Abstract

Container with safety closure, for pharmaceutical preparations or chemicals, having a cylindrical safety sleeve (24; 124) projecting above the end surface of the container neck and disposed externally on the container neck and its projecting portion conformingly receives the circumferential surface of a grip plate (16; 116) of a stopper (14; 114) in the container-closed position. The bottom of the grip plate (16; 116) facing the container mouth rests upon an annularly circumferential radial surface (30; 130) of the safety sleeve (24; 124). The safety sleeve (24; 124) and the container neck (22; 122) are in complementary screw threaded engagement with one another over a limited distance in the opening direction of the stopper (14; 114) and are secured against axial separation from one another. The safety sleeve (24; 124) has at least one projection (36; 136) directed radially inwardly from its inside surface, which is snapped over a first annular bead (32; 132) on the outside surface of the container neck (22; 122), the first annular bead being directed radially outwardly and situated ahead of the projection in the opening direction.

Description

The invention relates to a container with a safety closure, in particular for holding pharmaceutical preparations or chemicals, certain containers made of glass, metal or plastic, which optionally can be pressed through a closure plug which can be pressed into the inside of the mouth of the tubular container neck and which has a handle plate which limits the insertion path and serves for gripping the closure plug is displaceable or can be opened to remove the filling material, a cylindrical locking sleeve projecting over its end face being arranged on the outside of the container neck, the projecting area of which appropriately accommodates the peripheral surface of the handle plate of the sealing plug in the container closed position and is axially movable on the container neck ( DE-A-2438920).

Containers with safety closures are used in particular to hold potential harmful or toxic substances, i. H. Chemicals, cleaning agents, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and. Like., which must be kept away from children. The containers are therefore not only intended to ensure proper storage of the fillers, but also preventively prevent small children from opening the container and being able to suffer health damage by enjoying or touching the contents of the container. On the other hand, it must be possible for an authorized person, who is informed about the function of the safety closure, to remove the contents of the container simply and quickly, so that the closure is actually used and is not put aside after the first use or is replaced by an easier to handle ordinary closure. Since the safety closures essentially serve to protect children, they are also known as child-resistant closures «(KgV).

A large number of different closures have become known for the application purpose set out above. In the case of screw cap closures for medication bottles, for example, an embodiment is customary in which the screw closure consists of the actual screw cap and a screw cap that overlaps the screw cap, which is forced into a position by resilient elements in which it has no engagement with the screw cap when it is rotated in the opening direction , d. H. turns empty so that the bottle remains closed by the screw cap. However, the rotary cap can be pressed against the action of the spring elements mentioned in a position coupled to the screw cap, so that then rotation of the cap in this pressed position also allows unscrewing the actual screw cap. On the other hand, closures with non-positively held plugs have already been designed to be childproof in that the closure plug inserted into the container has been designed in such a way that it cannot be directly grasped by hand, an insertion opening being provided in its head plate for a tool suitable for pulling out. This tool is molded onto a locking ring which is integrally molded onto the sealing plug and connected to it by easily breakable webs, which in this case also represents a so-called tamper-evident seal (DE-C-2 035 747). This closure has proven itself in its security function. It is perceived as a disadvantage, however, that the locking ring with the molded tool is no longer connected to the closure after the container has been opened for the first time and can therefore be lost.

This disadvantage does not exist in a known safety closure of the type mentioned at the outset (DE-A-2 241 650), in which a securing sleeve serves as the securing element, which is arranged axially displaceably on the container neck and is biased by a spring into a securing position, in which it projects beyond the circumferential surface of the handle plate of the sealing plug, but can be withdrawn to open it with one hand against the action of the spring, whereupon the exposed peripheral surface of the grip plate is grasped with the other hand and the sealing plug can be opened. The manipulation described is difficult, however, because force is required both for withdrawing the securing sleeve and for removing the stopper. People with limited mobility and strength of the hands - for example due to a rheumatic illness or due to age - may have difficulty performing the manipulation required for opening.

In contrast, the object of the invention is to create a container closure secured by a displaceable securing sleeve against unauthorized opening, which can be opened and closed by a person who is informed about the closure function, without force or dexterity, requiring manipulations without a detachable separate tool, without the securing function would be impaired compared to the known security locks.

