Description

The invention relates to a container made from a one-piece blank made of cardboard, cardboard, plastic or the like, in particular a folding box, with an elongated container body forming the side walls of the container, which is formed from the blank by connecting two opposite longitudinal edges a square end face at one end of the container, from which the side walls converge to form a narrow end of container at the other end of the container, whereby from two diametrically opposite corners of the end face a main folding edge runs straight to an intersection at the narrow end of the container and from the two other diametrically opposite corners of the end face Run out secondary folding edges.

In such known containers (DE-OS 2 509 052), two secondary folding edges each go from one corner of the end face also straight to the two ends of the narrow container end. The container thus formed has completely flat side surfaces, which is for packing several containers together in one. The outer carton or the like is very advantageous because the containers lie flat against one another on all surfaces in contact with one another, so that there are no voids between the containers.

For the utilization of the interior of the container for packaging purposes, however, it is less desirable in some cases that the side walls converge in the area of the narrow container end as completely flat surfaces at a mostly very acute angle, because this means that the container interior does not or only slightly at this container end the packaging can be used.

A preferred application of such containers in the embodiment as folding boxes is the packaging of tubes. The tubes are also not delimited by two flat surfaces at their folded ends, but rather slightly curved outwards. This means that the tubes cannot fill the entire length of the container interior; they must end at a more or less large distance from the narrow container end.

It is also known (DE-OS 1 807 670), in a similar container for packing tubes, to allow a single secondary folding edge starting from a corner of the end face to end in the first third of the container length without a further folding edge at each end of the narrow container end runs. However, this results in an undefined curved shape of the side wall for the majority of the container length, which impairs the appearance, the stackability when packing several containers together and the adaptation of the container interior to the shape of a tube.

The object of the invention is therefore to achieve a better utilization of the container interior, in particular in the area of the narrow container end, while largely maintaining the advantages of the containers mentioned at the beginning.

This task is according to the invention. solved by that the two secondary folding edges on the erected container are each angled to an outward to the intersection of the main folding edges with the narrow container edge folding edge. As a result, the container dimensions and thus also the interior of the container are enlarged in the area of the narrow container end, so that the objects to be packed, such as tubes, fit better into the container, so that a shorter container can be selected for the packaging of the tube or the like. Better packaging utilization is also achieved, for example, when packing coarse-grained bulk material, because the individual particles of the bulk material can further advance towards the narrow container end. These measures also counteract the accusation that the container pretends to have more content than is actually available due to its slender shape due to its relatively large length.

Weitere Ausgestaltungen des Erfindungsgedankens sind Gegenstand von Unteransprüchen.Further refinements of the inventive concept are the subject of subclaims.

The invention is explained in more detail below using exemplary embodiments which are illustrated in the drawing.

The folding box of cardboard, cardboard, plastic or the like shown in FIG. 1 has a square end face 1 and a fuselage consisting of side faces 2, 3 and 4, only the front side faces being visible in the figures. From the face 1, the side surfaces 2, 3, 4 run to a narrow container end 5 at the other end of the container.

The two corners of the narrow container end 5 each form an intersection 10 and 11, each with a main folding edge 8 and 9, which extend in a straight line from two diametrically opposite corners 6, 7 of the end face 1.

As can be seen from the representation of the blank in FIG. 2, an adhesive flap 12 is articulated on one main folding edge 9, the adhesive surface of which is shown hatched in FIG. 2. This adhesive flap 12 is connected to the opposite cutting edge, so that the body of the folding box is created. The narrow container end 5 also has a hinged adhesive tab 14 which forms the closure of the container at one end.

At the other end of the container, a flap closure is provided in the manner customary for folding boxes, consisting of a hinged closure flap 15, side flaps 16, 17 and an insertion flap 18 on the closure flap 15. Instead, another container closure can also be provided, which has the square end face 1 forms. In the illustrated embodiments, the square end face is square; however, it goes without saying that the end face 1 can also be rectangular, as a parallelogram or another square.

9 mit dem schmalen Behälterabschluß 5.In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1-3, two straight secondary folding edges 20, 21 each start from the two diametrically opposite corners 19 of the end face 1 and end at a distance from the container closure 5. The extensions of the secondary folding edges 20, 21 run in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1-3 at a distance from the two intersection points 10, 11 at the narrow container end 5. From the ends of the secondary folding edges 20, 21 an angled folding edge 22, 23 runs to the adjacent intersection point of the Main folding edge 8 or 9 with the narrow container end 5.

Fig. 4 shows a partial view in the direction of arrow IV in Fig. 3, the blunted shape in the region of the narrow container end 5, compared to a straight course of the container longitudinal edges, which is shown with dash-dotted lines in Fig. 4.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 5, two secondary folding edges 20, 21 each extend from the corners 19 of the end face 1, each of which merges into a folding edge 24 or 25 extending to the intersection points 10 or 11. Here, too, the angle between the secondary folding edges 20 and 21 is smaller than the angle that would result from a straight line towards the intersection points 10 and 11, respectively. In contrast to the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1-3, the folded edges 24, 25 are not straight and bent from the secondary folding edges 20, 21, but run in an arc, for example in a circular arc, to the intersection points 10, 11.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, similar to the example according to FIG. 5, two secondary folding edges 20, 21 start from the corners 19, the two ends of which are connected to one another and to a narrow closure flap 30 at the container end by a tongue folding edge 29. The two closure tabs 30 thus created can be connected to one another in a foldable manner by means of an adhesive tab (not shown) in order to form a narrow container end surface.

Die von den Nebenfaltkanten 20, 21 abgewinkelten Faltkanten 33 verlaufen zu den Schnittpunkten 10, 11 der Hauptfaltkante 8, 9 mit dem Behälterabschluß 5.Each of the ends of the secondary folding edges 20 and 21 emanate three short folding edges 31, 32 and 33, which form an insert gusset between them, which connects the closure flap 30 to the adjacent container side wall 2 and 3, respectively. In the erected state of the container, the folded edges 31 and 33 lie against one another. The folding edges 33 angled from the secondary folding edges 20, 21 extend to the intersections 10, 11 of the main folding edges 8, 9 with the container closure 5.
