Abstract

Method and device allowing to separate into objects (B1, B2), a paste puddening having a cavity (11) filled with a liquid substance (10) by means of cutting shoes (20, 21) moving towards each other. There is thus obtained a series of objects one after the other (B1, B2), each object being narrowed at its back end by nipping rods (26, 27) and at the same time cut at the front end of the preceding object (B1) by blades (32, 33). The object is then moved transversally with respect to the feed direction (15) of the puddening (11) towards a packaging station.

Description

The invention relates to a device for shaping and packaging filled candies or chewing gums from a soft mass, with squeeze bars that can be moved relative to one another, between which a mass strand provided with a soft or liquid filling is constricted and into a chain of candies or chewing gums which are still connected to one another by narrow mass webs is subdivided, which are cut off one after the other by cut-off knives which are operated synchronously with the squeeze bars and are arranged at a distance from the objects, and are fed to a packaging station.

When molding and packaging candies, the individual pieces to be molded must first be cut off from the mass strand fed to the shaping machine before they can be molded and then packaged. In the case of candies or chewing gums provided with a liquid or soft filling, there is the difficulty that the liquid filling escapes when cut off. It is therefore known to squeeze the mass strand at two successive, later interfaces to such an extent that the opposing walls of the casing lie one on top of the other and the liquid filling is enclosed in the casing between these two pinch points. Such a method and a device suitable for this purpose have become known, for example, from German patent application 1 196 056.

In this known device, the mass strand is tangentially fed to an embossing wheel, which has a plurality of successive chambers on its circumference, which are delimited by axially extending, mutually movable squeeze bars that constrict the mass strand in places and deform it into a coherent chain of filled candy pieces. The pieces located between the squeeze strips are then pressed axially into mold openings arranged in the embossing wheel, the webs remaining between the pieces tearing off. The candies that are subsequently ejected then go randomly to a removal device, where they first have to be sorted again before they can be fed one by one to a packaging machine.

When the candies still connected in a chain are pushed into the mold opening of the embossing wheel, there is a risk that the seam between the superimposed surfaces of the casing opens again or the casing is torn open, the liquid filling being able to escape wholly or in part. If the liquid filling escapes, the machine becomes contaminated, which quickly renders it unusable and must be cleaned. In addition, it is difficult to rearrange the axially ejected candies that arrive randomly on the conveyor before they are fed to the packaging machine, which wraps the individual candies, over more or less long distances.

A device for producing pillow-like containers made of thermoplastic material, which are filled with a liquid or pasty mass, is also already known (French patent specification 1 344 129). Here, the covering is extruded as a plastic tube, which is continuously filled with a pasty or liquid mass during extrusion and then divided into individual sections and then cross-welded and cut off. In this case, the compression and welding at the rear end and the cutting off of the previous pillow at the front end of each container take place simultaneously. In order to prevent the cushion from bursting at the rear end and a part of the filling escaping due to the reduction in volume when a container is pressed together and welded, this is acted on by two ejectors, so that a certain amount of the contents of the cushion are pushed out backwards before the squeeze bars of the welding device close the cushion at the rear end.

Such crushing to reduce the liquid or pasty filling in each of the objects to be produced is not possible with candies and chewing gums, since their casing is not made of thermoplastic, but from a sugar mass, and the candies at the same time with the closing and cutting off of the strand their final shape must receive. A previous push to relieve excess filling would deface the candy or chewing gum.

The object of the invention is to provide a device for shaping and packaging filled candies and chewing gums of the type explained in the introduction in such a way that tearing or damage to the mass strand is avoided during the shaping and cutting of the individual pieces and the individual pieces simultaneously with the shaping and Clipping to get their final shape.

This object is achieved with the invention in that the cutting knives and a plurality of squeezing bars arranged at the same distance from one another are arranged on cutting shoes and in that the height of the squeezing bars increases from one squeeze bar to another in the direction of the cutting knives.

It is hereby achieved that the mass strand provided with the liquid filling is always pressed a little further at the same time by a plurality of pairs of squeezing bars at a distance of the object length and is finally pressed completely together. As a result, the soft or liquid filling contained in the mass strand can gradually recede and it is also prevented that when the candies are pressed in, more liquid or soft filling is contained in the candy than corresponds to the available volume in the casing.

In the area of the cutting shoes, a support rail for the ground strand is expediently arranged, which has recesses for the passage of crush strips. As a result, the only narrow webs still connected to each other Candy chain always a good circulation when advancing.

One of the two cutting shoes which can be moved relative to one another expediently has a first shaping surface which is arranged between the crimping strips and the cutting knife and which interacts with the front part of the support rail which forms a second shaping surface and is delimited by the crimping strip and the cutting knife of the other cutting shoe. This configuration has the advantage that when the pieces are squeezed and cut off, they are given a shape.

Further features and advantages of the invention result from the following description and the drawing, in which a preferred embodiment of a device for molding and packaging liquid-filled candies according to the invention is shown in a partial illustration in a schematic longitudinal section.

A mass strand 11 provided with a liquid filling 10, the sugar coating 12 of which surrounds the liquid filling 10 in the manner of a hose, is indicated by two feed rollers 13 and 14 in the direction of arrow 15 in a combined constriction and cut-off in the direction of arrow 15, which are only indicated in the drawing - And molding station 16 and then advanced into a packaging station 17. The feed rollers 13 and 14, to which two further, laterally arranged shaping rollers can be assigned, but which are not shown in the drawing, push the mass strand 11 in steps between a lower support rail 18 and an upper release rail 19 by a length L of a candy B. corresponding piece in the necking and cutting station 16, which is not shown in its entirety, however.

