Definitions

  • This invention relates to a working scaffold movable on a support and having a vertically adjustable working platform, and the object of the invention is to achieve a working scaffold provided with such a platform, which can be erected and dismounted in a simple and quick way and, in dismounted state, consists of few loose parts and is so compact that it can be introduced and used in rela ⁇ tively, small rooms without being disassembled, and is easily transportable, e.g. on an automobile trailer, and which, further, should be constituted so that it can be raised and lowered without changing and loosening any staying and so that it can straddle obstacles on the support at least in the upper positions of the working platform.
  • This is achieved in such a way that the working scaffold according to the invention has been provided with the characteristic features set out in the claims.
  • Fig. 1 and 2 show a lateral view and an end view, respectively, of a preferred embodiment of the present working schaffold and Fig. 3 shows a detail of a stay attachment on a larger schale.
  • FIG. 1 designates a frame 2 comprising the working platform, preferably of framework beams, and with transversal and/or diagonally arranged stays, not shown in detail in the drawings, for firm support of the standi and working planes of the platform, i.e. floor 3, and a rack 4 running all around and with vertical poles 5 and 5 upper and lower rods 6 connected with these, the parts 7 covering the ends- of the working platform of these being rotatably attached at one of their ends to one corner pol and detachably connected with the other.
  • This rack is arranged as vertically adjustable with its vertical poles
  • the working platform is supported by legs 10 pro ⁇ vided with wheels 9, preferably pivot wheels, said legs 10 being arranged in pairs and each consisting of parts displaceable relative to each other, an upper portion 10a and a lower portion 10b. Of these parts the upper part
  • 20 10a in the embodiment of the invention shown in the draw ⁇ ing is arranged as displaceable around the lower portion 10b and is at its lower end connected with the frame 2 of the working platform by means of at least two bolts or screws 11 containing a bolt or screw joint via a mounting
  • the legs 10 in each pair are, moreover, reciprocall connected by means of a transverse beam 13 connecting the lower portions 10b of the leg pair with each other, which
  • 35 beam should be located as close to the wheels 9 as possi ⁇ ble, and by one additional transverse beam 14 connecting the upper parts 10a of the leg pair with each other, which beam should be located at a certain distance from the low ⁇ er end 15 of the upper parts of the legs to form an inter ⁇ space between the beams 13 and 14 when the scaffold is in 5 its lowermost position, in which the upper parts 10a of the legs rest with their ends 15 against the beams 13.
  • This interspace between the beams 13 and 14 at both end portions of the scaffold is arranged for a construc ⁇ tion jack 16, which is adapted to climb along a rod 17 at-
  • each leg are reciprocally locked in a set working posi ⁇ tion by means of a security hook suspended in a line or a pin 30 provided with a similar locking and inserted in the holes of the lower part of the leg arranged at a suitable reciprocal distance, said holes corresponding
  • Each such staying device comprises ' • *' more specifically a horizontal stay 23 and two diagonal
  • each such attaching device has a projection 28 directed upwards and downwards, which in an assembled position are inserted in each their yoke 29 arranged at the lower end portion of the upper part of the leg and which are retained in these yokes 29 without the possibility of coming loose as the stays 23 and 24 prevent in an ef ⁇ fective way displacement of the .attaching means 27 up ⁇ wards as well as downwards.
  • the present xvorking scaffold can also be erected and taken down very easily.
  • dis ⁇ mounting it is only necessary, after lowering the work- ing platform to the bottom position and loosening the rack, to draw out the pins 25.holding the upper ends of the diagonal stays 24, after which the staying means 27 can be removed by lifting the means of attachment 27, the downwardly directed projection 28 being free of its yoke 29, and to loosen all the bolts 11 except one in each bolt connection, after which the legs 10 can be turned towards the working platform 1.
  • This can prefera ⁇ bly be done after turning the schaffold so to speak up ⁇ side down, e.g. on the trailer.
  • the rack dismounted. into t o parts as well as the staying devices and possib ⁇ ly ladders 30 can be laid in the frame 2 on the floor 3,
  • the scaffold is in this disassembled state very compact and can therefore also be introduced into relatively narrow spaces, without it being necessary to dismantle it addi- tionally, and be raised there rapidly, which is made by swinging out the legs and fastening them by screws. After this the staying devices and the rake are placed in posi ⁇ tion and the scaffold is ready for use.
  • the climbing rod 17 can be composed of several parts so that it is shortened and lengthened.
