Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, in particular diesel engines, in which the pump and nozzle are combined into a common structural unit, with a slide tappet for driving the pump piston, with a sealing element against the entry of abrasion particles at the pump piston immersion point in the pump piston sleeve is provided in the annular gap between the pump piston and the pump piston sleeve.
- Such injection devices are usually arranged in the cylinder head of the engines, the drive parts protruding vertically or obliquely upwards out of the cylinder head and being driven directly or indirectly by the engine camshaft via a rocker arm, rocker arm, bucket tappet or a similar device.
- abrasion particles form themselves from the drive mechanism of the motor or the pump nozzle, which is unavoidable especially during the running-in process of the motor, these particles get into the area of the sealing gap between the pump piston and the pump cylinder due to gravity, are drawn in and usually lead to seizure of the piston in the can and thus to the failure of the pump nozzle.
- the abrasion particles can originate in particular from the movement of the slide tappet in the mostly hollow cylindrical guideway thereof.
- the invention now aims to further develop an embodiment of the type mentioned at the outset such that the penetration of wear particles and in particular wear particles of a sliding plunger into the annular gap between the pump piston and the pump piston bushing is made considerably more difficult or prevented.
- the invention consists essentially in the fact that the sealing element is designed as a tubular part, the axis of which is arranged coaxially with the axis of the pump piston, the inside diameter is greater than the diameter of the pump piston and the upper edge of the hollow cylinder in the highest position Slide plunger immersed in the cavity of the slide plunger.
- the abrasion particles of the slide tappet or the guideway can only sink outside this tubular part and do not come into direct contact with the sealing gap between the pump piston and the pump piston sleeve.
- the abrasion particles can be rinsed out via a radial passage opening provided at the lower end of the guideway of the slide ram, with the immersion of the tubular part in the cavity of the slide ram resulting in a type of labyrinth seal which prevents penetration via this passage opening Rinsing the abrasion particles prevents any contamination that may occur into the sealing gap between the pump piston and the pump piston sleeve.
- a pump-nozzle assembly is shown in longitudinal section and 1 is a slide ram for driving a pump piston 2.
- the pump piston plunges into the pump piston sleeve 4 at 3 and is rotationally connected to a pin 5 for the attack of the delivery rate adjustment member.
- the pump spring 6 is supported on the engine block 9 by means of a spring plate 7 against the clamping flange 8 for fixing the injection pump nozzle assembly.
- the setting is made on the engine block 9 by means of clamping screws 10.
- a nozzle needle spring housing 12 for the nozzle needle 13 connects to the working space 11 of the injection pump in the axial direction of the pump piston 2, the nozzle needle spring being designated by 14.
- the nozzle needle spring housing 12 is screwed through a union nut 15 to a ring extension 16 of the pump piston bushing 4 which projects downwards.
- a tubular part 17 is pressed in concentrically to the axis of the pump piston 2, the inside width of which is larger than the width of the pump piston 2.
- the upper edge 18 of the tubular part 17 overlaps the lower edge 19 of the slide rod 1 in the highest position of the slide ram 1, so that the tubular part 17 projects into the hollow cylindrical or hollow conical part 20 of the slide ram 1.
- the sliding plunger is slidably guided in the interior of an upwardly projecting ring shoulder 21 of the pump piston liner 4, with this ring on the lower edge through the inner surface 22 shaped approach 21 defined sliding surface, a radial opening 23 is provided.
- the wear particles of the slide plunger 1 can be rinsed out via this radial passage opening 23. If necessary, via this radial scent: suction opening 23, impurities cannot directly enter the annular gap at the immersion point 3 between the pump piston liner and the pump piston, but would first have to take the labyrinth path through the interior of the hollow sliding plunger into the narrow annular space between the tubular part 17 and the pump piston 2 . The occurrence of such contaminants is thus prevented.
- Impact protection is designated by 24.
