Claims (7)

1. Controllable pushing device (19, 20) for a pushed-barge combination, this combination consisting of a push tug (1) with at least one pushed-barge unit (5, 4, 3) in front of the push tug, and in which each unit can consist of one, two or more barges (2) coupled next to one another, the push tug being provided with at least one drive device, and there being in the combination at least one controllable pushing device (20) which comprises a horizontal support frame (46, 66, 67) which is fastened directly or indirectly to the stem and which carries and guides a pushing beam (21) hinged about a vertical axis (S-S) and arranged transversely relative to a centre line (6-6) of the combination, and, for control purposes, in each case a hydraulic piston/cylinder unit (58, 58a) or suchlike extendable and retractable device being located on each side of the hinge axis (S-S) between the support frame (46) and the pushing beam (21), characterised in that, in the case of a pushed-barge combination with at least one further pushed-barge unit (4, 3) coupled in front of the push tug/pushed-barge combination (1, 20, 5), at least one controllable pushing device (19) is arranged between pushed-barge units (4, 3) located further forward in the combination, in that an essentially identical controllable pushing device (20) can be located between the push tug (1) and the directly precoupled pushed-barge unit (5), in that each complete pushing device (20, 19) is fastened exclusively to one of the units to be coupled (push tug 1 and/or pushed-barge unit (4)), in that the pushing device (19, 20) is provided with at least one vertical push knuckle (73, 173; 50, 150), in that one particular push knuckle is arranged, as a centre push knuckle (73, 173), in the centre line (6-6) of the device so as to be suitable for interacting with the hinge axis (S-S) of the pushing beam (21), in that the device is limited on the coupling side by the essentially flat pushing surface of the pushing beam, and in that longitudinal and cross- wires or the like are used between the pushing beam (21) and the unit (3 or 5) for coupling in the way which is customary for a rigid combination.
2. Controllable pushing device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the support frame (46, 66, 67) is designed to be vertically adjustable parallel to itself along vertical guides (72) on the push knuckles (50, 150) (Figure 3).
3. Pushing device according to Claims 1 and 2, the pushing device being fastened to the push tug, characterised in that the vertical guides (50, 72) are located on the push tug, one on a starboard push knuckle (50) and the other on a port push knuckle (50), and in that they are capable of absorbing horizontal forces acting in all directions.

Pushing device according to Claim 3, characterised in that the pushing beam (21) is supported by means of mainly horizontal legs (61-64) in the direction of the centre line (6-6) of the push tug (1), where the legs are fastened to a vertical cylindrical column (65) which, acting as a hinge pin, rests in a vertical cylindrical groove (74) as a counter- hinge, this groove being fastened to the stem of the push tug (1) via a vertical centre push knuckle (73) extended downwards by means of an afterpiece (73a), and the support frame (46, 66, 67) enclosing the cylindrical column (65) rotatably in the cylindrical groove (74) on the same side as the pushing beam.

Pushing device according to Claims 1 and 2, the pushing device being fastened to one pushed-barge or to two pushed-barges coupled next to one another, characterised in that an essentially horizontal auxiliary stem (25) is located between the stem supporting the entire pushing device (19) and the pushing device (19) itself, this auxiliary stem (25) supporting the vertical starboard and port guides (150).

Pushing device according to Claim 5, characterised in that the auxiliary stem (25) is fastened, by means of two horizontal supports (78) hinged about a vertical axis (77), to the deck of the pushed-barge or the pushed-barge unit, hammer bolts (82) or the like, inserted into orifices (83) with a certain amount of play, forming a releasable connection (79), and in that the auxiliary stem (25) can be extended downwards (75, 76) and thereby be supported against a wide afterpiece (84) on the stem of the barge (barges).
7. Pushing device according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterised in that, in the case of the releasable pushing device (Figures 5 and 6) between two barge units (3, 4), the pushing beam (21) and the legs (61-64) are provided on their underside with supporting surfaces (85) lying in a horizontal plane and with a peg (86) projecting downwards, and in that, in the case of the pushing device (Figures 2, 3 and 4) on the push tug (1), the topside (88) is essentially flat and horizontal, and in that a receiving orifice (87) is provided in its top side, all in such a way that the push tug (1) can by means of its liftable pushing device (20) lift, transport and attach the pushing device (19) for the purpose of arrangement between the barges, the horizontal surfaces (85, 88) resting on one another and the peg (86) engaging into the receiving orifice (87).
