer is in by means of a spring Biased direction of rotation so that after passing through the toothed circumference of the toothed disc, this comes out of engagement with the rest of the gear train and the spring ensures that the toothed disc spins extremely quickly over the majority of its remaining toothless circumference and thereby mechanically one Carries out triggering operation by means of which the explosive device is armed.
- timer mechanism entails that a mine with a timer mechanism is thrown off, for example, by moving trucks. It must therefore be ensured that under no circumstances - for example as a result of damage to the gearwheels or axle journals immediately after the explosive device or the mine has been ejected, the toothed disk can already turn quickly and can arm the explosive device, since then following vehicles may already be endangered. As a result of the robust design of the known time switch mechanism, the probability of such incidents is in the order of 10 -5 . In view of the difficult operating conditions, however, any residual risk for the operating team must be eliminated.
- securing elements are arranged on the circumferential area of the prestressed toothed disk, which block the toothed disk when the angular velocity of the toothed disk is extremely above the predetermined value when passing through a predetermined part of the predetermined rotation angle (toothing of the toothed disk).
- the invention thus provides for additional elements that respond to a sudden change in the angular velocity of the tooth Disc, for example as a result of the breakage of a gear, should respond in the initial period after switching on the clockwork, blocking the further movement of the toothed disc and thus preventing the explosive device from being armed.
- a first embodiment of the principle according to the invention provides that the securing elements include a securing pin which is guided in guide grooves of the circuit boards in one Driver recess of the toothed disc engages and is pulled away from the toothed disc by an external force in a substantially radial direction, and that the guide grooves from a substantially tangential or circumferential direction to the toothed disc over the predetermined angular part and covering the driver recess covering the first part and a second part thereof extending essentially in the radial direction, whereby a T-like or hook-like course of the guide grooves arises, so that, if the locking pin functions properly, it is exposed to the external force after passing through the first part of the guide grooves the driver recess is pulled into the second part of the guide grooves, whereas in the event of a malfunction the locking pin is pressed by the rapid rotation of the toothed disk
- This mechanical design of the securing elements is based on the "competition" between the pretensioning of the toothed lock washer by means of the drive spring on the one hand and the external force that the locking pin wants to pull away from the toothed lock washer. If, after the additional securing period, the securing pin reaches the second part of the guide grooves, it depends on the speed of the toothed lock washer or the driver recess that guides the securing pin whether the external force pulls the securing pin into the second part of the guide groove can (as a rule) or whether due to the high speed of the spinning lock washer in the event of a fault, the locking pin 16 passes the second part of the guide groove so quickly that it can no longer be drawn into it, but strikes the end of the first part of the guide groove and blocks the lock washer .
- a second embodiment of the principle according to the invention provides that the securing elements include a locking washer which is mounted between the lower plate and the toothed washer and is guided in a guide groove of the lower plate by means of a first pin, and by means of a second pin engages in a driver recess of the toothed disk and is pressed by an external force in a substantially radial direction to the center of the toothed disk, and that the guide groove extends from an essentially tangential or circumferential direction of the toothed disk over the predetermined angular part and its driver recess overlapping first part and a second part extending substantially in the radial direction, wherein a T-like or hook-like course of the guide grooves is formed, and that the toothed disc has a circular groove that the second part of the guide at least partially covered.
- the locking washer is pressed properly by the external force after passing through the first part of the guide groove from the driver recess inwards into a subsequent annular groove of the toothed washer, whereby the toothed washer is released in its further movement.
- the lock washer is blocked because the driver recess does not release the lock washer and the lower pin strikes the end of the guide groove.
- the time switch mechanism includes an upper circuit board 10 and a lower circuit board 11, between which a shaft 12 and a bushing 14 are guided, which on the one hand support the toothed disk 13 and on the other hand are prestressed in the direction of the arrow in FIGS. 2-4 by means of a drive spring 15.
- the toothed disk 13 is partially provided on the circumference with teeth which mesh with the teeth of a further gear wheel 24 which in turn is in engagement with further gear wheels forming a reduction gear.
- the last link of this reduction chain forms a vibrating anchor 25.
- the toothed disk 13 Depending on the frequency of the vibrating anchor and the translation or reduction of the gear transmission, the toothed disk 13 therefore rotates at a predetermined angular speed, as long as the teeth arranged on the circumference are in engagement with the teeth of the gear 24, ie until the toothed disc 13 has rotated through the angle ⁇ . To Passing through the angle ⁇ the toothing of the toothed disk 13 ceases on the circumferential side and the drive spring 15 rotates the toothed disk 13 at high angular velocity around the largest part of its remaining circumference.
- the basic idea of the invention is to provide additional securing elements during an initial period after the clockwork has been started, that is to say for a rotation of the toothed disk 13 by an angle ⁇ , which also causes the sudden turning of the toothed disk 13 and thus the arming in the event of damage to the transmission of the explosive device prevented.