Starting from a container of the type mentioned above, this object is achieved in that the bottom of the handle plate facing the container mouth rests on an annular circumferential radial surface of the securing sleeve, that the securing sleeve and the container neck have a limited path in the opening direction of the sealing plug in complementary thread engagement stand with each other and then secured against axial separation from one another, and that the securing sleeve at least one of its inner surface has a radially inward projection, which is latched on the outer surface of the container neck via a first annular bead lying in front of it in the opening direction and directed radially outwards. In this case, too, the protruding area of the securing sleeve prevents the grip plate of the sealing plug from gripping in the secured state, so that it is first secured against being pulled out of the container mouth. Instead of pulling back the securing sleeve against a spring force, the securing sleeve in the closure according to the invention is rotated in the screwing-on direction, whereby it is first displaced in the opening direction of the sealing plug by the existing thread engagement and takes the sealing plug with it. The handle plate of the sealing plug is still inside the securing sleeve and is therefore not accessible, so that the sealing plug can still not be gripped. Only when the locking sleeve is now deliberately screwed back in the direction of rotation, does the grip plate of the sealing plug emerge from the locking sleeve and the sealing plug can be removed. Then the plug is already loosened and can be pulled out of the mouth of the container with relatively little force.

In order to hold the securing sleeve on the container neck, which cannot be separated in the axial direction, a second radially outwardly directed annular bead is provided at a distance from the first annular bead to the mouth of the container neck which is at least equal to the axial thickness of the grip plate and on which the radially inward projection of the securing sleeve after snapping away over the first ring bead comes to rest when the locking sleeve is turned in the unscrewing direction.

The radially inward projection of the securing sleeve is also expediently designed as a circumferential, closed annular bead.

The design is expediently such that the radially inward projection of the securing sleeve in the container-side end region of the securing sleeve opposite the container mouth and the threaded sections of the securing sleeve and the container neck which are in complementary thread engagement are offset in the axial direction of the container mouth on the outside of the container neck or Inside of the securing sleeve are provided.

In an advantageous development of the invention, the second annular bead on the container neck has an increasingly wedge-shaped cross section from the container mouth towards the actual container, which is delimited on its side facing away from the container mouth by an essentially radially extending edge. If the radially inward projection of the securing sleeve has a cross-section which is complementary to the second annular bead of the container neck, then the wedge surfaces of the annular beads can slide on one another during the first assembly and step over one another with elastic expansion of the securing sleeve, during an axial disassembly of the securing sleeve the radial surfaces of the ring beads that come into contact with one another are then no longer possible.

The securing sleeve is therefore expediently made of an elastically expandable material, and preferably - like the sealing plug - by injection molding from plastic.

The threaded sections of the securing sleeve and the container neck are preferably provided with multi-start complementary threads, which can then have a relatively strong thread pitch. The rotation required to generate the required opening stroke of the securing sleeve can thereby be limited to approximately half a turn of the securing sleeve.

In an advantageous development of the invention, the axial extent of the threaded sections of the securing sleeve and the container neck and the distance of the second radially outwardly directed annular bead provided on the container neck from the first annular bead can be dimensioned such that the threaded section of the securing sleeve when rotating in the screw-on direction up to the threaded section of the container neck can be screwed and then freely rotated on the container neck. The locking ring can thus be turned freely in the fully screwed-up position in both directions, the handle plate of the sealing plug still being accommodated in the locking sleeve, ie. H. is not available. Only when the locking sleeve is screwed back in the direction of rotation with additional exertion of an axial pressure directed towards the container and so the complementary threaded sections come into engagement again and the locking sleeve is therefore brought into the closed position, is the grip plate accessible because the sealing plug is tight Fit of its plug part in the container neck remains in the position partially pulled out axially from the container neck, d. H. is not screwed back with the locking sleeve. The fact that the screwing back of the securing sleeve requires the application of an additional axial pressure represents an additional security against unauthorized opening, because only users who are informed about this requirement will exert this axial pressure.

The part of the sealing plug which engages in the container mouth can either be designed as a so-called “sealing olive” with an oversize in relation to the clear cross section of the container mouth, ie as a plug with a convexly curved peripheral surface, or it is designed with respect to the clear cross section of the container mouth with undersized cylindrical plug part formed, which then seals with molded, radially projecting sealing lamellae in the container mouth.

The sealing plug can also be provided in a manner known per se with an axially compressible hold-down device or also with a drying insert.

The circumferential surface of the handle plate and / or the circumferential surface of the securing sleeve, which is used to open and close the sealing plug, is or are expediently provided with knurled ribs or the like, which can be injection-molded in one piece when manufactured from plastic by injection molding.

In order to facilitate the manipulation of the securing sleeve even by people with reduced hand forces, for example due to gout or rheumatism, it is advisable to provide the securing sleeve with an outer lateral surface that has a preferably polygonal or circular shape that deviates from the circular shape along its longitudinal central axis has a polygon-like boundary. Due to the polygonal design, the locking ring is easy to grip and the lever arm, on which the torque acts, is enlarged in the area of the polygon corners compared to a cylindrical locking sleeve, i. H. With the same torque, a higher or a lower torque creates the same opening torque. In addition, the polygonal securing sleeve can also be held with aids - for example by clamping it in a drawer gap - and the opening force can be exerted on the container, which, with the appropriate shape and size, is even easier to grip and can be rotated relative to the securing sleeve with lower forces.

