Description

The invention relates to a tube made of plastic or metal, the tube neck is closed on the mouth side with a membrane and which has a thread for screwing on a plastic closure cap, a hollow mandrel being provided in the outer or inner end face of the cap for pressing this membrane through, whose outer diameter corresponds to the tube neck width and whose annular end edge is designed as a cutting edge beveled into the interior of the hollow mandrel (FR-A-1246832).

The membrane that closes the tube neck is intended to be used to seal the tube contents aseptically until the tube is opened. This means that both perishable fillings can be stored over a longer period of time, as well as medicinal products can be kept sterile, for example, when air enters. The tube is generally opened by means of a mandrel provided in the screw cap, with which the membrane can be pressed into the interior of the tube. This mandrel is usually housed in the head of the screw cap in order to screw the screw cap firmly onto the tube neck, so that it can also protect the sensitive membrane against mechanical attack. However, there is also the possibility of accommodating the hollow mandrel in the interior of the screw cap, although measures must be taken to prevent the membrane from being pressed in unintentionally when the screw cap is screwed on.

In these known tube designs, it is felt to be disadvantageous that the membrane is pressed into the interior of the tube, since parts of this pressed membrane with the contents of the tube emerge again or at least reset and can thus lead to inconvenience.

In order to counter this disadvantage, various closure designs for such tubes have already become known.

In a first embodiment according to CH-A-318 365, a hollow mandrel arranged in the interior of the closure cap cuts out a central hole from the membrane, the cut-out plate being intended to remain in the interior of the hollow mandrel. Here, the hollow mandrel has cutting edges which are bevelled outwards and push the edge of the membrane part remaining on the tube neck into the interior of the tube. There are several shortcomings to this design: firstly, only a small part of the outlet cross-section specified by the tube neck wall is exposed, which can still be narrowed by putting the pushed-away edges of the remaining membrane material back, secondly, the pushed-off membrane material can tear and quite escape with the tube contents and Finally, there is no guarantee that the cut membrane plate will remain inside the hollow mandrel. The diameter of this plate corresponds to the inside diameter of the hollow mandrel and can therefore, due to gravity, fall out of the hollow mandrel again. In order to remedy the disadvantages shown above, however, it must be demanded that there is certainty that no membrane parts with the tube contents can escape.

In a further known version according to FR-A-12 46 832 this is taken into account by the fact that a central pin is provided on the membrane, into which a cutting thread provided in the hollow mandrel can cut. When the closure head is screwed on, this cutting thread takes hold of the pin, so that when the diaphragm is cut off by the hollow mandrel, this pin together with the cut-off membrane remains in the hollow mandrel. A disadvantage of this design is that a cutting thread must be provided in the hollow mandrel in order to ensure the secure gripping of the pin or the membrane part. Thus, two different internal threads have to be introduced in the closure head, which ultimately has a very low value, in a rather complicated manner, and thus extremely expensive. However, a tube sealed in this way is barely salable.

Also known, according to FR-A-290 640, is also a construction in which a hollow mandrel is accommodated in the closure cap and cuts an opening in the membrane when screwed in. Here, too, the cutting edges of the hollow mandrel are beveled outwards, combined with the above-mentioned disadvantage of pressing the remaining membrane parts into the interior of the tube neck.

In a further known embodiment according to FR-A-14 53 763, an opening is also only cut into the membrane through an end face which is inclined to the axis of the hollow mandrel, without the cut-out membrane part being held.

The object of the invention is to provide a tube with a screw cap, the tube neck is closed in a known and proven manner by a membrane, but which can be opened so that the membrane material, not even partially, pressed into the interior of the tube, but securely is held in the screw cap.

This is achieved according to the invention in that a guide mandrel protruding beyond the cutting edge is arranged centrally in the hollow mandrel or, in reverse of this inventive concept, in that a centrally located hollow pin is arranged on the membrane, the outside diameter of which has the inside diameter of the hollow mandrel coincides.

So no longer, as in the known designs, a hole is cut into the membrane and the cut-out plate is inserted into the hollow mandrel without being held there, but rather before cutting out. this plate, the plate either by the guide mandrel, which is arranged centrally in the hollow mandrel, or by the fact that the membrane is connected to a hollow pin which is forced into the hollow mandrel when screwed on.

