- Apparatuses for flaring the ends of the tubes corresponding to the preamble of claim 1 are already known (French Patent No. 2,371,981). These devices respectively have a body with means for moving a mandrel whose conical end acts in thrust in the corresponding bore of a plurality of concentric and independent jaws in the form of sectors connected by an elastic retaining means, positioned in a circular groove established below the flange common to each aforementioned jaw so as to constitute the actual expansion head, the flange of which bears in the stepped bore of a socket fixed at the end of the body.
- Such devices and in particular their expansion heads have drawbacks caused by the positioning and the very conformation of the elastic means ensuring the retention of the jaws between them.
- This elastic means is housed and positioned in a groove formed circularly at the periphery of the collar of the sleeve, so that it considerably limits the dimensioning of the jaws of the expansion head for the same sleeve.
