Description

The invention is directed to a drafting head for a drafting system with a plurality of revolving needle bars, which move approximately in one plane in the working area.

Such stretching heads, which are also referred to as intersectings, are used for warping wool fleece and the like. Like. And usually have an upper and lower needle field moved by the material to be warped, each consisting of a plurality of needle bars. The needle bars, which are also referred to as GiII or intersecting bars, each have a row of steel needles arranged at a distance from one another.

In previously known embodiments, the needle bars are seated on revolving rollers or the rollers themselves carry the needles, the needles engaging in the material to be stretched and describing a circular arc movement. In these embodiments, components of the expanded material are taken along when the needles emerge, since the needles are not perpendicular here, which leads to the formation of coils on the rollers. This reduces work performance. In addition, in these embodiments there are difficulties in conveying the material further after leaving the processing line, since the devices that continue the material cannot attack directly at the end of the processing line due to the needles moving in a circular arc. Shorter fibers are therefore often not adopted.

In a somewhat more advantageous embodiment in this regard, the needle bars are arranged on a special tooth chain which is guided over rollers in such a way that the needle bars run straight through the material to be stretched over a greater distance along the working area and at the end over a roller with a relatively small diameter be led upwards. This mechanically complex construction is susceptible to wear and also has the disadvantage that fibers are taken along when the needles emerge.

Finally, it is still known to guide the needle bars longitudinally through the material and back above the working area with the help of screws, the needle bar ends engaging in the screw turns, and lifting the needle bars at the end of the working area by means of cams attached to shafts, which run synchronously with the longitudinal drive and hit the needle bars in the return plane. In this embodiment, a vertical emergence of the needles from the material to be warped is ensured so that residues do not get caught, but the use of the worm drive and the raising of the needle combs involve the operation of such machines with considerable noise and the mechanical The stress on the needle bars is relatively high.

The invention has for its object to avoid the disadvantages of known embodiments and to create a stretching head that ensures a quiet, fast and low-maintenance operation with relatively low manufacturing costs.

This goal is achieved in a stretching head of the type mentioned at the beginning by linear motors as a drive for the longitudinal movement of the needle bars through the material to be stretched and / or for the return of the needle bars in the longitudinal direction.

Such electromagnetic linear motors are commercially available with the corresponding power for transporting metallic parts. They are excellently suited for the longitudinal drive of the metallic needle bars, whereby they have the advantage of being completely silent as such and of being electronically easily controllable to suit the needs of the individual case. In addition, in contrast to a guide in chains, the needle bars are not mechanically stressed and accordingly have a longer service life.

With particular advantage, according to the invention, screws can be provided at both ends of the working area level, arranged in pairs perpendicular to the working area level and engaging in recesses in the needle bars with a helical turn, for lifting or lowering the needle bars from or into the working area level. The raising or lowering of the needle bars with the aid of rotating screws has considerable advantages over the previously known constructions in which the needle bars are raised by cams, insofar as the noise level can be kept considerably lower, particularly in view of the legal requirements Regulations is of particular importance. In addition, the needle bars are less worn by the procedure according to the invention.

It has proven particularly favorable that linear motors are used as the drive in the longitudinal direction and screws are used to raise or lower the needle bars. The two types of horizontal and vertical drive complement each other perfectly, whereby the entire arrangement can be operated at a very high working speed with little noise.

In a further embodiment of the invention, replaceable pressure pieces are provided on the needle bars in the engagement area of the screws. These thrust pieces can be inclined in accordance with the increase in the screw turns. These pressure pieces are particularly preferably made of an abrasion-resistant plastic. These wear parts are therefore inexpensive to replace, while the use of plastic reduces the noise when the screws engage and the abrasion of the latter.

The needle bars are preferably guided laterally in different planes in the longitudinal direction. This ensures that the needle bars are always held perpendicular to the plane of the work area even when magnetic field-related tilting moments occur. The tour can take place, for example, that vertically spaced outward pins are provided on the needle bars, which engage in corresponding longitudinal grooves which run parallel to the working area plane.

Finally, it proves to be particularly favorable that the lifting or lowering speed somewhat precedes the longitudinal conveying speed of the linear motors. Since the linear motors sometimes deliver a drive movement that is not completely homogeneous, this ensures that the needle bars at the end of the work area are reliably removed in any case.

