Definitions
- the invention relates to a ski backstop, which is characterized by inexpensive manufacture, simple attachment to the ski and safe operation.
- the invention has for its object to achieve in a simple but at the same time safe way that the skis cannot slide back even on steep ascents, thus reducing the strain on the arms or avoiding the ascent in a graving or stair step.
- the ski backstop according to the invention is characterized in order to achieve this object by a U-shaped bracket mounted with its web transverse to the running direction of the ski on its upper side with a control arm firmly connected to it, the pivoting movement of which by a stop on a bearing shell for the bracket is limited.
- control arm it is advantageous to design the control arm as a cranking of the central part of the web directed at right angles to the web, it being possible for the control arm to be substantially perpendicular to the plane of the U-shaped bracket for a specific configuration. If the bearing shell has an upwardly directed middle part, this forms the upper stop for the control arm.
- the U-shaped bracket is advantageous to produce from a round rod material, in particular from aluminum, for reasons of weight, and it is also advantageous if the bearing shell is a molded plastic part.
- FIGS. 1 to 2 The embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 2 will first be described.
- Its essential part is a U-shaped bracket 1, for example made of a round aluminum rod 8 mm in diameter, in which in the basic position the beveled ends 2, 3 of its legs 4, 5 end approximately with the tread 6 of the ski 7. If, however, the skis 7 slide backwards against the direction of travel 8 when climbing over a slope, the ends 2, 3 penetrate into the snow and pivot the legs 4, 5 downward until they assume the dashed position.
- Both positions of the legs 4, 5 shown are end positions, which are determined by a control arm 9 in the central part of the web 1a of the U-shaped bracket 1.
- This control arm 9 consists of a short hairpin offset of the aluminum rod from which the bracket 1 is made.
- a bearing shell 10 in the present case made of sheet metal of approximately 2 mm thickness, is used to support the U-shaped bracket 1 and is screwed onto the upper side of the ski by four screws 11 to 14. It overlaps the lateral sections of the web 1a of the U-shaped bracket 1.
- the central region of the bearing shell 10, opening a window 19 for the passage of the control arm 9, is directed obliquely upwards as a flap and forms the upper stop 16 of the control arm 9. In the dashed position of the bracket 1, the control arm 9 rests on the rear end of the bearing shell 10.
- the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4 essentially corresponds to what was described above, but differs in the bearing shell 10 '.
- This formed as an injection molded bearing shell 10 ' has an open window 19' for the passage of the swivel arm 9 of the U-shaped bracket 1, on the front edge of which a stop 16 'designed as a centering pin projects centrally.
- the gusset of the control arm 9 formed by the hairpin offset engages around the centering pin 16 ′ and thus aligns the bracket in the center of the ski 7. With strong pressure against the centering pin 16 ', this is supported on the front edge of the window 19'.
- a transverse groove 17 is formed in the underside of the bearing shell 10 'in the front region, which opens into two longitudinal slots 20 which are open towards the front edge of the bearing shell 10'.
- an elastic loop 18 which can be pulled over the control arm 9, so that the U-shaped bracket is tensioned against the centering pin 16 'and is thus fixed in its rest position.
- the loop 18 must be unhooked from the control arm 9.
- this loop can also be used in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 or in the embodiment to be described according to FIG. 5.
- a lower end plate 21 covers the bearing shell 10 'of the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4, so that the strap web 1a does not lie directly on the surface 15 of the ski.
- the entire ski - backstop can be because it is very simple to integrate without difficulty into the front of a bond, which is not shown here in the drawing specifically, for the expert, however, be carried out easily.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a ski backstop, which is characterized by inexpensive manufacture, simple attachment to the ski and safe operation.
It is known when climbing skins as a backstop. to use. Their constant use when skiing is uneconomical. It is also known to arrange a resilient lever on the ski, the pin of which projects downward when the ski is detached from the boot and protrudes over the underside of the ski and prevents the ski which has become ownerless from moving further independently. When the skis are in use, however, the pin is withdrawn and therefore has no influence on the way the skis glide over the snow.
The invention has for its object to achieve in a simple but at the same time safe way that the skis cannot slide back even on steep ascents, thus reducing the strain on the arms or avoiding the ascent in a graving or stair step.
The ski backstop according to the invention is characterized in order to achieve this object by a U-shaped bracket mounted with its web transverse to the running direction of the ski on its upper side with a control arm firmly connected to it, the pivoting movement of which by a stop on a bearing shell for the bracket is limited.
The ends of the U-shaped bracket on the snow, which does not prevent it from sliding when the ski moves forward, and the ski tries to slide backwards, end up in the snow and pivot until the control arm comes into contact with the rear stop , whereupon the ski is locked against the snow surface and provides firm support for the foot. When moving forward again, the arms of the U-shaped bracket are pulled out of the snow and lie next to the side surfaces of the ski on the snow surface.
It is advantageous to design the control arm as a cranking of the central part of the web directed at right angles to the web, it being possible for the control arm to be substantially perpendicular to the plane of the U-shaped bracket for a specific configuration. If the bearing shell has an upwardly directed middle part, this forms the upper stop for the control arm.
For manufacturing and cost reasons, it is advantageous to produce the U-shaped bracket from a round rod material, in particular from aluminum, for reasons of weight, and it is also advantageous if the bearing shell is a molded plastic part.
It is possible to divide the U-shaped bracket in the middle of the control arm so that the two bracket legs can move separately from one another, but the control arm nevertheless comes to rest against the stops of the bearing shell in the end positions.
By means of an elastic loop attached to the bearing shell in the front area, into which the control arm can be hung, it is possible to lock the U-shaped bracket in a swiveled-up position so that the bracket arms do not touch the snow when sliding forward and they also during storage and transport of the skis are fixed and cannot cause injuries or damage.
Figuren
- Figures 1, 3 and 5 different embodiments of the backstop from the side;
- Figures 2, 4 and 6 corresponding representations of the backstop in plan view.
The embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 2 will first be described. Its essential part is a
The exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4 essentially corresponds to what was described above, but differs in the bearing shell 10 '. This formed as an injection molded bearing shell 10 'has an open window 19' for the passage of the
Furthermore, a
It goes without saying that this loop can also be used in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 or in the embodiment to be described according to FIG. 5.
The embodiment of Figures 5 and 6 differs from those previously described in that the
The entire ski - backstop can be because it is very simple to integrate without difficulty into the front of a bond, which is not shown here in the drawing specifically, for the expert, however, be carried out easily.