If the stopper part of the closure has a cylindrical circumferential surface or the shape of a "sealing olive", it may be expedient to provide a circumferential annular bead on the outer surface of the stopper part engaging in the container neck, to which an annular bead is assigned on the inner surface of the container neck, the annular beads are arranged in the axial direction so that the ring bead provided on the stopper part snaps over the ring bead in the container neck when the stopper is pressed into the container neck immediately before reaching the intended stopper position. If the previously opened closure is closed again, when the closure plug is pressed into the neck of the container there is a ratchet sound, which acoustically indicates that the container is correct again, i. H. childproof, locked. If there is no ratchet noise, this is an indication to the user that he has not yet fully turned the securing sleeve back into the closed position in the required manner, and that the closure plug cannot therefore be fully pushed into the intended closed position.

At the same time, the ring bead on the stopper part has the task of sealing the inside of the container against the ingress of ambient air. This seal is further improved if the inside diameter of the container neck is dimensioned somewhat smaller in the area adjoining the ring bead in the direction of the inside of the container compared to the inside diameter of the area located in front of the ring bead on the mouth side.

The embodiment shown in the drawing figures of the container according to the invention, designated in its entirety by 10, with a safety closure is a tablet tube 12, which is closed by a customary closure plug 14 which is pressed into the open mouth of the tablet tube. In the illustrated case (FIG. 4), the sealing plug 14 has the shape of a plug part 18 provided with a knurled or longitudinally ribbed grip plate 16 with a convexly curved peripheral surface, from the hollow interior of which protrudes a hold-down element 12 which can be elastically pushed back in the axial direction.

The tablet tube 12 is provided at its end on the closure side with a neck portion 22 which is somewhat drawn in relative to the remaining tube outer diameter and on which a securing sleeve 24 which is injection molded from plastic and has a longitudinal ribbing on its cylindrical outer surface is placed, the outer diameter of which is approximately equal to the outer diameter of the Tablet tube 12 corresponds.

The neck section 22 of the tablet tube 12 carries, in its area immediately adjacent to the mouth, a threaded section 26 provided with a multi-start thread, to which a complementary threaded section 28 in the interior of the securing sleeve 24 corresponds. The securing sleeve 24 protrudes by the measure of the thickness of the handle plate 16 of the sealing plug 14 over the mouth of the neck portion 22, whereby it fits the peripheral surface of the handle plate 16 so that the handle plate circumference cannot be grasped by hand. The rear surface of the handle plate facing the tube mouth lies in its outer edge area on a circumferential radial annular surface 30 in the securing sleeve, so that the handle plate 16 and thus the plug 14 are positively entrained when the locking ring is axially displaced away from the tube mouth, while at an inevitable displacement of the securing sleeve does not result in such inevitable taking.

In the area lying below the threaded section 26, the neck section 22 is provided with two circumferential annular beads 32, 34 provided at an axial distance from one another, of which the first annular bead 32 lies closely above the steps of the neck section formed at the transition from the neck section to the full diameter of the tablet tube, while the second annular bead 34 is arranged at a distance above the first annular bead 32 at least at a distance corresponding to the measure of the thickness of the grip plate 16. An annular bead 36, which projects radially inwardly from the inner surface of the securing sleeve 24 at the lower end, engages under the first annular bead 32 of the neck section 22 when the tablet tube is closed. The securing sleeve 24 can be screwed axially upward as a result of the engaged threaded sections 26, 28, but some force is required at the beginning of the screwing-on process to tighten the annular bead 36 by elastically widening the lower end of the securing sleeve over the first annular bead 32 on the neck section 22 to snap away. The screwing-on process can then be continued until the ring bead 36 abuts the second ring bead 34 on the neck section 22, only the force holding the stopper part 18 in the mouth of the tablet tube, which is considerably less than the aforementioned unlatching force, having to be overcome.

When turning the securing sleeve in the screwing-on direction, the sealing plug 14 is taken along on the handle plate 16 and the plug part 18 is at least partially pulled out of the container mouth. If the securing sleeve is then screwed back in the opposite direction until its ring bead 36 is locked behind the ring bead 32, the sealing plug remains in the pulled-out position and the exposed handle plate can be gripped and the sealing plug can be pulled out completely. No unusual manipulations are then required to close the tablet tube, but the sealing plug is simply pressed into the open end of the securing ring and thus into the mouth of the tablet tube in the usual way.

The safety function of the safety lock designed in the manner according to the invention is therefore based on the fact that the sealing plug, which is normally inaccessible because of the concealed position in the safety sleeve, must be brought into a position by two opposite screwing operations of the safety sleeve, in which its grip plate is accessible, whereby At the beginning of the first screwing process, an unlatching force, which is not usual with screw caps, has to be exerted on the securing sleeve, which is at least not exerted by small children if they are not clear about the locking function.

