Description

The invention applies to cable car cabins, and more particularly to cabins intended for the transport of four or six people, and it aims to provide a particularly simple elastic suspension of the cabins and in particular an efficient and easily removable suspension.

The device according to the invention is essentially characterized by the insertion in a horizontal position of a closed elastic inflatable container and of annular shape, between the bottom of a carrying yoke, suspended from the cable car cable and supporting an annular face of the container and an upper cabin chassis secured to the supporting frame of this cabin and resting on the other annular face of the container.

The adoption of an inflation pressure of the tire corresponding to the vibration regimes of the carrying cable makes it possible to absorb these vibrations, to avoid resonance phenomena, to improve passenger comfort and to reduce noise.

The suspension yoke can have a general U-shape comprising a horizontal bottom supporting the tire and two vertical wings with front and rear ends rising through the upper cabin chassis to be suspended from a support arm of general vertical direction, the upper end can carry a clamp for its attachment with a cable that is both carrier and tractor.

The wings of the yoke are advantageously secured to longitudinal arms connected to the front and rear ends of the upper cabin chassis by shock absorbers, for example of the general type known as a "silentbloc", intended to damp the roll and pitch oscillations. which might tend to start and amplify under the action of the wind.

  • la figure 1 est une vue générale simplifiée de côté d'une cabine de téléphérique à laquelle peut s'appliquer l'invention;
  • la figure 2 est une demi-vue en plan correspondante montrant le dessus de la cabine équipé de la suspension pneumatrique selon la présente invention;
  • la figure 3 est une vue en perspective du châssis supérieur de cabine;
To clearly understand the invention, an exemplary embodiment will be described below with reference to the appended schematic drawing in which:
  • Figure 1 is a simplified general side view of a cable car cabin to which the invention can be applied;
  • Figure 2 is a corresponding half-plan view showing the top of the cabin equipped with the air suspension according to the present invention;
  • Figure 3 is a perspective view of the upper cabin chassis;
  • FIG. 4 is a view of the tire intended to support the central part of this chassis; and
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the yoke, the bottom of which supports the chassis by means of the interposed tire.

The particular constitution of the cabin, represented schematically in a simplified manner by its general outline in FIG. 1, does not form part of the invention and it has only been indicated, by way of example, that the upper part 1 of the cabin, above a lower part 2, has two transparent walls opposite 3-4 at the front and at the rear and that this cabin is provided with a side door with two pivoting leaves 5.

The cabin body essentially consists of a load-bearing metal frame and a covering which may consist in a known way of molded plastic panels.

The top of the metal frame of the upper part is constituted by an upper cabin chassis 6 which carries the controls for automatic door maneuvers according to a known arrangement (not shown).

In accordance with the invention, the upper cabin chassis 6 is equipped with the pneumatic suspension which is the subject of the present invention and an exemplary embodiment of which will be described below with reference to FIGS. 2 to 5.

The upper cabin chassis, indicated generally at 6, is part of the metal supporting frame of the cable car cabin and may have the general shape of a horizontal rectangle having a longitudinal axis of symmetry 7 and a transverse axis of symmetry 8. It comprises a solid central part 9 forming a platform intended to rest on a closed elastic inflatable container of annular shape 10 and two front and rear ends, hollowed out between the central part 8 and two opposite end crosspieces 11 for the passage of the vertical wings of the suspension yoke indicated generally at 12, This yoke has a general U shape with a horizontal bottom 13 intended to support the container 10 and vertical wings 14 extending upwards through the ends hollowed out of the chassis 6 to hang by the holes 15 of these wings from a longitudinal axis integral with the carrying arm (not shown) descending from the carrying cable and tractor of the a cable car line.

Chacune des ailes 14 de la chape 12 est solidiare d'une biellette longitudinale 16 s'étendant vers l'extérieur et portant à son extrémité un bloc amortisseur 17 destiné à s'assembler par un axe transversal horizontal à des pattes 18 portées par la face intérieure de la traverse d'extrémité correspondante 11 du châssis supérieur de cabine 6.Each of the wings 14 of the yoke 12 is connected with a longitudinal link 16 extending outwards and carrying at its end a damping block 17 intended to be assembled by a horizontal transverse axis to lugs 18 carried by the face inside of the corresponding end cross member 11 of the upper cabin chassis 6.

It is understood that the container 10 provides the desired flexible suspension while the roll and pitch oscillations are absorbed by the two shock absorbing blocks 17. The suspension, which is both very effective and very simple, is easily disassembled since it suffices to disassemble the connections of the support arm with the wings 14 of the yoke 12 and the connections of the shock absorption blocks 17 with the lugs 18 of the end cross members 11 of the upper cabin chassis 6.

It will be understood that the embodiment, described above and shown in the accompanying schematic drawing, is in no way limiting and that various constructive modifications could be provided for. In particular, it has been assumed in the foregoing description that the wings 14 of the yoke 12 are located at the front and rear ends of the yoke, but it is obvious that they could be provided laterally as well as the corresponding recesses of the chassis upper cabin 6, the axis 7 according to the drawing then being oriented transversely relative to the cabin, while the axis 8 would be oriented longitudinally.