Arranged in the constricting and cutting station 16 are two opposing cutting shoes 20 and 21 which can be moved towards and away from one another by a drive (not shown here) in the direction of arrows 22 and 23 in time with the advance of the mass strand 11. Each cutting shoe 20 or 21 has a carrier 24, to the surface of which the strand strand 11 faces 25 squeeze strips 28 and 27 are fastened. The squeeze strips 28 and 27 extend transversely to the feed direction 15 and have tapered but blunt edges 26 and 29 which face each other.

It can be seen from the drawing that the crimp strips 27a, 27b and 27c of the lower cutting shoe 21 and the crimp strips 28a, 28b and 28c of the upper cutting shoe 20 are arranged at the same distance L and that the height H or H 2 or H 3 of a crimping strip 27c, 28c or 27b, 28b to the other crimping strip 27b, 28b or 27a, 28a in the direction of arrow 15 is getting larger. Here, the edges of the crimp strips 27a and 28a, which are closest to the cutting blades 33 and 32 arranged at the end of the cutting shoes, lie by the dimension d lower or higher than the cutting edges 35 and 34 of the blades 33 and 32, respectively. the dimension d being somewhat smaller than the diameter of the casing 12 of the mass strand 11.

The cutting knives 32 and 33 are attached to the end faces 30 and 31 of the cutting shoes 20 and 21 facing away from the feed rollers 13 and 14 and lie in the same plane. Their cutting edges 34 and 35 are directed towards each other. Furthermore, the knives 32 and 33 are arranged with respect to one another such that their cutting edges 34 and 35 touch when the blunt edges 26 and 29 of the squeeze strips 27a and 28a are still at a distance from one another which is slightly less than the total thickness of the compressed walls 36 and 37 of the sugar coating 12 of the mass strand 11.

The support rail 18 has at a distance from its front edge 38 a plurality of recesses 39, the size of which is adapted to the crimp strips 27a, 27b and 27c of the lower cutting shoe 21 and through which the crimp strips 27a, 27b and 27c can enter the movement path of the mass strand 11 . The upper cutting shoe 20 has on its underside between the crimp strips 28a, 28b and 28c and between the crimp strip 28a and the cutting knife 32, shaped surfaces 40 which cooperate with shaped surfaces 41 which are formed by the upper side of the support rail between the recesses 39. These shaped surfaces can, for example, be corrugated or, depending on the desired shape of the candy, can also have a bulge.

Arranged in the feed direction 15 behind the cutting shoes 20 and 21 is a guide rail 43 with a U-shaped cross section, the height and width of the guide channel 44 being adapted to the size of the candy B, which has been separated from the mass strand 11 in the constricting and cutting device 16 . The guide rail 43 extends transversely to the feed direction 15 in the direction of a packing head, not shown here, of the packaging machine, which is expediently arranged directly next to the constricting and cutting device 16. A pestle working perpendicular to the plane of the drawing then pushes one candy B after the other into the packing head, where it is wrapped and then transported on. The device shown works as follows:
  • The mass strand 11 is advanced by the feed rollers 13 and 14 in the direction of arrow 15 between the extended cutting shoes 20 and 21 three times by the length L and stopped in between. During standstill, the cutting shoes 20 and 21 move towards one another until they assume the position shown in the drawing. When the cutting shoes 20 and 21 are moved against one another, three candies are preformed at the same time in such a way that in the case of the candy which is the most distant from the cutting knives 32 and 33, the walls of the sugar coating 12 are only slightly pressed in by the crimp strips 28c and 27c, since the edges 26 and 29 of these rearmost squeeze bars 28c and 27c are at a relatively large distance of about 6 d when the squeeze bars have moved completely against one another and the cutting edges 34 and 35 of the knives 32 and 33 touch each other. Then when the next step the cutting shoes 20 and 21 are withdrawn and the mass strand 11 is advanced by the length L, the edges 26 and 29 of the following squeeze strips 28b and 27b further squeeze the walls of the sugar coating 12, but not yet so far that they are pressed together tightly. The liquid filling in the preformed candies can therefore flow further backwards in the gap between the only approximate shell walls against the feed direction 15, so that the candies gently squeezed at their edges cannot burst.

The edges 26 and 29 of the squeeze strips 28a and 27a closest to the knives 32 and 33 squeeze the walls 36 and 37 of the sugar coating of the mass strand firmly, while at the same time the knives 32 and 33 insert the previously formed and inserted into the channel 44 of the guide rail 43 Cut bonbon B 1 from the next bonbon B 2 located between the shaped surfaces 40 and 41 of the cutting shoes 20 and 21.

The cutting shoes 20 and 21 are then moved apart again in the direction of the arrows 22 and 23, while at the same time a plunger, not shown here, pushes the candy B i in the guide rail 43 perpendicular to the drawing plane to the packing head of the packaging machine and moves it back again, so that the spout the constricting and cutting device 16 opposite space in the channel 44 of the guide rail 43 is free again. Then the feed rollers 13 and 14 advance the mass strand 11 again by the length L, the foremost candy B 1 of the chain entering the guide rail 43 and the subsequent candies B 2 and B 3 advancing by the dimension L. The cutting shoes 20 and 21 then move towards one another again, the walls 36 and 37 being increasingly squeezed together by the edges 26 and 29 of the squeeze strips 28 and 27 and the foremost candy being cut off again by the knives 32 and 33. This process is then repeated in rapid succession, so that one candy after the other is shaped, gradually pressed on and cut off and then fed to the packaging.