The second annular bead 34 provided on the neck portion 22 of the tablet tube 12 and the annular bead 36 of the securing sleeve 24 are expediently designed with a complementary wedge-shaped cross section (FIG. 4) in such a way that the small surfaces slide onto one another during the screwing-in process, with the securing sleeve widening, while radial during the screwing-on process running end surfaces of the annular beads come to rest against one another, which prevent the complete unscrewing of the securing sleeve over the second annular bead 34. The cross-section of the first annular bead 32, on the other hand, is expediently chosen such that the securing ring can be unscrewed, even if only with a correspondingly increased release resistance. The surface of the first annular bead 32 which is intended to prevent the disengagement of the annular bead 36 when the securing sleeve is unscrewed is therefore advantageously not designed to be radially, but rather inclined or rounded at an angle in the direction of rotation.

The securing effect can be increased further if the axial length of the threaded sections 28, 26 on the securing sleeve 24 or on the container neck 22 is relatively short and the distance of the second radially outwardly directed annular bead 34 provided on the container neck from the first annular bead 32 is dimensioned somewhat longer , since the threaded section 28 of the securing sleeve 24 can then be screwed when rotating in the screw-on direction up to the threaded section 26 of the container neck and can then be freely rotated on the container neck without the sleeve being given an axial component of motion. The handle plate 16 is still countersunk in the securing sleeve 24, ie the plug cannot be gripped either. Only when the securing sleeve while simultaneously exerting pressure axially towards the inside of the container in the direction of rotation is screwed, the threaded portions 28, 26 come into engagement and the securing sleeve is screwed back, as a result of which the grip plate 16 of the sealing plug 14 which is not carried along is released and can be gripped.

The modified container 110 shown in FIGS. 5 to 7 largely corresponds to the container 10 described above with regard to the function of the safety lock and the same parts are identified by the same reference numerals with a »1 in front. To avoid unnecessary repetition, it is therefore sufficient to describe only the changes made here, while reference can be made to the preceding description for the corresponding design features. In this case, the container 110 is designed as a square vial, for example made from plastic in the blow molding process, which may serve to hold medication. The securing sleeve 124, as can best be seen in FIG. 6, does not have a cylindrical circumferential surface, but in the direction of view along its central axis, i. H. in the top view of the container 110, a triangular shape deviating from the circular shape with triangular sides of equal length, the triangular sides in the case shown not being straight but slightly convexly curved outwards. It can be seen that the distance R from the central longitudinal axis of the securing sleeve to the corners of the triangle is greater than the distance r from the central longitudinal axis to the center of one of the triangular sides, i. H. the rotational force exerted by a user when the securing sleeve 124 is unscrewed onto a corner of the securing sleeve acts on the comparatively longer lever arm R, i. H. with the same torque, a larger torque is achieved.

The plug part 118 of the sealing plug 114 is - in contrast to the plug part 18 formed as a sealing olive for the container 10 - cylindrical and has a radially circumferential annular bead 140 as a sealing element. A radial annular bead 142 is assigned to the annular bead 140 in the interior of the container neck 122, over which the annular bead 140 snaps over when the sealing plug 114 is fully pressed in in the prescribed manner when it is pressed into the container neck 122. The resulting snap noise also indicates when the closed position is reached. The below, i.e. H. The area of the clear neck opening adjoining the ring bead 142 towards the inside of the container has a somewhat smaller diameter than the area lying in front of the ring bead, so that the ring bead 140 of the stopper part rests with greater tension on the inner wall of the container neck in the fully pressed-in position of the stopper and seals as in an indentation position in which it still stands above the annular bead 142, where the tension is only so great that the plug part 114 is held in the container neck 122 with just little friction and therefore does not accidentally fall out when the container 110 is turned upside down.

Within the framework of the inventive concept, modifications and developments of the above-described exemplary embodiments of the container according to the invention with a safety closure can be implemented. For example, the relative arrangement of the threaded sections 26, 28 or 126, 128 and the annular beads 32, 34 and 36 or 132, 134 and 136 on the neck section 22, 122 or in the securing sleeve 24, 124 can also be interchanged such that the threaded sections are located at the lower end of the container and the annular beads are located at the mouth end of the neck section 22, 122 and the securing sleeve 24, 124. Further possible modifications relate to further developments of the sealing plug which, for example, can also be provided with a dry fabric cartridge instead of the hold-down device 20. As a major advantage of the containers designed in the manner according to the invention, it should be noted on everyone that not only the sealing plugs previously used for unsecured containers, but also the filling and sealing machines used for filling and automatically feeding the plugs and for closing the containers are still used can, d. H. No investments are required for the now secured container closure, specially adapted plug feed and press-in machines, if the container is delivered with a pre-assembled securing sleeve.