- the securing elements used to implement this concept consist of a securing pin 16 which is held in two congruent guide grooves 20, 21 milled in the two plates 10 and 11. With regard to the toothed disc 13, this locking pin 16 is positioned such that it engages in a driver recess 17 on the circumference of the toothed disc 13.
- the two congruent guide grooves 20, 21 are positioned so that they extend tangentially or circumferentially over the edge region of the toothed disc 13 with a first part, and that they extend beyond the circumferential region of the toothed disc 13 with a second part, the second part Part of the guide grooves 20, 21 extends substantially radially with respect to the toothed disk 13 to the outside. Tests have shown that for the proper functioning of the securing elements, it is favorable if the first part and the second part of the guide grooves enclose an angle ⁇ of approximately 70 ° with one another.
- a pin 19 is also attached between the two plates 10 and 11, a spring 18 is tensioned between the pin 19 and the locking pin 16, which consequently exerts a force which extends radially outward with respect to the toothed disk 13. It is advantageous if the direction the force exerted by the spring 18 forms an angle ⁇ with the connecting line between the center of the toothed disk 13 and the locking pin 16 in such a way that when the toothed disk 13 rotates in the direction of the arrow, a restoring force is generated which forces the locking pin 16 to the flank lying counter to the direction of rotation the driver recess 17 presses.
- the direction of the force F of the spring 18 thus consists of a radial component and a tangential component.
- the locking pin For proper guidance of the locking pin, it has shoulders 22 and 23, with the aid of which it slides along on the upper side of the lower board 11 or the underside of the upper board 10. For assembly reasons, the part of the securing pin 16 passing through the guide groove 20 is extended upwards, so that it projects beyond the upper board 10.
- Figure 2 shows the starting position of the clock mechanism. This can be seen from the fact that the beginning of the toothed angular range f3 of the toothed disk 13 is currently in engagement with the toothed wheel 24, that is to say the clockwork is just starting to run.
- the locking pin 16 In this initial position, the locking pin 16 is located at the beginning of the first, tangential part of the guide grooves 20 and 21; after the start of the rotation of the toothed disc 13, the locking pin 16 is gripped by the rear edge of the driver recess 17 and moved along the first part of the guide groove 20, 21 until it has passed through the angle ⁇ .
- the spring constant of the spring 18 must be selected such that when the toothed disc 13 rotates properly with a very low angular velocity, the locking pin 16 can be safely pulled into the second part of the guide groove, but must not be chosen so high that the locking pin 16 can still slide into this second part even if the toothed lock washer 13 is rotated rapidly due to a defect.
- the toothed disk 13 is toothed over its entire circumference.
- a locking washer 26 with pins 29 and 30 are provided here as securing elements.
- the locking washer 16 lies between the lower plate 11 and the toothed disk 13, the upper pin 30 in a driver recess 28 of the toothed disk 13, and the lower pin 23 in a guide groove 27 in. the board 11 engages.
- the course of the guide groove 27 corresponds essentially to the guide grooves 20, 21 in the first exemplary embodiment, with the difference that its second part, which extends in the radial direction, is directed towards the center of the toothed disk 13.
- the driver recess 28 covers the first, circumferentially extending part of the guide groove 27.
- the driver recess 28 is connected via a radially extending transition groove 39 to a ring-shaped groove 37 located further in the center of the toothed disc 13, which is dimensioned such that the upper pin 30 the lock washer 26 can slide therein without obstructing the timing of the timer.
- the locking washer 26 has a semicircular cutout 35, the radius of which is equal to the radius of the socket.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a timer mechanism for time-delayed triggering of a switching device, in particular for arming explosive devices, in which the switching process is delayed by a shaft by constant rotation of a pretensioned toothed disk and is triggered after passing through this angle of rotation at a predetermined angular velocity.
Such a time switch mechanism is known from DE-OS 28 03 713. This well-known time switch mechanism has a simple, yet robust mechanism that can withstand heavy impact loads. The technical principle of this known time switch mechanism is to have a certain period of time between the start of a clockwork and its expiration until the explosive device is armed. For this purpose, a toothed disc is used, which meshes with another toothed wheel over part of its circumference, which in turn is connected to a vibrating anchor via a gear. Another part of the circumference of the toothed disk is not provided with teeth. This lock washer is in by means of a spring Biased direction of rotation so that after passing through the toothed circumference of the toothed disc, this comes out of engagement with the rest of the gear train and the spring ensures that the toothed disc spins extremely quickly over the majority of its remaining toothless circumference and thereby mechanically one Carries out triggering operation by means of which the explosive device is armed.
The use of such a timer mechanism entails that a mine with a timer mechanism is thrown off, for example, by moving trucks.
It is therefore an object of the invention to develop such a time switch mechanism so that arming the mine is impossible at least for a security period after it has been placed.
This object is achieved by the fact that securing elements are arranged on the circumferential area of the prestressed toothed disk, which block the toothed disk when the angular velocity of the toothed disk is extremely above the predetermined value when passing through a predetermined part of the predetermined rotation angle (toothing of the toothed disk).
