Abstract

A box for protecting an alarm or security device, comprising a support (1) for the alarm device (7) in the form of a rectangular plate (1) disposed vertically and, for the protection of this device, a cover (13, 23) which is pivotally mounted on the support and is normally retained, relative to the latter, in a closed position by means of a shear pin (16, 20) but which may be opened after the breakage, by a manual action, of said pin, by pivoting about a pivot axis which is constituted by two pins (14) provided at the lower end of the cover, characterised in that the cover (13, 23) whose pins (14) are engaged in corresponding slideways (4, 5) formed on the respective vertical edges of the support (1), is retained in the closed position adjacent the upper end by insertion of its upper end edge in a formed-over ledge (6) of the support, and, adjacent the lower end, by the shear pin (16,20) which is connected to the support and whose breakage under the effect of an impact in the downward direction on the cover causes the downward sliding of the two pins (14) and a corresponding disengagement of the upper edge of the cover out of the ledge (6), so that the cover can then be opened by pivoting it about the two pins.
2. A box according to claim 1, characterised in that the protective cover (13, 23) is of transparent plastics material.

A box according to one of the claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the shear pin (16) is placed in a cavity (15) of the support plate (1) provided in the lower part of the latter, so that said pin is in contact with the lower horizontal edge of the cover (13) when its upper end edge is engaged in the formed-over ledge (6) of the support plate (1).
4. A box according to one of the claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the cover (13, 23) is furthermore connected to the support plate (1) by a flexible connecting element (19) for maintaining the cover (13, 23) connected to the support plate (1) after opening the box.
5. A box according to claim 3, characterised in that it comprises a store (17) of pins carried by the support plate (1).
6. A box according to one of the claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the shear pin (20) is carried by a small support plate (21) covering an orifice (22) formed in the cover (23) and cooperating with a tab (24) connected to the support plate (1), the small support plate (21) being held in position by a lock (28).
7. A box according to claim 6, characterised in that the small plate (21) is in the shape of a regular polygon, the orifice (22) of the cover (23) having a complementary shape, spare pins (20) being placed at equal distances from the middle of the corresponding sides of the small plate (21).
8. A box according to claim 7, characterised in that the small plate (21) has a square shape and includes on one of its sides a groove (25) in which is engaged an edge of the orifice (22) formed in the cover (23) and it is applied by the lock (28) against the opposite edge of the orifice (22).
