Das Ziel der Erfindung besteht darin. Kontaktelektroden für Schmelz- und Wärmeöfen mit Gleichstromplasmabeheizung und hohen Stromstärken, vorzugsweise im Bereich von 10 bis 40 kA, mit hoher Lebensdauer, günstigen Wärmeübergangsbedingungen und niedrigem Materialverbrauch zu schaffen. Erfindungsgemäß wird die Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß der aus einem korrosionsbeständigen Werkstoff hergestellte Strömungskörper über die gesamte Stirnfläche der Kontaktelektrode eine gleichmäßige Wärmeabführung gewährleistet, sich unterhalb der Stirnfläche der Kontaktelektrode ein Temperaturgeber befindet, der außergewöhnliche thermische Belastungen signalisiert und ein Stahlkopf als Verschleißteil mit der Stirnfläche der Kontaktelektrode metallisch verbunden ist.The aim of the invention is.
