Definitions
- the invention relates to a chair, in particular garden chair, with a height-adjustable seat on a cross frame with two pairs of support struts, each of which engages in the area of the front or rear edge of the seat on the seat and is pivotally connected to one another about a central axis of rotation which is essentially parallel to the seat edges .
- chairs of this type are known in which the pair of support struts of the cross frame which engages the seat in the region of the rear seat edge is part of the backrest of the chair, in that it is formed by the two outer, arcuately curved longitudinal struts of the backrest, namely by the latter sections extending below the seat.
- the seat is pivotally connected to the backrest at the rear edge of the seat about an essentially parallel axis of rotation and is provided with two latching slots which extend in the longitudinal direction of the seat and face each other and into which two lateral, aligned latching pins protrude at the upper, adjacent end of the other pair of support struts.
- the locking slots are each comb-shaped and with several at different intervals provided by the rear edge of the seat arranged side slots, which are directed away from the common central axis of rotation of the two pairs of support struts and serve to receive the adjacent stylus in the respective height position of the seat, which is assigned a certain inclination of the backrest, since their longitudinal struts below the Seat that form a pair of support struts, as mentioned. The lower the seat is adjusted, the more the backrest is tilted backwards.
- the invention has for its object to provide a chair, in particular garden chair, of the type specified, in which the height adjustment of the seat is improved in a simple manner, in particular is trouble-free and reliable, without the respective user exerting excessive force and complicated movements of the Chair would have to take place, the locking of the chair in the respectively set position should also be visually controllable if possible and a resilient design of the chair should be possible.
- Fi. 3 shows the longitudinal section along the line A - B in FIG. 2.
- the garden chair consists essentially of a seat 1, a backrest 2 and a cross frame 3, which allows the height of the seat 1 to be changed above the standing area.
- the cross frame 3 has a central axis of rotation 4, which runs essentially parallel to the front seat edge 5 and the rear seat edge 6.
- the seat 1 and the backrest 2 are pivotally connected to one another about an axis of rotation 7 parallel to the central axis of rotation 4.
- the backrest 2 has four mutually parallel, spaced-apart longitudinal struts 8 which are connected to one another at the upper end by a cross strut 9 and are seated on an axis 10 at the lower end.
- the seat 1 is also pivotably mounted on this, so that the axis 10 thus defines the mentioned axis of rotation 7 according to FIG. 1.
- the cross frame 3 consists of two pairs of support struts 11 and 12 which are pivotally connected to one another about the central axis of rotation 4.
- the support strut p aar 11 is pivoted at the upper end in the area of the front seat edge 5 on the seat 1 about an axis of rotation 13 parallel to the central axis of rotation 4.
- the other pair of support struts 12 extends downward on the side facing away from the seat 1 from the central axis of rotation 4 and is provided with an arm 14 for latching connection to the backrest 2.
- the arm 14 is designed as a metal fitting and is formed by two mutually parallel plates 15 and 16, which extend across the central axis of rotation 4 between the associated pair of support struts 12 with a wider section 15 ′ and 16 ′ and are thus fastened to the pair of support struts 12.
- the two plates 15 and 16 are at a greater mutual distance in order to form a longitudinal slot 17. Across this extends the axis 10 which connects the backrest 2 and the seat 1 to each other about the axis of rotation 7 pivotally.
- the arm 14 can be fixed with the free end 14 'on the backrest 2 at different distances from the axis 10.
- the arm 14 at the free end 14 ' has two lateral, aligned locking pins 18, and two aligned locking slots 19 are provided on the mutually facing inner sides of the two central longitudinal struts 8 of the backrest 2, between which the arm 14 projects which protrude the locking pins 18.
- the latching slots 19 extending in the longitudinal direction of the backrest are each comb-shaped and provided with a plurality of side slots 20 which are arranged at different distances from the axis 10 between the backrest 2 and the seat 1 and which are located on the side facing away from the seat 1 of the respective locking slot 19 and include an acute angle ⁇ with the longitudinal axis 21 of the respective longitudinal strut 8.
- the two locking pins 18 each engage in two aligned side slots 20 of the two locking slots 19 in order to support the backrest 2, which is fixed in terms of its inclination by the axis 10, which connects it to the seat 1, in the longitudinal slot 17 of the arm 14 is guided.
- the arm 14 is bent.
- the seat 1 occupies the highest position, since the two locking pins 18 of the arm 14 engage in the lowermost side slots 20 of the locking slots 19.
- the garden chair is very light and easy to use to adjust the height of the seat 1, and the reliable mutual locking of arm 14 and backrest 2 can be checked by visual inspection.
- the stability and stability of the garden chair are excellent.
- the arm 14 is made of spring steel, for example by using spring steel sheet for the two plates 15 and 16, then in conjunction with the angled shape of the arm 14 which can be seen particularly clearly from FIG. 3, there is an excellent spring action, i.e. cushioning of the seat 1 and the backrest 2 with respect to the cross frame 3.
- This resilient design of the garden chair which can be implemented in the simplest way without additional effort, increases the seating comfort considerably.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a chair, in particular garden chair, with a height-adjustable seat on a cross frame with two pairs of support struts, each of which engages in the area of the front or rear edge of the seat on the seat and is pivotally connected to one another about a central axis of rotation which is essentially parallel to the seat edges .
For example, chairs of this type are known in which the pair of support struts of the cross frame which engages the seat in the region of the rear seat edge is part of the backrest of the chair, in that it is formed by the two outer, arcuately curved longitudinal struts of the backrest, namely by the latter sections extending below the seat. The seat is pivotally connected to the backrest at the rear edge of the seat about an essentially parallel axis of rotation and is provided with two latching slots which extend in the longitudinal direction of the seat and face each other and into which two lateral, aligned latching pins protrude at the upper, adjacent end of the other pair of support struts. The locking slots are each comb-shaped and with several at different intervals provided by the rear edge of the seat arranged side slots, which are directed away from the common central axis of rotation of the two pairs of support struts and serve to receive the adjacent stylus in the respective height position of the seat, which is assigned a certain inclination of the backrest, since their longitudinal struts below the Seat that form a pair of support struts, as mentioned. The lower the seat is adjusted, the more the backrest is tilted backwards.
The invention has for its object to provide a chair, in particular garden chair, of the type specified, in which the height adjustment of the seat is improved in a simple manner, in particular is trouble-free and reliable, without the respective user exerting excessive force and complicated movements of the Chair would have to take place, the locking of the chair in the respectively set position should also be visually controllable if possible and a resilient design of the chair should be possible.
This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Advantageous refinements of the chair according to the invention are characterized in the remaining claims.
Darin zeigen, jeweils schematisch:
- Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht eines erfindungsgemäß ausgebildeten Gartenstuhls;

Fi. 3 den Längsschnitt entlang der Linie A - B in Fig. 2.Fi. 3 shows the longitudinal section along the line A - B in FIG. 2.
The garden chair consists essentially of a seat 1, a
The
The
The
In the area of the
The
In the case shown, the seat 1 occupies the highest position, since the two
The garden chair is very light and easy to use to adjust the height of the seat 1, and the reliable mutual locking of
If the