Dabei zeigen:

  • Fig. 1 einen Längsschnitt durch das Oberteil eines Streckkopfes (oberer Streckkopf);
Further features, advantages and details of the invention will become apparent from the following description of a preferred embodiment and from the drawing. Show:
  • 1 shows a longitudinal section through the upper part of a stretching head (upper stretching head).
  • 2 shows a cross section along the line 11-11 in Fig. 1. and
  • Fig. 3 is a schematic plan view of a stretching head according to the invention.

An upper stretching head with an upper needle field is shown in the figures. Each needle field is formed by a large number of needle bars 1 lying close together.

Each needle bar 1 carries e.g. Potted in a cross-sectionally U-shaped groove, a row of needles 2 arranged side by side. The upper part of each needle bar 1 has a rectangular basic shape. On each narrow side 3, 4 of each upper part of the needle bars 1, pins 5 are arranged vertically one above the other in the use position. These pins are surrounded by sleeves 6 made of impact-resistant and heat-resistant Teflon. The interior of the rectangular upper part of the needle bars 1 is designed as a recess 7. At the left and right ends of the upper edge 8 of the recess 7, a pressure piece 9 made of abrasion-resistant plastic is inserted, the undersides of the pressure pieces 9 being slightly inclined with respect to the horizontal working area plane.

The pins 5 of the needle bars 1 run in horizontal, mutually parallel guide grooves 10. Two guide grooves 10a for the needle bars 1 allow the needle bars 1, which are arranged closely one behind the other and engage therein, to form an arrangement facing the working area level, while in pairs lying on both sides of the needle bars 1 Guide grooves 10b above the guide grooves 1 Oa pick up the needle bars 1 to be returned. The needle bars 1, which are guided in the grooves 10a, form the upper needle field. Accordingly, a lower needle field can be set up symmetrically to the work area level.

At each of the two ends of the needle fields formed by the needle bars 1, two screws 11, 12 which are perpendicular to the working area plane are arranged. In each case one turn 13 of the screws 11, 12 engages in the recess 7 of the needle bars 1 in the region of the underside of the pressure pieces 9, the inclination of which corresponds to that of the slope of the screw turn 13.

Linear motors 14, 15 are arranged on both sides of the needle fields formed by the needle bars 1. These linear motors 14, 15 are commercially available designs, not shown in detail. The linear motor 14 brings about the advancement of the needle field engaging in the working area level, while the linear motor 15 ensures the return of the needle bars.

The entire sequence of movements in the upper stretching head takes place as follows: The needle bars 1 located in the lower level in FIG. 1, which follow one another closely, are moved in the direction of the arrow by the linear motor 14, the needles 2 of the needle bars 1 being moved by the one to be machined Material, e.g. comb a wool fleece, which is not shown in the drawing. The needle bars 1 are guided in the grooves 10a secured against tilting. When reaching the end of the working distance, one screw turn 13 of the screw 11 engages in the recess 7 of the needle bars 1, the needle bars 1 then sitting on the pressure pieces 9 on each screw 11 and being lifted up by the synchronous rotation of the screws 11 . In the area of the return level, i.e. H. thus the guide grooves 10b, the linear motor 15 engages the needle bars 1, removes them from the screws 11, attaches them to the needle field to be returned and guides them back in the direction of the arrow. At the end of the return path, the screws 12 engage again in an analogous manner in the recess 7 of the needle bars 1 and, by rotating them in the opposite direction, like the screws 11, set them down into the region of the guide grooves 10a.

Since the linear motors 14, 15 can have a low conveying discontinuity, the screw pairs 11, 12 run at such a speed that the vertical conveying speed is somewhat greater than the horizontal conveying speed and consequently any stagnation due to discontinuities is reliably avoided.

Depending on the embodiment, it can also be advantageous to provide pushbutton limit switches at the end of the horizontal conveying sections in order to control the feed of the linear motors 14, 15 or the speed of the drives for the screws 11, 12 via control electronics.

By using the linear motors 14, 15 for the horizontal and the screws 11, 12 for the vertical drive, a very low noise level is achieved in connection with the sleeves 6 and the pressure pieces 9 made of plastic during operation. Of course, it is also possible within the scope of the invention to choose other mechanical devices for the vertical drive instead of the screws, or to accomplish the vertical drive by electromagnetic means, in the latter case the entire arrangement being largely without mechanical drive parts.
