Description

The invention relates to a side protection device for scaffolding, in particular tubular steel scaffolding, such as those consisting of a frame made of at least one horizontal spar and two vertical posts attached to the ends thereof, which can be suspended vertically by means of two support arms on two holders fixedly arranged on two tubular stands of the scaffolding and after Hang up to the floor covering or almost to the floor covering of the scaffold and which is both height-adjustable and vertically pivotable.

Such side protection devices are known (DE-GM 69 23 792). They can, for example, be provided with a lattice structure fixedly arranged between their posts, filling the space between the posts, or instead of the lattice structure with struts that mutually support the posts. However, the known side protection devices have substantial disadvantages, which can be seen in the following. According to the applicable safety regulations, the Take the side protection device from the floor covering of the scaffolding to a minimum height. However, the minimum height cannot be maintained with the known side protection devices in the event that the floor coverings in the individual scaffolding fields are at different heights in the event of overlap joints. The known side protection devices can also not be pivoted so that they are not a hindrance to the material loading in the case of material loading. A side protection device is already known (DE-OS 26 58 583) which can be adjusted to the required height and pivoted vertically. For this purpose, the posts of the side protection device have two opposite, provided with a swivel joint, designed as a bracket, with the help of which the side protection device can be clamped to two pipe stands. Each post also has two further brackets designed as brackets, with which the side protection device can be locked with the two tube stands in the set position. However, such side protection devices have the disadvantage that they have to be clamped on the pipe stands and, in order to prevent unintentional pivoting, must be locked on the pipe stands. The assembly and disassembly of the side protection device is therefore relatively time-consuming, apart from the fact that the side protection device must be unlocked before loading material.

The invention has for its object to provide a side protection device of the type described in such a way that after hanging on the holders of the tubular stand of a scaffold also in the event that the floor coverings in the individual scaffold fields in are of different heights, occupies the prescribed minimum height from the floor covering and is seated with its lower end on the floor covering, the side protection device being pivotable vertically without having to be partially detached from the pipe stands.

This object is achieved by the features claimed in claim 1.

The suspended side protection device sits on the floor covering of the scaffolding due to its heavy weight and thereby inevitably assumes the required minimum height above the floor covering. If necessary, it can also be swiveled around the support arms without having to be partially detached from the pipe stands as before. The brackets are also horizontally displaceable in their holders in order to compensate for any deviations in the distance between two pipe stands.

An advantageous development of the side protection device according to the invention is that each bracket for the support arms is formed by a post of the side protection device and a tab fixedly arranged on the post.
