Description
The invention relates to a pivotable ink deflector for the writing head of an ink writing device with a drive device which covers the outlet openings of the ink writing head via a cover plate in a rest position and releases them in an operating position.
In the case of ink writing devices, a writing head is moved line by line along a recording medium with the aid of a drive device. This writing head can consist of an ink mosaic writing head in which a plurality of piezoelectrically operated writing nozzles are arranged in a mosaic manner. These writing nozzles are supplied with writing fluid via an ink supply device and controlled via a character generator.
Since such a write head is located at a relatively close distance from the record carrier, dirt is often carried to the nozzle plate which closes the write head on its write side, especially when changing the record carrier. In addition, since the piezoelectrically operated writing nozzles are constantly filled with ink, there is a risk that when the recording medium is changed, the recording medium is drawn past the nozzle plate of the writing head and is thereby sprayed with ink.
From DE-AS 27 0 2 663 an elastic cover for closing the nozzles of a write head is known. The elastic cover is provided with a drive device which, in a rest position, covers the outlet openings of the ink writing head via an elastic cover plate and releases it in an operating position.
However, the described device has the disadvantage that it is fixed in place on the edge of the writing device, so that the writing head has to be brought into a certain position in order to cover the nozzle openings.
A device for protecting and cleaning the outlet openings of a write head in ink writing devices is also known from DE-OS-26 07 313. This device consists of an ink-deflecting screen, which can be pivoted against an elastic force and is deflected against an elastic force, with an attached scraper element, which stretches over the outlet openings during pivoting and rests against the outlet openings. An electromagnet is described as the drive device for the ink-repellent screen, which acts on a lever arm of the ink-repellent screen.
It is further described in DE-OS 27 42 963 an electrical drive device for a pivotable ink-repellent screen, which is attached directly to the write head and has a micro-DC motor connected to the ink-screen, which actuates the ink-screen.
However, all of these devices have a relatively complicated structure and are not suitable for achieving the object on which the invention is based.
The object of the invention is to provide an ink-repellent screen with an associated drive device for an ink-writing device, which makes it possible to automatically close and clean the ink-writing head during transport pauses during transport. The device should be simple and also make it possible to briefly lift off the cover of the nozzle openings for rinsing purposes.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that a wiping element is arranged in the region of the cover plate in such a way that when the ink deflector is actuated, the wiping element sweeps over the exit area of the write head, and in that the cover plate and the wiping element can be swiveled out separately as required, and thus the outlet openings of the Part of the ink-repellent cover are arranged.
1 The closure system according to the invention is assigned to the writing head itself and consists of a cap which can be moved in front of the nozzles and which carries a wiper and an elastic closure cap. An energy store is assigned to the drive device. The energy accumulator is tensioned, for example, by a movement of the writing carriage or held by a magnet system or other means. In certain operating conditions, such as switching off the device during longer pauses in writing, opening the housing cover or power failure, the latch is released and the nozzles are automatically closed via the energy store, with a wiping process taking place beforehand. Regardless of this opening and closing via the ink deflector, it is possible to briefly lift off the cover plate at the outlet openings of the nozzle in order to rinse the nozzles. The outflowing ink is automatically drained off without soiling the recording medium. 1
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a lever which can be pivoted about a fixed bearing point on the write head via a magnet system is provided, on the lever a cap comprising the cover plate, the wiping element and an exit window and comprising the write head is mounted, on the one hand via a spring element is articulated on the lever and on the other hand has a stop limiting the pivoting range of the cap by abutment against the fixed bearing point, so that all the positions of the cap can be adjusted by simply pivoting the lever.
Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawings and are described in more detail below, for example.

- 7 to 9 is a schematic representation of the side view of a pivotable ink-repellent screen arranged below the print head.
The pivotable ink deflector for the writing head of an ink writing device shown in FIG. 1 essentially consists of a sealing cap 1 comprising the
The illustration in FIG. 1 shows the pivoting deflector in the functional position on the
To close the write head during write pauses, the magnet system is switched off via the
The re-tensioning of the energy store designed as a
The ink occurring in the outlet area of the nozzles when the pressure in the ink supply system rises is discharged through the cap 1 in such a way that the recording medium is not soiled.
In the embodiments of the pivotable ink deflector shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, all positions of the cap can be adjusted by pivoting the actuating
If the coil 1 0 of the magnet system is switched off according to the representation in FIG. The cap 1 lies on the
The position of the ink-repellent orifice shown in FIG. 6 and assigned to the rinsing position is achieved by Lowering the
Sämtliche Verschlußelemente für die Düsenöffnungen sind unterhalb des Schreibkopfes angeordre t.In the embodiment of the pivotable ink deflector shown in FIGS. 7 to 9, the entire device is completely assigned to the writing carriage. The movements of the ink-repellent screen take place in a vertical plane, the
The actual ink-repellent screen consists of the cap 1 carrying the wiping and closure elements, which is mounted on the
By pivoting over a holding force H, it is possible to bring the cap 1 into the rinsing position shown in FIG. 9, a
