Abstract

The present process serves for processing timber, in particular processing old wood such as demolition site wood, that is to say wood which may have considerable impurities consisting of very different material such as for example cement inclusions, stones, steel components and the like. It is essential here that after treating the wood and separating out relatively large foreign bodies which could damage the processing machines or even destroy them, an intensive cleaning of the wood chips occurs using a dry-cleaning system without using water treatment or other liquid washing agents. By virtue of the dry processing of the wood, a subsequent process step, which was correspondingly previously required, for eliminating moisture and the associated considerable energy expenditure can be eliminated. The special design of the separating device leads to a clean separation of the wood chips with a low specific weight from the impurities of high specific weight using a riddle sifter (31) in conjunction with a wind tunnel (5). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a method of the type specified in the preamble of claim.

Methods are already known in which the wood chips are treated and cleaned by means of the wet method.

A known method (DE-OS 23 53 266) for cleaning small wooden parts, such as wood chips, these being immersed in a cleaning liquid for washing out foreign matter and conveyed out of the cleaning bath and dried separately from the sinking foreign matter parts, characterized in that on the Mirror of the cleaning bath, a cover layer is preferably formed from several layers of the wooden parts to be cleaned, so that at least one surface part of this cover layer as a whole is repeatedly immersed and released again and again in such a way that the cleaning liquid flows through the cover layer in succession from different directions and the wooden parts are mutually rearranged, so that the light wood parts are then lifted off the mirror of the cleaning bath, while the sinking heavy wood parts are separated from the foreign matter parts and separately conveyed out of the cleaning liquid.

However, this known cleaning method is aimed only at relatively loosely adhering dirt which already falls off due to the mutual rubbing of the individual wooden parts against one another. This cleaning method does not lead to a satisfactory result for the starting product of any waste wood. An intensive washing system is assumed, in which the washing container consists of three sections of approximately the same length with lateral guide surfaces, the upper edges of which protrude above the water surface. In the first two sections in the direction of flow, the wash tank bottom is impermeable to water, while the third section is characterized by a sieve bottom. Strong propeller devices mounted on the side walls of the washing tank ensure intensive mixing of the washing liquid and thus a correspondingly strong swirling of the wood chips, which can lead to the dissolution of the wood. It has been found, however, that with this washing system excellent results can be achieved with regard to the cleaning of the wood chips, but on the other hand a not inconsiderable additional energy expenditure is required to bring the wood chips present after the wet cleaning back to the appropriate degree of dryness.

This is where the present invention comes in, which is based on the object of being able to carry out the cleaning steps required for the given method with the same or improved cleaning quality with less energy and, at the same time, device-technical outlay.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of the claim.

The advantage achieved by this task solution lies in particular in the energy saving which is not given in a wet process due to the drying process of the wood chips and in a further simplification of the apparatus structure of the cleaning device.

The accompanying drawing shows schematically an example embodiment for carrying out the present method.

Then a wood chip flow falls in the direction of arrow 1, consisting of the wood chips 2 within a container onto a vibrating screen 3, which sorts out fine particles, such as mineral impurities, by the vibrating movement. Due to the shaking movement, the specifically lighter chips are conveyed over the abutting edges in the exemplary embodiment and running in the direction of the incline of the vibrating sieve 3 and thus leaving the sieve in front of the outlet end in the direction of the lower one Arrow to fall through a discharge chute 4. In addition to the cleaned wood chips 2, which are given by the discharge chute 4 in the further processing process, the specifically denser parts with the impurities run through a wind tunnel 5, in which the lighter material discharged from the vibrating sieve follows in the direction of arrow 7 by a sufficient air flow driven above and returned to the cleaning process, while the parts with their specific weight above that of the wood are removed as contaminants via a further discharge chute 6.

This dry cleaning process can be carried out in the processing of waste wood and / or immediately after chopping, or before or after a given post-shredding.
