Finally, some or all of the rollers are not necessarily driven by a motor, their passive role then being identical to that played by the rollers with which conventional cooling installations are provided.

Claims (5)

1. A system, for cooling lengthwise products in motion encompassed by a cooling liquid, consisting of a cooling tube fitted at one end with a coolant-supply nozzle and, at the orther end, with a separator to dissociate the aforesaid product from its liquid envelope, a system in which the cooling tube is fitted with at least one roller-type member that drives the product, characterized in that the roller (1) is mounted horizontally in the enclosure (2), fitted on the one hand, with two connections (16, 17) linked to the cooling tube and respectively denoting the inlet and outlet of the enclosure for letting the product pass straight through this enclosure (2) and, on the other hand, a cover (7), the inner side of which is shaped as a semi-circular channel (15) which, in conjunction with the roller (1), delimits a passage for the product and the liquid envelope encompassing it, and also that, with respect to the direction of motion of the said product, the inlet connection (16) provides a cylindrical passage followed by a convergent nozzle, and the outlet connection (17) provides a cylindrical passage preceded by a convergent.
2. A system, according to claim 1, characterized in that the driving roller (1) is a grooved roller (19) whereby the product in motion can be centred sidewise.
3. A system, according to claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the roller (1) is connected to a driving motor (3).
4. A system, according to claim 1, characterized in that the distance from the cover (7) to the roller (1) is less than the inner diameter of the cooling tube so that the product in motion can be centred vertically.
5. A system, according to any claim above, characterized in that several driving members of the type considered are staggered along the cooling tube.
