Abstract

1. A contact electrode for melting and heating furnaces with direct current plasma heating, in which a flow member (4) is provided in a bore (3) in the contact electrode (1) for the supply of a cooling medium, the flow member orifice being situated opposite the end face (6) of the contact electrode, characterized in that the orifice of the flow member (4), which is made from a corrosion resistant material, has a widening (5) such as to ensure uniformly intensive cooling of the end face (6) of the contact electrode (1).

Description

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Kontaktelektrode für Schmelz- und Wärmeöfen mit Gleichstromplasmabeheizung, wobei in einer Bohrung der Kontaktelektrode zur Zuführung eines Kühlmediums ein Strömungskörper vorgesehen ist, dessen Mündung der Stirnfläche der Kontaktelektrode gegenüberliegt. Kontaktelektroden mit einer Kühlung durch Wasser oder andere Medien sind bekannt. Sie weisen häufig schlechte elektrische Kontakt- sowie ungenügende Wärmeübergangs- und Kühlmittelströmungsverhältnisse auf, die zum Anschmelzen bzw. zur Zerstörung der Kontaktelektroden führen. Das Ziel der Erfindung besteht darin, Kontaktelektroden für Schmelz- und Wärmeöfen mit Gleichstromplasmabeheizung und hohen Stromstärken, vorzugsweise im Bereich von 10 bis 40 kA, mit hoher Lebensdauer, günstigen Wärmeübergangsbedingungen und niedrigem Materialverbrauch zu schaffen.The aim of the invention is to provide contact electrodes for melting and heating furnaces with direct current plasma heating and high current intensities, preferably in the range from 10 to 40 kA, with a long service life, favorable heat transfer conditions and low material consumption.
