Abstract

A nestable container or a storable-and-nestable container generally of the open-top, rectangular type, comprises along one of its walls a set-back forming a recess which lies inwardly of the remainder of the wall at a lower portion of the container. The recess is provided with means for holding an identifying card or other indicia, e.g. for disclosing the contents of the container so that the card is undamaged upon interfitting of the containers during nesting.

Description

The invention relates generally to nestable bins and stackable and nestable bins and it relates more specifically to an improvement by which these bins can receive marking means having the double advantage of being removable and having a large surface .

For bins intended for example for the storage of spare parts, spare parts or others in industry and in commerce, it is indeed desirable to provide them with labels of imposed format, such as mechanographic cards or dimensions large enough to be easily read. However, the upper part of the external face of the containers, which is always visible, even when the containers are nested, most often has reinforcing ribs which delimit areas of small surface allowing only the placement of small labels. Only the rest of the surface of the external face of the bins can therefore be used to receive large labels. However, it turns out that these labels are very quickly deteriorated, because the label of a container comes into direct contact with the inner wall of the underlying container, when the containers are in the nesting position. In addition, the projecting elements, necessary to retain the label, can usually hinder or reduce the nesting of the trays in each other, as this increases the size of the surfaces to be nested.

The labeling of these bins thus poses the problem of placing a label which is very visible when the bins are stacked and does not get damaged when they are nested.

The invention solves this problem by arranging at least one of the four walls of the container so that at least part of its lower zone, that is to say that not covered by another container fitted into this container. , which is set back from the rest of this zone and delimits a room serving as a housing for a label. In others terms, the invention takes advantage of the lower zone of the container, that is to say that in which the containers do not interpenetrate, to constitute the housing of at least one removable label which is placed in withdrawal by compared to the outer wall of the tank.

  • Figure 1 en est une vue en perspective;
The invention will moreover be clearly understood with the aid of the following description, with reference to the appended schematic drawing representing, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of this stackable-nestable container:
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view;
  • Figure 2 is, on an enlarged scale, a vertical sectional view along 2-2 of Figure 1, and
  • Figure 3 is a vertical sectional view identical to Figure 2, but showing two nested trays and illustrating the respective positions of their labels.

This belt is intended for give the necessary rigidity and solidity to the upper part of the tank; but it also makes it possible, by its two horizontal ribs 1 and 2, to determine the bearing surfaces of the tanks one on the other when they are in the nesting position. The spacing between the two ribs 1 and 2, it that is to say the height of the belt, determines the degree of nesting of the trays and therefore the height of the free space 2 which, in accordance with FIG. 3, the trays delimit between them when they are fitted.

According to the invention, one of the walls of the tank, namely the transverse one 6 in the case shown in the drawing, has in its lower zone, that is to say precisely in that corresponding to the free space 5, a zone 7 which is located behind the interior of the tank. This recessed area 7 is connected to the wall 6 of the tank by an inclined area 8, and at its base this area in withdrawal 2 is extended forward by a rib 9 over a part of the length of which a heel 10 is provided. In the same vertical plane as this heel 10 are provided, on either side of the recessed area 7 , two vertical ribs 11.

The recessed area 7 of the wall 6 delimits, outside this wall, a housing 12 intended to receive a label 13 of cardboard, plastic or other material, in which it is retained by the heel 10 and by the two ribs 11.

It may also be advantageous to provide in the inclined area 8 one or more projections 14 (fig. 2) which prevent any accidental release of the label 13. To facilitate the voluntary exit of the label, this projection can moreover be locally interrupted, which makes it possible to bring a finger into abutment against the upper edge of the label, to fold it outwards and thus make it cross the projection. In FIG. 2, this projection has been shown at the intersection of surfaces 6 and 8, but it can be placed in other places of surface 6, one or more times.

An arrangement in accordance with the invention allows the easy installation and removal of a label which, being placed behind the relevant side wall of the container, is thus protected against any external contact; and thus in particular that the label is protected, even when the containers are in the nesting position, as shown in FIG. 3.

It is obvious that this recessed area, arranged in the lower part of the tray to serve as a housing for a label, can be provided either only on one of its transverse faces, or on its two transverse faces, or even on the one or the other or on its two longitudinal faces, or even on all of its faces.
