Description

In his previous Swiss patent No 628391, the author of the present invention described a security window comprising a counter bowl, the middle part of which is placed flush with a security window extending to contact with the counter on each side of the bowl, which is formed of at least one thin piece capable of vibrating. The mobile assembly of an electro-acoustic transducer is fixed under the said thin part to make it vibrate like a loudspeaker membrane under the control of at least one microphone. This security window has proven to be effective. However, there is a difficulty which arises from the fact that the microphones sometimes cause annoying whistling (Larsen effect), which can only be eliminated with this construction by searching by trial and error for another location for the microphones. In addition, having the microphones distant from the cuvette requires connection wires.

  • 1. que la cuvette est formée de deux demi-cuvettes séparées par un joint isolant les deux demi-cuvettes l'une de l'autre du point de vue vibratoire;
  • 2. que la pièce mince constitutive de chacune des deux demi-cuvettes est disposée d'un côté de la vitre de sécurité et est associée à un transducteur électro-acoustique commandé par un microphone;
The author of the present invention has found that these difficulties can be eliminated by providing:
  • 1. that the bowl is formed of two half-bowls separated by a seal isolating the two half-bowls from one another from the vibrational point of view;
  • 2. that the thin part constituting each of the two half-bowls is arranged on one side of the safety glass and is associated with an electro-acoustic transducer controlled by a microphone;
  • 3. that the microphone controlling the electro-acoustic transducer of one of the half-cuvettes is placed under the other half-cuvette.

Not only is the Larsen effect thus eliminated thanks to such an arrangement, but the latter has the additional advantage that the microphones are integral with the bowl and are put in place at the same time as the latter. Thus the microphones are no longer apparent and all the connection wires of these microphones outside the bowl are eliminated.

L'invention est conforme à la revendication 1.The invention is in accordance with claim 1.

  • Fig. 1 en est une vue en perspective.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment and a variant of the security window according to the present invention.
  • Fig. 1 is a perspective view thereof.
  • Fig. 2 is a cross section according to 2-2 defig. 1.
  • Fig. is a view similar to FIG. 1, but relating to a variant.

In fig. 1 and 2, we see in 1 part of a counter, for example a bank, and in 2 a safety glass separating half of the counter on the customer side, the other half on the staff side of the establishment.

2.In a rectangular recess 3 of the counter 1, extending symmetrically on both sides of the glass 2, is arranged a bowl 4, so that its upper edge is at the level of the upper face of the counter 1. The glass 2 extends practically until contact with this upper face and with the upper edge of the bowl 3, as seen in FIG. 2.

The bowl 4 is formed of two half-bowls 5, 6 separated by an empty space or joint 17 which is preferably filled with a material which practically does not transmit the mechanical vibrations of one of the half-bowls to the other, such as rubber or silicone. Each of these half-cups is made of a thin piece, metallic or plastic, capable of vibrating like a speaker membrane.

An electro-acoustic transducer 7 is fixed under the edge 8 of the half-bowl 5, to vibrate the latter like a loudspeaker membrane.

An identical transducer 9 is fixed in the same way under the edge 10 of the half-bowl 6 which is opposite to the edge 8.

A microphone 11 is placed under the edge 8 of the half-bowl 5 and is used to control the transducer 9 located under the edge 10 of the other half-bowl 6. Symmetrically, a microphone 12 is placed under the edge 10 and controls the transducer 7 located on the opposite side of the safety glass 2. Thus the people located on either side of the counter can communicate by voice in good conditions because experience has shown that with the arrangement described in two acoustically independent half-bowls, with the microphone on one side of the glass controlling the transducer located on the other side of this glass, the faults reported at the start are completely avoided.

Amplifiers 14, 15 are fixed under the underside of the two half-cuvettes and there are provided at 13 buttons for adjusting the power of the loudspeakers. These buttons are preferably housed in cavities of the half-cuvettes and designed to be turned with a screwdriver to adjust the sound power of each of the two half-cuvettes.

Thus all the electrical part is carried by the half-bowls and is put in place with it, all at once. Of course, a cable not shown makes it possible to connect this electrical part to a power outlet. This cable and this socket are provided under the counter, to escape the sight of users of the counter.

The window described therefore has the advantage that no electrical element (transducers, microphones, amplifiers and their interconnections) is visible to users.

The variant shown in FIG. 3 has the same advantages as the embodiment according to fig. 1 and 2. It differs from the latter in the following points.

La cuvette 4a - formée pareillement de deux demi-cuvettes - est fixée sur la face supérieure du comptoir 1 a, au lieu d'être encastrée dans une ouverture de celui-ci.Bowl 4a - similarly formed of two half-bowls - is fixed on the upper face of the counter 1 a, instead of being embedded in an opening of the latter.

1 et 2.Consequently, the safety glass 2a has on its lower edge a notch 16 in which fits the bowl 4a, instead of having a straight edge as in the case of FIGS. 1 and 2.