The invention thus provides for additional elements that respond to a sudden change in the angular velocity of the tooth Disc, for example as a result of the breakage of a gear, should respond in the initial period after switching on the clockwork, blocking the further movement of the toothed disc and thus preventing the explosive device from being armed.
In a time switch mechanism which, like the known time switch mechanism described above, has two circuit boards between which the toothed disk rotates, a first embodiment of the principle according to the invention provides that the securing elements include a securing pin which is guided in guide grooves of the circuit boards in one Driver recess of the toothed disc engages and is pulled away from the toothed disc by an external force in a substantially radial direction, and that the guide grooves from a substantially tangential or circumferential direction to the toothed disc over the predetermined angular part and covering the driver recess covering the first part and a second part thereof extending essentially in the radial direction, whereby a T-like or hook-like course of the guide grooves arises, so that, if the locking pin functions properly, it is exposed to the external force after passing through the first part of the guide grooves the driver recess is pulled into the second part of the guide grooves, whereas in the event of a malfunction the locking pin is pressed by the rapid rotation of the toothed disk at the end of the first part of the guide grooves, the driver recess does not release and the toothed disk is blocked.
This mechanical design of the securing elements is based on the "competition" between the pretensioning of the toothed lock washer by means of the drive spring on the one hand and the external force that the locking pin wants to pull away from the toothed lock washer. If, after the additional securing period, the securing pin reaches the second part of the guide grooves, it depends on the speed of the toothed lock washer or the driver recess that guides the securing pin whether the external force pulls the securing pin into the second part of the guide groove can (as a rule) or whether due to the high speed of the spinning lock washer in the event of a fault, the
In certain applications it is important that the toothed disk must be provided with teeth over its entire circumference, which requires a structurally modified form of the securing elements. In order to meet this requirement, a second embodiment of the principle according to the invention provides that the securing elements include a locking washer which is mounted between the lower plate and the toothed washer and is guided in a guide groove of the lower plate by means of a first pin, and by means of a second pin engages in a driver recess of the toothed disk and is pressed by an external force in a substantially radial direction to the center of the toothed disk, and that the guide groove extends from an essentially tangential or circumferential direction of the toothed disk over the predetermined angular part and its driver recess overlapping first part and a second part extending substantially in the radial direction, wherein a T-like or hook-like course of the guide grooves is formed, and that the toothed disc has a circular groove that the second part of the guide at least partially covered. In this embodiment, the locking washer is pressed properly by the external force after passing through the first part of the guide groove from the driver recess inwards into a subsequent annular groove of the toothed washer, whereby the toothed washer is released in its further movement. In the event of a malfunction, the lock washer is blocked because the driver recess does not release the lock washer and the lower pin strikes the end of the guide groove.
Further refinements of the invention can be found in further subclaims.
Two exemplary embodiments of the time switch mechanism according to the invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to drawings.

The time switch mechanism includes an
The basic idea of the invention is to provide additional securing elements during an initial period after the clockwork has been started, that is to say for a rotation of the
The securing elements used to implement this concept consist of a
For proper guidance of the locking pin, it has
The function of the securing elements according to the invention will now be explained with reference in particular to FIGS. 2-4.
Figure 2 shows the starting position of the clock mechanism. This can be seen from the fact that the beginning of the toothed angular range f3 of the
In this initial position, the
There are now basically two ways: either "straight" into the end of the tangential first part of the guide grooves or essentially radially outwards, pulled by the force of the
In the normal case, that is to say when the
- FIG. 4 shows this possible damage caused by damage to the
toothed disk 13 on the circumferential side in the initial region of the circumferential toothing, that is to say shortly after the clockwork has started, that is to say in turn, before passing through the securing angle α. Since the coupling of thetoothed disk 13 to the clockwork is thereby released, the speed of thetoothed disk 13 suddenly increases under the action of themainspring 15. This has the consequence that thelocking pin 16 has no time from thespring 18 in the second part of the 20,21 to be drawn, but that it, guided by the rear edge of the driver recess 17, is pressed into the end of the first, tangential part of the guide grooves. Since he cannot leave the driver recess 17 in this position, the rotational movement of theGuide groove toothed disk 13 is accordingly blocked. The error that has occurred cannot lead to an early arming of the explosive device.
It goes without saying that the spring constant of the
In the second variant shown in FIGS. 5-8, the
To support this function, the locking
- During normal operation, the locking
washer 26, starting from its starting position (FIG. 6) (guided in theguide groove 27 and the driver recess 28), reaches the branching position of theguide groove 27 and becomes one against the outside under the effect circumferential tongue milling 34pressing wire spring 33 in the inward-facing part of the guide groove 27 (with its pin 29) or via thetransition groove 39 in the circular groove 37 (with its pin 30) printed, whereby thetoothed disc 13 is released (Fig.7 ).
In the event of a fault, i.e. when the
In this embodiment, particular attention must be paid to good guidance of the locking
