Claims (10)

1. A tripping apparatus of the « break glass" type comprising an actuating member and a plate disposed over the actuating member and preventing any untimely action thereon, a portion at least of said plate being elastically deformable reversibly between two stable forms, one form corresponding to a ready position in which the plate is curved outwardly, thus leaving the actuating member in the inoperative position, and the other form corresponding to a tripping position in which the plate is curved inwardly, thereby tripping the actuating member, characterised in that provided in the casing (1) is a passage (11) providing access to the lower face of the plate (4).
2. A tripping apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the passage (11) is narrow so that only a specialist tool can be engaged therein.
3. A tripping apparatus according to either one of claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the plate (4) is held in its form by a clamping means (31, 43).
4. A tripping apparatus according to claim 3, characterised in that the clamping means comprises two oppositely disposed recesses (31) in a cover (3), the plate being engaged in said recesses by means of a portion at least of its periphery.
5. A tripping apparatus according to claim. 3, characterised in that the clamping means is a rigid frame (43).
6. A tripping apparatus according to claim 3, characterised in that the plate (4) has two portions, one portion (41) being elastically reversibly deformable and the other portion forming the rigid frame (43) which is associated therewith.
7. A tripping apparatus according to claim 6, characterised in that the deformable portion of the plate (4) is a central strip (41), the rigid frame (43) being formed by two lateral strips (42, 42') which are detached from the central strip (41) and two transverse strips (44, 44') which are integral with the central strip (41) and which join the lateral strips (42, 42').
8. A tripping apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that a joint is fitted to the plate (4) so as to seal the apparatus.
9. A tripping apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the actuating member is disposed in a casing (1) closed by a cover (3) forming a housing for the plate (4), characterised in that the cover (3) is removably fitted to the casing.
10. A tripping apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that plate (4) is made of transparent material.