Regarding the second embodiment, in which the membrane is equipped with an outwardly projecting hollow pin, it should be noted that although the known version according to FR-A-1246832 also has an outwardly projecting pin, that for grasping this pin and the attached one Membrane material, however, no thread must be provided in the interior of the hollow mandrel, which cuts into this pin. Characterized in that according to the invention this pin is now hollow, it can easily squeeze into the hollow cylindrical hollow mandrel when screwing on the closure cap, so that it is held securely even without a thread. This not only brings significant manufacturing advantages, but also any material can be used that is not the one as in the case of FR-A-12 46 832. must allow thread cutting.

If, according to a further feature of the invention, the guide mandrel is roughened or fluted transversely, or if it has, at a distance from its tip, preferably an annular bead or an annular recess in the hollow mandrel, an annular recess, then a detached membrane plate made of inelastic material, for example, will also appear Clamp the metal foil so on the guide mandrel or between the guide mandrel and the inner wall of the hollow mandrel that it can no longer get inside the tube. A further embodiment provides for a thread on the guide mandrel, this thread being able to have the same pitch or a higher pitch than the screw-on screw cap. In this embodiment, the guide mandrel is screwed into the membrane, which, when it is subsequently cut free from the hollow mandrel, is held securely on the thread of this guide mandrel. In contrast to the known internal cutting thread, such an external thread on the guide mandrel is easy to manufacture, so that it practically does not increase the cost of the execution of this closure cap.

To make it easier to shear the membrane, it can also be provided with a circular notch arranged in the tube neck wall.

  • Fig. 3 die Kopfseite einer Verschlußkappe mit Hohldorn,

Exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown schematically in the drawing, namely:
  • Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment of a tube longitudinal section with the cap and
  • 2 in the same representation, a screwed cap,
  • 3 the head side of a closure cap with hollow mandrel,
  • 4 an embodiment with a guide mandrel with thread,
  • Fig. 5 in the same representation as Fig. 1, a membrane with pin and
  • Fig. 6 this version with screwed cap.

A tube 1 is provided on the mouth side with a plastic thread 2 onto which a closure cap 6 can be screwed. The tube neck 10 of the tube 1 is closed by a membrane 3, which is provided with a notch 5 at the edges.

A hollow mandrel 7 is arranged in the interior of the closure cap 6, the annular end edge of which is designed as a serrated cutting edge 8 which is bevelled inwards. A guide mandrel 9 is arranged centrally in the interior of this hollow mandrel 7, the tip of which projects beyond the cutting edge 8.

During this screwing, the guide mandrel 9 first pierces the membrane 3, as a result of which the membrane material 3 already clings elastically to the guide mandrel 9. In the further course of the screwing-in movement, the cutting edge 8 separates the membrane 3 from the tube neck 10, so that it is pressed approximately into the position as shown in FIG. 2.

This is shown more clearly in FIG. 3, where it is also shown how the hollow mandrel can be inserted into the head of the closure cap 7. In Fig. 3, both the guide mandrel 9 and the hollow mandrel 7 are corrugated 11 to achieve a secure hold of the sheared membrane plate 3.

Fig. 4 shows an embodiment with a guide mandrel 9, which is provided with a thread 12. When this cap 6 is screwed on, the pointed guide pin 9 first hits the membrane 3, pierces it and screws into the material of the membrane 3. Only then does the cutting edge 8 of the hollow mandrel 7 hit the membrane material and cut off the membrane plate from the tube neck wall. However, this membrane plate 3 is now securely held on the thread 12 of the guide mandrel 9, apart from the fact that it is also pressed into the interior of the hollow mandrel 7.

Dieser Zustand ist in Fig. 6 gezeigt, woraus auch ersichtlich ist, daß diese abgescherte Membrane nun sicher in der Verschlußkappe 6 gehalten ist.5 and 6, finally, an embodiment is shown in which a hollow and therefore elastically flexible pin 4 is attached to the membrane 3. When the cap 6 is screwed onto the plastic thread 2, the hollow mandrel 7 pushes over this pin 4, which shears off the membrane 3 in the further course of the unscrewing movement. This state is shown in Fig. 6, from which it can also be seen that this sheared membrane is now securely held in the cap 6.
