Claims (15)

1. Needle-felting machine for non-woven fabrics, comprising a frame provided with a guide path (3) for the fabric and means (5) for advancing said fabric on said path, at least one board (6, 6a, 6b; 60a, 60b) substantially parallel to the fabric and provided with needles, and an excentric and connecting rod rise and fall mechanism for driving said board with an alternating motion substantially perpendicular to the fabric, in order to cause the needles to penetrate the fabric, characterized in that said mechanism comprises two pairs (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b) of crank-rod assemblies, the assemblies making up a pair being coupled mechanically and each arranged one side of the same beam (1) positioned transversally with respect to the direction of advance of the fabric.
2. Needle-felting machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the beam (1) has an I-shaped cross-section and in that its web (9) is pierced by a succession of apertures (31) equal in number to the pairs of coupled crank-rod assemblies, each aperture being traversed by a sleeve (27) within which a crank-shaft (34) is rotatably mounted, said crank-shaft having excentric crank-pins (35a, 35b) bearing the connecting rod big ends (36a, 36b).
3. Needle-felting machine according to claim 2, characterized in that the rods (11a, 11b) of each crank-rod assembly run through one of the flanges (13) of the beam (1) in openings (14) arranged on either side of the web (9).
4. Needle-felting machine according to either of claims 2 and 3, characterized in that each pair (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b) of crank-rod assemblies includes two fly-wheels provided with balance weights (42a, 42b) rotatably integral with the crank-shaft (34).
5. Neeole-felting machine according to claim 4, characterized in that the fly-wheels (37a, 37b) of each pair of crank-rod assemblies have a rim (39a, 39b) enveloping the ends of the sleeve (27) passing through the beam (1) and in that the balance weights (42a, 42b) are housed between the sleeve (27) and the aforesaid rim (39a, 39b).
6. Needle-felting machine according to either of claims 4 and 5, characterized in that the rotary drive means of each pair of crank-rod assemblies comprise a drive pinion (18) which is connected to one of the fly-wheels (37a) of the assembly concerned by a notched belt (43) mounted on the periphery of said fly-wheel.
7. Needle-felting machine according to one of claims 2 to 6, characterized in that the drive means for the rise and fall mechanism comprise a motor (15) borne by the I-section beam (1) of the frame, which actuates a distribution shaft (16) mounted parallel to this beam, said shaft driving a group of drive pinions (18) each connected to one of the pairs of crank-rod assemblies placed on each side of the web of the beam, each drive pinion (18) receiving its motion from an angular counter-motion mechanism (17) passing through the web (9) of the beam.
8. Needle-felting machine according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that it comprises means (19, 21) for coupling and guiding in substantially vertical movement the connecting rod small ends (22a, 22b; 23a, 23b) of each pair of crank-rod assemblies, these connecting rod small ends being articulated to the movable beam bearing the needle board (6, 6a, 6b, 60a, 60b).

Needle-felting machine according to claim 8, characterized in that the means (19, 21) for coupling and guiding the connecting rod small ends (22a, 22b; 23a, 23b) of each pair of crank-rod assemblies comprise an axle (51) on which said connecting rod small ends are articulated, said axle bearing also a coupling link (52) rotatably mounted on it and articulated through its two ends on two respective crank arms (54, 55) themselves each articulated to the frame of the machine.
10. Needle-felting machine according to claim 9, characterized in that the beam (1) of the frame has an I-shaped cross-section, in that the rods (11a, 11b) of each pair of coupled crank-rod assemblies pass through one of the flanges (13) of the beam symmetrically with respect to the web (9) and in that the connecting rod small end (22a, 22b; 23a, 23b) coupling and guide means (19, 21) are borne by the flange (13) in question of the beam and are arranged in extension of the web (9) of the latter.
11. Needle-felting machine according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that it comprises a certain number of crank-rod assembly pairs (7a, 7b; 8a 8b) aligned transversally with respect to the direction of advance of the fabric.
12. Needle-felting machine according to claim 11, having an I-shaped cross-section beam (1) and characterized in that each pair (7a, 7b) of crank-rod assemblies of the beam is separated from the following pair (8a, 8b) by bracing partitions (65) mounted between the flanges.
13. Needle-felting machine according to either of claims 11 and 12, characterized in that it has a modular structure, these pairs of assemblies being substantially identical with one another and interchangeable.
14. Needle-felting machine according to one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that each of the two connecting rods (11a, 11b) of the same pair is connected to a separate needle board (6a, 6b), each of said boards being connected to two connection rods belonging to two different pairs of rods (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b).
15. Needle-felting machine according to one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that the four connecting rods forming two pairs (7a, 7b; 8a, 8b) are connected to the same needle board (6).
